Nestled among picturesque wineries, Spirit Ridge charms guests with its scenic location and welcoming atmosphere. The service is often lauded for being attentive, although some guests have pointed out less-than-stellar housekeeping. Rooms are appreciated for their cleanliness and amenities, even if noise and dated decor have been mentioned. The hotel's adult pools and family-friendly spaces receive positive remarks, yet some visitors feel the pricing is steep given the overall value and infrequent room cleaning.

Great stay with the family. Beds were incredible and rooms were spacious and nice. Housekeeping definitely needed to be better as my room was not refreshed during our 4 day stay. Housekeeping doesn't provide you with a sponge for dishes but instead you can buy one at there market for $3.50 which was ridiculous.

Would be nice if they offered room service but not a must. Pools were nice and good views.
The shuttle to the beach was great!!

reception is very welcoming and helpful. Food is very good and the view is great. Because I was traveling with my dogs and they like to swim and play on dog beach so much, if the hotel could have an exterior water hose or some sort of dog washing station would be very helpful. My dogs had dirty paws after we spend sometime on trails and I asked the staff if I can rinse their paws before getting back to my room. However, there are no wash station or water hose we can use. I ended up to use bottle water wash their paws. It’s not a big deal. But with a wash station could also help to keep the interior public area clean and maybe people can wash their feet after walking in desert. I always bring dogs on trips and most hotel or resort have a exterior water hose or similar.

What wonderful accommodation! Our party of 11 p, ages 7 to 84 were accommodated in 3 suites of differing sizes. Our suite of 3 bedrooms featured 3 en-suite bathrooms with safety bars & two built-in seats in 2 of the showers. Much appreciated as two couples were seniors with some mobility &/or balance issues.

The suites are exquisitely appointed from the point of view of furniture and in the kitchen. A tv in every room plus one in the living room allow for group viewing or individual viewing. On the one day we were blessed with sunshine, we all piled onto to the balcony to enjoy the view.

If I were asked for recommendations, I would make two: a handrail in the bathroom as the toilet is quite low, and brighter lighting in the kitchen.

That being said, we highly recommend this establishment for groups of any size or age.

This resort is expensive but is missing some of the bells and whistles you would expect when you pay this amount.
The family pool was great, however, pool toys were not permitted, there was no service to the pool deck and there was often garbage laying around.
Restaurants-there was no family restaurant on site. My definition of a family restaurant is one that has a kids meal with options under $15, with options for picky eaters, a separate seating section for families.
Room cleaning is not a regular occurrence. Now that Covid is over I would expect a resort with this price point to provide daily room cleaning. How is it that the prices have gone up the daily cleaning has been reduced to “upon request” and “checkout” only. Best westerns (with similar amenities) have gone back to daily room cleaning and are much more affordable.

Dear Famjamholiday Thank you for sharing your feedback We understand that finding a family-friendly dining experience is important, and we appreciate your insights on what makes a family restaurant special. While we don't currently have a designated family section we do offer a separate kids' menu with options under $15. We also have two other dining options on site that are a little more family friendly. Our Market offers chicken fingers, burgers and pasta and our lakeside Footprints "family friendly" Beach Bar is known for its excellent fish & chips, salads, and hot dogs. We will also note your comments regarding our daily housekeeping services and will discuss with our executive team. It is our protocol to provide 3 options for housekeeping services including daily service. Some choose not to be disturbed but this should come with an offer to deliver and replenish any amenities including fresh towels and take away any unwanted items 24 hours a day. I apologize that this was not granted or offered. Again, we value your feedback and will take it into consideration as we work on improving to enhance your experience Sincerely Sally Sharpe Director of Operations

My wife and I just stayed there on the August long weekend. We stayed in a beautiful room with a full kitchen, family room and large bathroom with a greater soaker tub. On the second night we wanted to use the tub and the hot water was brown. We called down to the front desk and they said to let it run for 15 mins. The first photo was at the beginning and the second photo was after 15 mins. The water also stained the tub, which required cleaning after and wiped down. We then realized that when we turned the shower on it to was also brown but only slightly. This meant on the first night we showered with dirty water. The second day we didn't bother showering because what was the point. We brought this up to the front desk, who spoke to the manager and all we got was an explanation of why it happens, no discount and not even a sorry. For a hotel of this calibre and price point, we will not be returning.

Dear Chris Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience with us. I sincerely apologize for the issues you encountered with the water quality during your stay. This is certainly not the standard we hold ourselves to, especially for valued guests like you who chose our hotel for a relaxing weekend. We understand how disappointing it must have been to experience brown water when using the tub and shower, and I am truly sorry that we did not handle the situation with the care and attentiveness you deserved. The explanation given, without a sincere apology or appropriate gesture, fell short of what we expect from our team in such situations. Please know that we have already addressed this issue with our Front Desk Team. We have revisited the communication and resolution process to ensure that all future concerns are met with the highest level of empathy and care. We deeply regret that your stay was impacted and would love the opportunity to make it right. I would like to personally invite you and your wife back to the hotel for a future stay, where we can ensure everything is up to the standard you expected and more. Please contact me directly so we can arrange this for you. Once again, we are truly sorry for the inconvenience you experienced and appreciate your feedback, as it helps us improve. I hope we have the opportunity to welcome you back and regain your trust. Sincerely Sally Sharpe, Director of Operations

Neither Expedia or the resort has communicated to us that not the entire resort is pet friendly. So when we arrive the hotel with our dogs, I have been told that no pet-friendly room is available and we have to stay in a non pet-friendly room and pay for a "deep cleaning" fee on top of the regular pet charge. For 2 nights of stay, we ended up with almost a $300 bill for just the dogs! With this crazy amount charged to the room, still no water bowl or pet bed have been provided during the stay. I have travelled with my dogs to various locations in BC and this is by far the worst experience.
Noise can travel quite well tho throught the walls, I can hear foorsteps and phone conversations from our next door guests.

Other than these, the resort and the rooms are very nice, located right next to the NK MIP desert center. The adult only pool is nice and quiet, balcony and the BBQ is a nice touch too!

I stayed at Spirit Ridge years ago when it was relatively new. It is situated in the midst of desert and vineyards overlooking the lake and the town of Osoyoos - an incredible setting. During this recent trip I was surprised at how “tired” this property looked and in need of maintenance and upgrading. We paid for an upgraded view room but were really disappointed. Sitting out on the balcony was not very pleasant because of the multiple loud air conditioner units near us. These are probably old and need maintenance or replacing. The staff were very pleasant and moved us a few suites down but in the end it didn’t help as these loud units were everywhere. This, along with the many very bright exterior lights of the villa directly in front of us at night, really did interfere with our stay and the upgrade for a view was not worth it. There are many other examples of resort areas that are old and need upgrading. Another disappointment was that the Nk’Mip Cellars patio was only open on weekends in “shoulder season”. This is a lovely spot for lunch. We did, however, enjoy our 9 holes of golf at Sonora Dunes that is situated on the property. So to summarize - Spirit Ridge location is spectacular, the staff were all very pleasant and helpful but the resort needs attention and does not seem to be up to Hyatt standards.

Not clean. Do yourself a favour and stay elsewhere. Check in took 45 minutes despite having 2 young kids. Arrived to a room that was still very dirty (filthy)- like hadn’t been cleaned at all- sheets had pubic hairs and dirt from previous guests; crumbs all over the floor under the table; kitchen table and bathroom sink (toothpaste) still dirty. Hotel was very apologetic and came and changed sheets and cleaned upon arrival but that should never happen in any hotel in the first place let alone paying $500 plus a night. Took 1 hour to get a bellman to bring bags up. No towels or robes in room. Staff said they would get more but took 2 days. Repeated calls to front desk. They only offer cleaning every 4 days but we asked for cleaning every day since had 2 kids. Assured daily cleaning . First day they didn’t even clean bathroom but left a “hazardous do not leave around children” cleaner in the washroom. Seemed surprised to get call to remove it. No room service at all. Positives: beautiful view from the lake view room; staff very nice and attentive at winery and terrace. Hotel has a lovely location but lacking any proper management and organization. Stay elsewhere!

Currently staying at the resort with our friends and family. Check in process took almost an hour. The lady didn’t even give us proper direction for how to get to our room. We had to ask other guest. At check-in we gave all the adult guest names and how total kids in the room. At check in they only gave up rooms cards and no mention on wrist bands. When we went to the pool some of us were told you need wrist bands to be in here. One by one we went so the kids can play at the pool still. When I went to go grab my band and my daughters the guy(manager) rudely came out of the back and said this room is maxed out for their bands. I’m like do you have system to tell me that we are. Are you marking it down? Did you cross off the list I gave you? He kept ignoring me and kept talking rudely and arrogantly that he gave us all 9. I’m like why would I come here and lie. It’s not like your wrist bands unlocks any doors, it’s not like it distinguishes me from other guest because everyone can use the pool who’s staying at the hotel. It’s not it let’s unlock the pool gate ( I can use my card. It’s only to staff know we are guest and you can take my ID to see I am the person who the room is under. Only reason I want the band is because that’s your hotel policy for us to wear it. He kept being rude and said no. So did pulled out my phone and started recording because the group beside me were getting the same treatment too. Soon after he got all quiet and handed everyone the bands. I have never in my life of travelling encountered a hotel staff member like this guy. Staff are always trained to be polite and speak with respect.
In addition, we took the shuttle to the lake. After we got dropped off shuttle guy told us to call lobby 5 minutes before pickup. When we called the lobby for pickup they told us the shuttle system is on hold up because they had to send their shuttle guy to Kelowna. They told us to either walk back or wait for another 21/2 hours. At this point I lost all my hope for this hotel staff. It’s sad because it’s a lovely place with great amenity but the the disorganization and lack of respect from staff really puts you off from coming back. I will definitely be sharing the video I made with the general public to see.

Stayed here for 5 nights with family. The check in process was a nightmare. We arrived at 2pm, 2 hours before checkin and were checked into a bottom floor unity that faced a cement wall. This was after requesting a high-room floor with a view. After getting to the room we called and asked if we could be transferred to a higher floor. They told us this would be totally ok and that we would just have to wait a little while for the new room as it was not quite ready. We agreed to this around 2:30 and ate in their restaurant for the wait. We did not get our new room until well after 6PM, we waited in the lobby with screaming kids. Every time we asked for an update, it was the standard "we aren't able to confirm where housekeeping is at the moment, shouldn't be too much longer". It wasn't until the point of meltdown with out children who were overtired that finally we started getting anywhere with the hotel on our room status. The on-shift manager did offer us comp'd meals at the local restaurant, however when we called to place our order when we finally in our room, we were offerred only 4 free appetizers - unacceptable and deceptive. The manager also explained that new rooms take 4 hours to clean and we explained had this been FULLY communicated to us when we asked to switch rooms, we would have never agreed to switch. She even admitted to us that they intentionally do not tell guests this to not "upset them".. After staying here in 2019 to AMAZING standards, me and my wife wanted to show off this property to my parents and bring our kids. The room we ended up with was on a higher floor with golf course views, however, the stove had issues and was broken, there was missing light bulbs throughout the unit and flickering light issues. Some of the chairs in our room were BADLY peeling. The units have dropped in quality and even the grounds have not been kept up to Hyatt standards IMO. Stay at Walnut Beach or Watermark until this property gets it's act together.

Dear Guest I am sorry to hear about the wait for your room and the delay caused by having us prepare a different room than the one we had originally prepared for you. The resort is going through renovations now even as we speak but unfortunately the new furniture that was supposed to be here at the start of March is currently not going to be here until the fall due to the various supply chain issues allowing us to replace certain furniture pieces in the room. We will continue to work on the property renovations to improve the product. Thank you for your feedback. Kind regards, David
