The Thistledown House is a true hidden gem that manages to meld comfort, service, location & hospitality into one fantastic package. While this Craftsman home has been lovingly expanded & renovated, the owners (Rex & Ruth) were faithful in retaining the style & architectural spirit. All rooms are fitted with comfortable furnishings, stylish accents & luxurious bedding, linens & robes....

We stayed at this B&B in Vancouver BC for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect and the most relaxing short "re-invigorator" I've ever had. The couple who runs it are really lovely: friendly, polite and kind and a joy to be around. Breakfast was an entirely different, artfully prepared gourmet experience every morning, our room was spotless and perfectly...

At the urging of our son and daughter-in-law, we included ThistleDown House on our motor trip retracing our honeymoon of 40 years ago. Our stay in this truly lovely house was a highlight of our adventure. Ruth and Rex are the ultimate hosts who not only serve the most beautifully presented delicious breakfasts, but tend a lovely garden that surrounds...

Rex and Ruth are the truly professional hosts - able to make their guests welcome and relaxed but also to gel the conversation and atmosphere with a variety of visitors from around the world. The house and rooms are superb and the menu (a proper menu!) at breakfast was unrivalled in our experience of hotels and guesthouses around the world....

We stayed for several nights in this beautiful B&B in North Vancouver. Thistle Down House is a characteristic charming house with very nice rooms and most kind hosts. Nice garden. We stayed in "Under the apple tree" a spacious room with private terrace, nice excellent quality furnishings, good bathroom, little comfortable sitting area. Excellent high standard breakfasts. Although the house...

Stayed two rainy days, but the welcome was warm. The house is a fabulous arts and crafts design with appropriate furnishings. Classy style with no froufrou touches so often found elsewhere. The room spacious, the bed wonderful. Offer to put on the fireplace pilot light if I liked. Breakfast is the best I've ever had in a B and B...

A wonderful B&B with fantastic hosts. The first night we slept so well and our room was great - we loved the heated bathroom floor. In the morning we had a 5 course breakfast by candlelight with great conversation with Ruth & Rex. If you love older houses you will love the way they have restored this house. We had...

My husband and I visited the ThistleDown House from Oct 17 to Oct 20, 2007 and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was our first trip to Vancouver, BC so after quite a bit of research through the awesome Trip Advisor reviews and opinions we picked the ThistleDown as our place and are very glad we did.
