I've stayed here for 3 months while working on a mountain. Suite Deals is close to the bus stop and I chose it for the convenience. Plus it's fully furnished and includes internet, phone, tv, water, power etc. The furnishings were a bit lacking though - missing things like a plug, spatula etc. and very old.
There is no insulation so noise travels really far. I can always hear the guy above me singing in the shower and we were told not to wear shoes - they're too loud on the wooden floor.
The street is very quiet but on foggy days you can hear the ship fog horns in the harbour.
The landlord is difficult to reach as she has strange and irregular hours. She has an office located on site but lives elsewhere.
Washing is $2/load, so is drying.
But yea, the price sucks. I'm in a 2 bedroom with 2 friends. I pay $700/month for my own room and they pay $550 each (total is $1800). But geez, $550 and you don't even get your own room?? Total rip off.

My family and I stayed here for 4 months. Finding a short term rental in North Vancouver is tough, however if you can find elsewhere than Suite Deals or Trillion Realty then go for it. The bathroom is tiny for a family (even though the apartment was advertised as a family apartment) and during the Summer months the ventilation is so bad that the whole apartment stinks. All the floors are hardwood so you get constant noise from the people above. There is a smoking section outside the main entrance and we constantly had to go through this section whenever leaving or entering. The smoke often drifted upto our bedroom so if you are a non-smoker BEWARE!
The rent is negotiable for the length of time you stay. People constantly move in and out so it's always noisy. The land lady is very unapproachable and rude. She just a wants your money, and as much as she can get. Rates are negotiable on length of stay, but ensure you get something in writing. Our rate was only honoured for 3 months, and as we had just purchased a property had to stay for 4 months and where charged a higher rate for the last month.

We rented a suite here for 4 months while we were waiting for our new condo to be completed. It is always difficult to find short term accommodation especially for a time frame of more than a couple of weeks as a hotel would be far too pricey for such a period. Booking and move-in was super easy and the owner was very accommodating and friendly. A couple of minor issues we had during our stay were addressed promptly. The location is hard to beat, only footsteps away from Lonsdale Quay Market (Seabus to Downtwon Vancouver every 15 minutes from there). The building is located in a very quiet street, so traffic noise is pretty much non-existent. It is an old building so yes the walls and floors are not sound proof, however this is a general issue in western Canada even in newer buildings, so nothing out of the ordinary there. For a longer stay, for sure I would recommend asking for a top floor suite if available. I would stay here again, it worked out well for us.
