We came to Richmond to visit family. This is one of the few hotels in the area that can accommodate our family of 6 in one room. The suite we stayed in was on the main floor and had a kitchenette area, living area with tv and fold out couch, and bedroom with two queen beds, a tv, and closet storage. There was separate a/c units for bedroom/living area which was nice, as well as the window could be opened for some fresh air. The bathroom sink/vanity area is located outside of the toilet/tub room. The lighting at the vanity was dismal, not great for makeup. Actually the lighting in the whole place was a bit dim and would probably feel quite dark on a rainy winter day. We were on the road side of the building so you could tell when morning rush hour started about 6 am as there is construction nearby so lots of dump trucks going past. I have 4 kids though so am used to noise! The pool was moderately sized but ok when only a handful of people were in it. There is also a little caged in basketball area outside. The breakfast was decent as far as free hotel breakfast goes, but it got busy by about 745 and ran out of some items by 830. The staff were pleasant. We paid a pretty reasonable price for a family size room, although having looked at this hotel room in the past if we were to travel in summer it would be around $500/night so as a family of 6 going in March was definitely the right move. If you have kids, the location is what makes it standout. Within a short walk there is an ice arena, movie theater, bowling alley, trampoline park, Subway, and Old Spaghetti Factory. It is only a few minutes from hwy 99 if you are headed to the ferry/border/Vancouver/etc, and about 5 minutes from Ironwood where there is a ton of fast food places and a grocery store.

This is a great hotel for a stay in the Vancouver Canada area. Hotels are extremely pricey this time of year, this hotel was fairly affordable. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly. They have a good complimentary breakfast, and the cinnamon rolls at breakfast were noteworthy. They I suggest staying at an an American Brand hotel (like this location) for comfort, when I stayed at Canadian based hotels the hotels were very good, but the beds were a little smaller. This is a great place to stay in British Columbia.

Wife and i always stay in downtown Vancouver. However this time we chose to stay in Richmond for 5 nights as we were only there for the Asian food. A car is recommended when staying at this location.

There is a bus stop 6 minutes walk away that takes you to the centre of richmond. Where you can connect to the sky train to Vancouver.

Hotel is newer, lobby, hallway, and room are clean. However found the bathroom to be dated for a newer hotel.

There is an outdoor basketball court, and indoor swimming pool.

Parking is free at this location which is nice. Also there is a free shuttle to the airport which runs on the hour.

Breakfast is free as well, however the last 2 days we skipped in, as we were craving dimsum.

The wifi I found it to be frustrating. It keeps on kicking me out. Also a couple of morning the hotel did run out of the globe and mail.

Only a few staffs were friendly. Housekeeping crew were friendly, half of the breakfast staffs were friendly. In regards to the front desk crew, only the lady that checked us in, and the lady who checked us out were friendly.

Hi Il0verice, Thank you for staying with us and for leaving a review. Although we have limited service hospitality, our goal has always been to provide our guests with an exceptional and positive experience. While we're glad to know that you found most of the aspects of your stay to your liking, I get that you were not satisfied with our services and find our bathrooms outdated. I am sorry for the letdown. I have discussed the situation with hotel management, who responded with genuine concern for the impact this had on your stay. We hope to see you again so we can prove to you that we are committed to delivering True Hospitality. Many thanks, Alice P Case Manager IHGService

If your looking for a hotel that isn’t new or even well maintained, and obnoxiously loud, this place is for you.

Super important info that all of these reviews are missing - This hotel is located right next door to a skating rink. This is the ideal hotel for traveling hockey families. If your looking for nice & relaxing stay, DON’T STAY HERE!!

The sound proofing in the hotel is non-existent. Road noise, hallway noise, thudding from the room above you, and of course neighbourly room noise. No fan in bathroom so everyone in the hotel room, as well as your neighbour, get to come along.

Hygiene is questionable; musty fart smell in our room that doesn’t get better by opening windows. Crumbs all over the coffee bar and around microwave in the room. Our room had obviously water damage around windows, like wall paper peeling off the wall. TV remotes were nasty, like so nasty I cleaned it for them.

Towels weren’t fully stocked. TP roll in bathroom was half full, no extra in room. Coffee pods weren’t fully stocked after the last guest. House keeping only comes on FIFTH day of stay…

Breakfast was decent - they change it up so it not the same thing over and over. Also insanely busy and over crowded with hockey families.

There’s a nice movie theatre across the parking lot, and a trampoline/laser tag place right behind the hotel. There’s also a motorcycle driving school that happens in the parking lot in front of the hotel. Parking lot is also ideal for people that like to do doughnuts and other sweet car tricks, especially at 2am.

I think this hotel is given high scores due to its convenience for hockey families. This hotel doesn’t deserve anything over a 2.5/3 star rating. If this hotel appears in a 4 star range on a booking site, it’s not true. Don’t waste your travel points.

We had the absolute luxury of staying here on a tournament weekend, so lots of rude families & drunk parents. We have no plans on ever staying here again.

We chose this hotel because it has a pool. The hotel is supposed to allow only 10 people at a time (COVID rules) for a 30 minute slot. Unfortunately the pool and hot tub were really overcrowded.
The shampoo container is only easily accessible if you are taking a shower, not good if you are taking a bath.
The rooms are only made up every third day - the front desk did not inform us of that fact. We managed to find housekeeping staff to tell them we wanted the room made up, but they did not speak English. I finally spoke to the housekeeping manager.
I think that this hotel is over-priced.
The location is convenient only for the ice activities.
Tip: Highway southbound north of the Tunnel is often a parking lot. The hotel is easily accessed by no. 6 road, which you can reach by Bridgeport Road East.

As a Spire Elite member who has stayed at your property on numerous occasions before, I am sending you this email to tell you how hugely disappointed I was during my recent stay on April the 9th thru to the 12th.

Why am I stating this? First all, upon arrival the room I was given was filthy. And although it had been made up prior to my arrival, there was dust everywhere, no coffee for the Kurig coffee maker and one of the lamps had a burnt out light in it.

So I went to front desk to complain and asked to be be put into another room but was told no other rooms where available. So I asked for the housekeeping to come and do a quick tidy up but no one ever showed up.

Then the next day, I when I arrived back to my room, I was surprised to find out my room had not been made up. So again, I went to the front desk to ask why this was the case and was promptly told to the refer the sign shown in the picture below.

image1.jpeg

This was the first time I had seen this sign and told your front desk clerk accordingly. So if this is now the property’s policy, why did the person who checked me make me aware of this immediately? And why is it not posted on the IGH website/your property website? Had I know this when I booked my room, I would never have stayed at your property (I stayed later on in the week at another IGH property in Richmond and they have no such policy). Furthermore, if this is now the property’s policy, should this not be reflected in your pricing for the rooms? Why should one pay the regular rate when one is getting less value/services for the money?

Yes, one can use the argument that it is for the protection of your cleaning staff. What about the safety though of your customers? Certainly a dirty room can easily lead someone catching something!

Elena, I stay at enough IHG properties to know that sometimes things happen. However, whenever I’ve encountered any issues, they usually always get taken care off in a timely matter. Not so in this case.

I was thoroughly disappointed at my most recent stay at your property and will keep this in mind for future stays in the Richmond area.

Assigned to this hotel by Westjet due to missing a flight connection, on the advice of the Westjet Customer Relation agent, waited for the shuttle to take me to this hotel. Unfortunately, I was misinformed that the shuttle was coming every 15 minutes, and after waiting over a half hour, called the hotel to find out why it had not come by.

The woman answering the call at the hotel told me they did not have a regular shuttle service this day, and to take a taxi to the hotel where I would be reimbursed for the taxi ride. She did not specify which taxi company I should use, nor offer to call a taxi to pick me up.

The ride cost $44, and when I presented the receipt, was told repeatedly by the desk clerk that hotel policy capped the reimbursement at $34 as I should have used the Richmond Taxi company, not the Vancouver one. On my request, he contacted the manager, who reiterated no change of the reimbursement, despite being misinformed by a staff person.

I would have expected that management would take responsibility for the actions of their employees. Not a very impressive sign of good management.

Maybe all bad luck. I waited for the complimentary hotel shuttle from the airport for an hour (yes, it runs on the hour...so I accept bad luck). When I arrived, I checked in and was given a key - only to enter an already occupied room. So had to go back down and get a key for a new room. The room was very cold, so I turned on the heating, which was loud and rattled on and off overnight. In the morning, I discovered the hairdryer was broken. I tried calling housekeeping and front desk around 6:30 AM, neither answered. I did some work, got breakfast and inquired at the front desk close to 7:30 and was told nobody could help me for an hour. As someone traveling on business and trying to prepare for a meeting, this was overall a poor experience. The two positive experiences: There were a lot of breakfast options, and the staff were always friendly when they were apologizing. Regardless, I would not stay here again.

We stayed at the Riverboat Richmond overnight prior to our cruise. This hotel was (relatively speaking!) more reasonably priced than many Vancouver hotels. It was closer to the airport than the pier which was fine since we were arriving around midnight after traveling for most of the day and just wanted to check in and get some sleep.

Calling for the shuttle was easy. The phone was answered right away. Since the shuttle would take about an hour to get to the airport (it was on another call) we were told to grab a cab and the hotel would reimburse us. This worked fine-although they reimbursed us in Canadian dollars rather than giving us a credit on our credit card. Travel time to hotel was short.

The room was clean and comfortable. It had a kitchenette which was nice if we had been staying longer. Breakfast was good and had a variety of options. Area around hotel seemed safe.

We used Uber the next day to travel to pier. For 4 of us (and lots of luggage!) it cost about $40-50.

At the hotel's home page, under "Hotel Details," there is a phone number and email address. Tripadvisor does not permit email addresses, so I cannot put it here for you. In my experience, they answer email inquiries rapidly. I recall seeing a shower in the fitness area of the hotel.
Good afternoon Yes you can leave your car with us but it will be $5.50 a night before tax each night you are not at the hotel. Be sure to call the hotel to book as we have park stay and go packages for your convenience Thank you for you question Teresa Guest Service Supervisor

Good morning Monina122, Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately it would be a 2 hour walk to Richmond General Hospital. We do however have transit available within the Riverport Entertainment Complex or a taxi fare of approx. $25.00. Kind Regards, Karen McFerran Hotel Manager
