Welcome to the Avalon Inn, located in the heart of downtown Osoyoos, British Columbia. Just across the street from Tim Horton's, and a five minute walk away from the shores of Osoyoos Lake, this family owned motel can assure you a good night's rest. Although we are located just off Main Street / Highway 3, we offer one of the quietest accommodations in the community as each classically furnished room is soundproofed for your privacy and peace of mind. Here you have access to free Wi-Fi internet, cable TV with free movie channels, and a refrigerator and coffee maker in each room. We are within just two minutes of walking distance from a number of restaurants in the area - everything from casual to fine dining - though if you plan on creating your own home-cooked meals, we have fully equipped kitchen suites just for you. There are also barbecue facilities located in our lush courtyard, where you can lay back in the sun or relax under the shade of the maple trees while listening to birds chirping away cheerfully. Most of our rooms are pet-friendly, as long as you have non-shedding/non-allergenic pets! Rattlesnake Canyon Amusement Park is less than 3 km away, and the Osoyoos Golf & Country Club is a 5 minute drive from the motel. We don't have much of a lake-view of Osoyoos Lake from our balcony suites, although we do have good views of Peanut Lake which is quite close to the motel.

Detailed Reviews
Great location, close to many restaurants and stores.
Had a kitchenette and it had everything we needed.
Room was pretty clean- only issue was the mattress for the pullout bed. It was pretty stained so I slept on the couch. Not the greatest sleep but for one night it wasn’t a huge issue.
There are no elevators, so request a bottom floor room if you don’t want to do stairs.

Recently stayed for two nights with my dog. Location is great, right on Main St a few blocks up from the beach. Everything you need within easy walking distance. The room was clean and comfortable with full kitchen and lots of tv channels for when you want to just relax. Would definitely recommend this Inn for anyone looking for clean, reasonably priced accommodation in Osoyoos.

I have stayed in over 100 hotels and this is the worst one I have ever dealt with by far. The leadership tried to add extra fees and then overcharged my credit card for the promised amount. This was also done after we were told that we could not stay in the room we booked, but they could find one for more money.

Response from Avalon Inn, General Manager at Avalon Inn
Responded Jul 17, 2022
Mr Jamieson, You were a no show and we charged your credit card accordingly. You need to manage your bookings, When you book with a third party travel agency like expedia it is your duty to cancel through them. we messaged you a reminder of your upcoming stay a few days before arrival. You could easily have cancelled. I find your review slanderous and may need to take legal recourse if I continue see this post and others like it from you.

We were not looking for a 4-5 star hotel/motel but we do have expectations.
We expect a place to be clean, the bathtub was not, the balcony floor had something spilled and sticky on it about a 2’ square right outside the door.
The AC unit was no more than pushing warm air around, neither the telephone or TV worked when we checked in so we had to have someone up to reset or repair them while we were out. The walls were painted with very dark colours, and with the front window being where everyone walks by your units, almost everyone keeps the curtains closed for privacy, the layout quite awkward.

Great location, on Main across from restaurants, gas station and Tims. Quiet stay, rooms good size; great value for price paid, comfy beds, friendly staff.
Easy to visit around town and enjoy the comforts of home in room.
Mini fridge, microwave, coffee machine were all very handy. Would stay here again; def recommend to others.

I can't say how disappointed we were to arrive in Osoyoos at the Avalon Inn to find our "Lake View" room does not actually have a view of Lake Osoyoos, that HUGE lake in the center of the city, but in fact we had a very miniscule view of Peanut Lake once you look past the mobile home park and power lines between the hotel and the "lake". Having paid extra for the "beautiful lake view" I was understandably miffed when I checked out (should never have accepted the room, really) and stated that I felt they had misrepresented the situation. The woman was rude and implied that any idiot would realize that it was obvious by their location that a view of Osoyoos Lake was impossible. When I pointed out that her customers are visitors to her city and could be expected not to know the topography, she became defensive and stated that most people loved that room, further implying that my complaints were insignificant to her. No apology, no offer to reduce to a "non-view" rate, just poor service. As an american visitor of Canadian citizenship I was embarrassed that others would think all Canadians are so rude.
The room was fine, quite nice really, but don't be fooled by the "room with a view" b.s.

Well, the rooms looked nice on their webpage, but when we got there and saw the thing in person, it was baffling. There is barely enough space to walk around and the TVs were located in an awkward position.
Front desk was not very polite. When I had something to ask, they didn't even care to look me face to face.

At the Avalon Inn you get what you pay for. A good, clean basic motel. It is not a 4 star resort, but it is not trying to be. I rented a room with separate bedroom and a living area / kitchen. It had a private balcony at the back which was one of it's nicest features as it allowed for delightful air flow and I was able to leave the door open all night. I was on the second floor. If there was a weak point, it was the bed. The one in the room is old and badly in need of replacing. New pillows would be nice too.

No, pool at the Avalon Inn.... Try the Super 8 just up the street.
Sorry for late reply but our accessible rooms do not have kitchens.
Sorry, I'm not sure about pets at the Avalon Inn.
We do have some rooms that are pet friendly. We charge a $15 fee per night, if you decide to bring your pet.
