We stayed at the Tamri Motel for 2 nights, on either side of a trip to the Kootenays. Our rooms were not fancy, but were clean, reasonably priced, had kitchenettes, with a large grassed area and picnic tables in front of the rooms. The owners were friendly and helpful. The motel is a small complex that is located in a quiet area, right across the street from a nice beach and close to a beach park, as well as being close to town and the Nk'mip Desert Cultural Centre.

We stayed at the Tamri in July 2011, I was a little nervous because I have never had to rent a hotel in Osoyoos. There are many places to choose from but we were on a budget which restricted our choices. The Tamir is a clean and family friendly environment. The decision maker for myself was that it had a kitchen and the price was right. Yes it was small, but with two little boys in tow we spend most of our time at the beach anyways. We were able to set up our little BBQ (there is also one supplied) and we ate our dinner at our picnic table and sat outside in the evenings. The owners are very friendly and very helpful. There was a fire pit with marshmallow roasting and everyone at the campsite was invited. There is a boil water message from the Health Region but what most people don't know is that it is suggested for most of the town not just this motel. If you are looking for privacy and space then this would not be the place for you, but if you are looking for a clean, friendly place to sleep, cook and eat then I would highly recommend this place to you.

Our group of 4 different families stayed here from August 25-28th and we all had a fantastic time. Peter and Sylvia (owner/hosts) were super nice, helpful and friendly. We had seniors, toddlers, teenagers, middle-agers, a dog...and everyone enjoyed our time here! From the clean rooms (yes they are basic but have everything you need!) with comfy beds, to the beautiful grounds and close proximity to the beach (just across the street) if fit all of our needs. There is plenty of grassy areas for relaxation or to throw a ball and play. Picnic tables and chairs/loungers, lots of BBQ's. All in a beautiful setting surrounded by apple trees and orchards. The older kids loved the pool table and foosball table, the toddler loved the climber and slide structure, and the adults loved hanging out playing cards and having drinks at the picnic tables! The beach was lovely, and so close you could run back to your motel room anytime you forgot something! This is such a cute, clean place in a convenient location. The price is unbeatable for Osoyoos...and they even have camp sites for those looking for a more rustic experience without being squished into one of those over-crowded rv/camper places. We will be back again for sure!

I made a prior reservation at the Tamri hotel/campground and upon arrival was stunned by what I was offered. It is a small, very old strip motel with campsites on the grassy area directly outside the motel doors. When I was hesitant to camp for the night, the owner offered me their last motel room which was old and dated from the 1950's so we refused. Since the town was sold out, we set up camp for one night on the grass. The owners apparently thought their guests wanted to hear their Polish dance music because it was blasted throughout the camp/hotel site until evening. There were also a group of very noisy girls that played outside screaming after 10:00pm when several guests complained to the manager who then just told the girls to play quietly. I finally told the girls to go home and go to bed. The only positive is the location which is directly across the street from the lake.

We booked this motel as the price was the most reasonable I could find in July in Osoyoos. We have stayed here once before when our sons were younger. The motel hosts are very accommodating and friendly, the room set ups are a little strange with no sink in the bathroom. The rooms are very tired but exceptionally clean and the beach is just across the street

My boyfriend and I went road tripping thru BC last month, Decided to zip down to Osoyoos (we were staying in penticton). Our first night in Osy we got in later than expected and stayed about a 5 min walk north of this lil motel, can't rmb the name, waterslide place. It was nice that it was up on a hill a bit, nice view. But it was $35/night for tent camping. The next morning we went for a stroll to scope out other campgrounds, hoping to find something cheaper. We found the Tamri! $28/night, small and quiet, right beside an orchard. The owners were very nice. I definately reccomend this motel. Weather your camping like we did or staying in the hotel.

Let me begin this review by saying that hotels in Osoyoos are really expensive. The cheapest chain hotel I could find was $140 per night, and since we were there for a high school reunion, we were just looking for a place to sleep, as we were busy all day. So if you're not going to spend much time in your room, or have several children, this is the place to go. However, that being said, the rooms are small. The bedroom had 2 double beds, but in order to fit them in, one was faced vertically and one horizontally, and no room to walk around them. The bathroom was incredibly small, (about half the size of a cruise ship bathroom) only a shower and toilet, not even a sink. You had to use the sink in the kitchenette to wash your hands. It did have a full kitchen with microwave, full size fridge, utensils, etc, but the television was on top of the fridge due to lack of space. There was a couch in the kitchen which pulled out to make another double bed, but when pulled out it would have blocked access to the bedroom and bathroom. The only mirrors were on the kitchen wall. You also have access to a barbeque and can eat the apples on the trees. It was only cleaned and towels replaced once we left, which they told us about when we checked in, but it was clean when we got there, I even moved the bed (as far as I could) and it was clean underneath it. It has air conditioning (essential in Osoyoos) and is across the street from the lake. There is also a campground on the hotel grounds if you want to pay even less than the hotel.
So if you're looking for a less expensive alternative for a hotel in Osoyoos with just the basics and don't suffer from claustrophobia, this is a great place.

Upon arrival to the resort the owner was very rude to both myself and my girlfriend. The owner seemed surprised that we brought our 19' camper to his rv resort. We were moving our camper to Osoyoos for our summer get away spot. We rented a room for the night. We did meet friends at the resort that had been staying there for about 3 weeks prior to our arrival and had been having issues with the owners son entering their travel trailer in their absence, and stealing packages of cigarettes and medication...As we (4) people were sitting outside our friends camper, the owners wife approached the camp site and informed us that we were being to loud and needed to be quiet. At this time the owners druggie son was in a rage and they were all arguing inside their ONSIGHT residence.. Quite honestly we could barely hear our own conversation over the yelling coming from inside their trailer home... I will never stay at this place ever again, and I wouldn't recommend anyone stay here. The toilets were dirty and disgusting as well.

Myself, girlfriend and are little schnauzer stayed at the Tamri from August 14-20th.
The weather was beautiful, the location was perfectly located across the street from a dog friendly beach. The Hotel(resort) was well maintained and very clean. The rooms are older but have all the amenities you need and the beds are very comfortable. Sylvia and Peter are very gracious hosts and will accommodate all your needs within reason. This was our first time here and plan on returning every summer. It was one of our favorite vacations!

I have been going to Osoyoos for 35 years from a youngster with my parents to taking my now grown children and my parents. We camped until kids were young then went to the Tamri around '98. I think it is a person's expectations that make or break your stay. We camped for years, moving into a little cabin for holidays was a step up. I don't want hotel living, this is a 'camping' experience for us. That said, the 'new' owners are wonderful, accommodating, pleasant and clearly hardworking. We love that we are steps away from the lake, that we are at the farther end of Lakeshore Drive so not a ton of partying kids and that it's consistent. We arrive every year and it feels like home. Love the Tamri, love Osoyoos and can't wait to get there tomorrow!!

Do you have free wifi? Is it available in the motel rooms?
Answer from Desty123
Vancouver, Canada12 contributions3 helpful votes
yes they have a free Wifi and even though I was in the farthest room from the office, I still had a connection, and could even watch streaming videos. I guess it depends on your equipment as well, as when I was using my tablet it was worse than when I was using my laptop
