Seaside Hotel Vancouver earns high marks for its clean, modern rooms and attentive service, though some guests have encountered inconsistencies. The hotel's location is a particular highlight, with its proximity to the waterfront and city attractions. Amenities are frequently lauded for their modernity and convenience. While the overall atmosphere is described as stylish and inviting, opinions on value are mixed, with some travelers questioning the price-point relative to room size and unexpected fees.

Outstanding Hotel! We've stayed many times and will continue to do so. Elliott and his staff are fantastic. Beautiful rooms, ideal location and great service.
As well, we always enjoy our dining experience at the hotels' Seaside Provisions restaurant. Happy hour oysters are a must!

We usually only have 2 other hotel options when we stay in North Vancouver and thank goodness we now have a 3rd choice. If prices stay the same we will always choose the Seaside Hotel. It has a great location and our room was meticulous. This new Boutique hotel has a great design and thoughtful floor plan. Our room had enough outlets by each bedside, reading lamps, plenty of storage both in the room and in the bathroom and great toiletries. Our room overlooked the skating rink and had a peek a boo ocean view and was lovely. The staff EVERYWHERE were very helpful and friendly. When we arrived we met a nice lad from Ireland who took us up to our room and then also arranged for valet parking. Valet is very reasonably priced. We dined 2 times in the restaurant/ bar. Service was great. Both times the food and coffee was tasty but not served hot. It wasn't cold, so not enough to complain. Food and drink prices were good and service was great. When we were leaving the hotel to go home we met up with Rino ( hope that is the correct spelling) who was so nice and asked how our stay was and hoped to see us again. I would love to see name badges on the staff as it would be great to mention a few of the outstanding employees. Overall a fantastic stay and I would highly recommend this new hotel if you are staying in North Vancouver!

Great location within walking distance to many restaurants and the market plus the Lonsdale quay. Check in was a breeze and the room was ready before the check-in time of 4pm. Room was nice but would be nice to have an actual ocean view instead of a peak. Our room was directly facing the apartment building beside us so we had to keep our blinds closed as people could see in. Room was clean and modern. Nice big shower and bathroom. Underground parking was $31 a night up until 7pm checkout day, expensive but nice and convenient. There are electrical car chargers available in the underground. Ice rink steps from the elevator, with many restaurants and cafes within walking distance. Overall it was nice but since we "upgraded" for the ocean view it would have been nice to have a complete one. Hotel staff were nice from checking in to check out, they even surprised us with a little extra as it was our anniversary.

I found this hotel online and thought the view was so beautiful. I only wanted to stay here if I got the view from my room. When I booked the room it had a small ocean view in the photo so I was willing to pay $250 (+ parking was $35/night). When I got there my room was facing the exact opposite of the water. My view included a parking lot, a view of the pinacle hotel, and the street. Unfortunately, all of the ocean view rooms were booked. I also find it weird how when I booked my room, I never got a confirmation. Only until I called to ask for a confirmation did I get one. When I get home I notice that the document they sent me said Deluxe King (which was $160 on the website) even though I was positive that I bought the occluded ocean view (the amount I paid)... and there was a big price difference between them. But anyways, there was nothing I nor anyone could do. So we got to the room and it was very nice but the following things didn't work:

The hairdryer
The fridge
The coffee machine
The lighting (had to flick the switches 10 times)
The Google Chromecast (someone had unplugged wires from theTV and we spent more time trying to fix it than enjoying it)

Also, a garbage can was not emptied out and visible cup stains were multiple surfaces. Normally, I wouldn't be too concerned about the little things but since we went during a pandemic I was shocked to notice how little attention was given to main surfaces... To add, I noticed there were stickers on all the doors to prove the room was cleaned before new guests... but not ours. In terms of staff, everyone seemed to be pretty friendly, I do wish someone had come up to help us with the T.V. after at least one of the 2 times I asked for help. They also dont have massages open on Sundays and holidays which is kind of a weird flex.

So the seaside hotel is, in a nutshell, beautiful. Chic, modern finishes are tressed with beachy accents. It's all very pleasing and it feels clean and cutting edge.

However, when does clean and cutting edge start to get in the way of an enjoyable stay?

We called the front desk (bless them) no less than 4 times during our one night stay.

First, to ask how to figure out the complicated air-conditioning panel. No instruction given there, and from passing the front desk later, we were not alone on that.

Next, we called to ask how to turn off the under bed led light. Gorgeous to look at, yes. But frustratingly complex to turn off. (spoiler alert :it's two unmarked switches that BOTH must be off on opposite sides of the bed)

And when it came tv time? Yup, another call downstairs. Their advertised Chromecast integration was not working. No solutions, unfortunately, but gracious apologies.

Finally, in the middle of the night in a pool of sweat, I had to visit the front desk to request a fan. What a diva!

Apparently, prior guests had complained about the volume of air on, so their solution at present was to turn it down, it seems. That means the rooms never dip below 20 degrees, which is fine for most, but not for my partner and I. We could not open the windows to let in airflow. Alas, a fan was supplied, and sleep could begin!

The point being the high tech finish of the rooms still felt less intuitive than it should be. Even the faucets took a fair bit of figuring out.

Yet to be fair, all of this felt like teething problems for a new hotel who's priorities have been distracted, no doubt thanks to the inconvenience of an international pandemic.

With its the gorgeous rooms, lush (but closed due to covid) downstairs restaurant, neighbouring eateries, and beautiful views, there was actually a fair amount to love. The staff were friendly and helpful, even offering us an upgraded room to accommodate our desire for an ocean view.

Though Vancouver is notorious for overpriced hotels, I felt what we paid was excellent value. Indeed, heavily discounted due to covid, but the pricing felt right.

The spacious shower was lovely, and while we didn't get the best night's sleep, we didn't really want to leave the next morning.

Parking is available but at a price. For us, 32 dollars for a single night. Steep by any and all standards.

In all, its a great new hotel with oodles of potential. I'd love to see what their corner suites look like, because our king (pictured) was, in a word, stunning.

Thanks for having us!

The Seaside Hotel is a great looking hotel on the outside but it is quite the disaster on the inside. We were planning on having a nice staycation this Valentine’s Day and had booked a room with the Romance Package at the Seaside Hotel. I had called in the day of to confirm the reservation and check in time, I was assured everything was in order and that it would be ready for us. Our check in time was for 4 pm and we had arrived by 5 pm. Upon arrival, we were told that we were early…our room was not ready yet AND we would have to wait. We expressed our disappointment and wished that we were told of this ahead of time so that we could have planned accordingly. The front desk associate was dismissive, they didn’t take any accountability and we received no apologies regarding this matter.

After waiting for close to an hour we finally got our keys and went into the room only to find that we were missing the bottle of wine and chocolates that were to be included with our package and we had to remind them about it. Normally I wouldn’t stress the small stuff but after waiting to be checked in for over 40 mins, I had hoped they would at least make sure the room had the package we had also purchased. It was the bare minimum.

Also, we noticed that we couldn’t control the temperature settings. When we asked the staff about it, we were told that we front desk controls the temperatures in all the rooms and that you had to call down to front desk to get the temperature lowered or raised. Interesting.

Otherwise, The decor was pretty nice, it is a clean hotel but the washroom had no fan and the showers had no doors. The fridge keeps your food at around room temperature. So there’s that.

As part of the package that I had purchased, it had included a $40 credit to enjoy breakfast the next morning. When we called in to order we could only order from 4 menu items that were different and worse from the menu presented online. Our drink selection consisted of coffee, $7 water and expired pop (which we had to pay for?)

We would have expressed all of these concerns had we been given the opportunity, I would have been more than happy to work with the hotel towards a solution but unfortunately I was never asked how my stay was by any of their staff. I was baffled at how a hotel can be run by such careless management who don’t value their guests. I can’t say I will be back at this hotel. I don’t recommend this hotel to anyone.

I was very happy with my stay at the Seaside Hotel. Ryan was very efficient, gracious and accommodating when I requested a room change, which I greatly appreciated. The hotel is new and modern and the rooms are very clean. Housekeeping staff does a tremendous and very thorough job, which is so important in these days of COVID. The server in the restaurant "Seaside Provisions" went out of his way to leave the patio restaurant area when he saw that I was going down the street to where I thought the entrance was to let me know that I was going the wrong way. (I wish I could remember his name, he was a wonderful server). As a result, I had the opportunity to enjoy their Happy Hour oysters and sparkling wine more than once. That was wonderful. The chef does a beautiful job of preparing and presenting the oysters for serving. Thank you to the entire Seaside Hotel team for a wonderful stay!

You can tell this hotel is very new by the very updated and high quality rooms! We stayed in one of the larger pet-friendly suites with 4 guests and absolutely loved our stay.
Bathrooms are bright, clean and have tons of space. Beds are very comfy and soft. Room had a lot of tech with tablets to control the TV and explore what's around and curtains which are remotely controlled by a panel on the wall.
Would highly recommend to anyone in the area, especially those with furry friends needing to stay with them.

We arrived at 3pm and headed to the “lobby” which was extremely uncomfortable and more of a gift shop. There was no one at the counter. So I waited about 5 minutes and then noticed there was a small closet in the “lobby.” I saw someone on the floor inside on it. A waiter came inside the “lobby” and told me it would just be a few minutes more. I saw the girl inside on the floor of the closet was doing prayers. Which is totally fine but they should have someone manning the front desk while she does prayers. When she was done she told me our room wasn’t ready yet and would call me as soon as it was. We went and found the expensive parking and went to go for a walk around the grounds. It was pouring rain and we were tired. After an hour with no phone call I headed back to the lobby where a new person was at the desk and had no idea we had even checked in? He tried doing the entire ordeal over again with me. I explained we had already checked in. I was annoyed no information had been passed on and we would have been left outside for god knows how long. It was an extremely unfriendly experience and very very unprofessional. We were given our room keys. Not told about the free breakfast we apparently had. The room was nice the bathroom being the nicest part. But it was cramped with the silly swinging chair inside. Very pointless and took up space. The room felt clean which was nice and the bed was comfortable. All in all the room was decent but the staff was terrible and it did not feel like a luxury hotel. You can make the rooms as nice as you want and add in all the fancy things like a tablet and bed lights but if the service isn’t there it makes the entire experience fall short. I will continue staying at Fairmonts where I pay a similar price but the service is top notch.

My partner and I decided to stay at the Seaside Hotel for our anniversary, and I am so happy we did. Everything about the hotel is amazing. Every employee is friendly, helpful and willing to go the extra mile. The hotel room itself was gorgeous and huge, it was decorated with thoughtful pieces and felt very “West coast”. I loved the attention to detail in the room. The location is perfect, steps away from all the new and fun restaurants and events happening in Lower Lonsdale. During our stay we did have a slight hiccup with our booking but the staff handled it so well, it didn’t even affect our experience. It was a shame we had to check out, I would have loved to stay longer. I can’t wait to visit again and even try the restaurant!

Is there a gym ?
Answer from Jason L
Dear Brian, Thank you for the inquiry. We don't have a gym room on site, but the hotel provides our guest with the access to John Braithwaite Community Centre nearby where is a high-rated facility to work out at hotel cost. Please feel free to reach out if we can be of further assistance. Yours sincerely, Elliott Wang Hotel Manager

Is there street parking nearby?
Answer from Taryn N

If one has time, one can scope out areas where there is $5.00 parking. The amount for parking will vary depending on the time of the year, and what events are taking place; keep in mind, the five dollar price point may not be very close to your hotel so if you don’t mind walking with all of your luggage or unloading at the hotel and then driving to a parking spot, that could be an option.

What do people mean by “check in is in the middle of a restaurant” ? Is it hard to find? Uncomfortable?
Answer from guestJ5763CV
Burnaby, Canada2 contributions1 helpful vote
Check-in is not "in the middle of a restaurant". It is simply that the check-in desk is in a small office adjacent to the ground floor restaurant. Because it is a small desk in an enclosed space, only one guest can stand at the desk at a time unlike reception areas at larger hotels. If there is someone ahead of you, you need to wait outside the room and this may feel like you are in the entry way of the restaurant. It is by no means a big deal and the check-in area is absolutely not hard to find.

North Vancouver, Canada
Hi Sokkerski, thank you for reaching out. Yes there is a charge for parking. We offer both self and valet parking. Alternatively, we have a parking package on our website and that will give you a better deal than if parking was paid separately. Thank you and regards, Seaside Hotel
