This hotel is very pretty , rooms were nice and staff was friendly. I only gave it a average rating because it’s right next to a major highway , very hard to get too and there is nothing nearby that’s walkable. We had to pay for transportation everywhere we went! It’s definitely a more suburban area and not nearly as pretty as their photos are.
We are from the Sunshine Coast of BC and unfortunately we only ever stay here when we have some kind of medical issue. We love it! Just got home from our latest visit. The hotel is so clean. We always get an accessible room and it's always awesome. The food in the restaurant was excellent and the availability to the bus to the hospital works perfectly.
This hotel is clean and the staff are friendly. However, it is an extremely tired property in dire need of updating. The pullout couch in our room was frayed and sagging. The television was old and had a terrible picture that was not even in HD. The lobby and all other central areas looked like they were last updated in the 90’s. Regardless, we had a quiet, pleasant stay, but would likely seek a more modern property if we were in this area again.
Wonderful experience and all covid safety protocols being followed. We like the option of no housekeeping and calling down for items we might need. Easy access to superstore across the street and Deep Cove, west Vancouver and shopping. We had adjusted our stay from downtown Vancouver to north Vancouver and enjoyed our decision immensely . We will be back!
We had a record-setting heat wave in British Columbia, and we didn't have any air conditioning in our North Vancouver apartment. My son suggested checking out the local Holiday Inn which offers air conditioned rooms. I contacted the front desk and they transferred me to their reservation center. I don't know where their reservation center is, but obviously it wasn't in the Vancouver area as the person I spoke with didn't know where North Vancouver was. I had a hard time dealing with the reservation clerk, she kept asking me for my e-mail address (four times) and my credit card number (three times). My son had heard that the Holiday Inn was offering a room for seniors at $135 a night, but the clerk said all she knew was that the rooms were $159. After asking me for my e-mail address one more time she said "OK I have booked you in to a room for three nights at $179 a night." I asked why the price went up during the time we had been talking and she said "well the rooms are going fast." I managed to get the room at $159. The room itself was on the top floor in a corner suite. It had a king size bed in one room and a hide-a-bed in the other. Each room has its own air conditioner and both were on as we entered for the first time. The bed was comfortable and the pillows were great, I had thought about bringing my own pillow from home, but as it turned out I didn't need to. The people at the front desk were very efficient. We had a few meals in the Medley's Grill - the restaurant in the hotel. The meals were excellent and reasonably priced. My wife and I found that the servings were actually too big for us to finish. One suggestion to management - perhaps offer the option of smaller portions for seniors at a lesser price. It appeared to us that the restaurant was understaffed as we saw the same servers at breakfast lunch and dinner, and they were run off their feet. The restaurant also offered take-out to hotel patrons as well as food delivery services. On our last evening there we decided to have dinner in the restaurant, but so did a lot of other people so there was a line-up. We then thought about getting something to take back to the room. A fellow in the line in front of us said that he ordered take out for 6 o'clock and it was now 6:45. Once again the restaurant suffered from its popularity and being under-staffed. We decided to go to a local Save-On and buy something to cook in the microwave in the room. So if you plan on having dinner in the restaurant I suggest you get there before 5:45. On the down side, a new traffic interchange is being worked on just outside of the hotel and unfortunately due to the extreme heat, work starts at 5:30 AM. Since we faced the job site, we were woken up with the sound of dump trucks and excavators, however we did find the organization of what work was being done to be fascinating!…
I had a busy work month and had to stay in a couple of different hotels, Holiday Inn North Vancouver didn't disappoint. The staff was friendly, the hotel was clean. I got a great nights sleep and a great view from my room.
We were looking forward to spend 5 nights in September 2020 before our cruise on The Ovation of the Seas.... unfortunately for us it never happened. The hotel returned 100% of our deposit without any drama. Our family is looking forward to visit your beautiful city when you’ll open your doors to the world. We are watching ‘Love It or Listed Vancouver’ every night for the last 8 months and made so many plans, what to visit, where to dine, thanks to Julian and Tom:). Oh, man... I was so looking forward to it :,-( but there is a life after COVID too. We will see you soon Holiday Inn x Tatiana
This was a very nice Holiday Inn. When I made reservations I asked for two rooms. I was very pleased at check in that they gave me connecting rooms. They have free parking. There are restaurants in the hotel but they are expensive so we didn't try them. They have a good whirlpool by the indoor pool. The in room Keurig did not always cooperate.
We flew into Vancouver late Christmas Day and this served as our stop for travel north. It's nice because it's near the highway and north of all the downtown traffic. The breakfast was decent. The amenities were nice. It was quiet. All in all a good start to our trip in Canada
We stayed here because of it's closeness to family in North Vancouver. It was really well positioned to avoid the busiest of the traffic and very close to Highway 1 for arrival and departure. The room was clean, large and quiet - perfect. We ate a couple of times in the adjoining pub. On the Saturday night we moved into the hotel bar when the live music in the pub got too loud - I can't remember the name of the hotel bar but it was really pleasant too. There is a fitness area but we did not get the chance to use it.
