Just returned from a fantastic 3 night stay at the Observatory. I highly recommend this as a place to stay. As others have mentioned the house is beautiful. There is an ideal view down to the lake and out over the mountains.

Jack and Alice were very accommodating, answering questions and informing us about day time activities that they recommend.

Our evenings were filled with interesting discussions about the universe. Jack makes a complex subject very approachable. The highlight of the evening was going upstairs to the dome where Jack keeps his half meter telescope. As a group Jack then toured us through the heavens showing us planets, stars, nebulas and the NEOWISE comet. What a great way to end the day!

In the morning all guests gather for breakfast at 8:30. A very enjoyable breakfast was served to us each day as we sat looking out the windows enjoying the view. One morning a fawn even walked beside the house as we ate.

After breakfast Jack offered us a unique opportunity. The chance to see stars and planets during the day. We headed back up to the dome and he showed us that it is possible to see stars and planets even during daytime. We ended our morning observations with looking at the sun through a special telescope. We could even see sun spots one day.

I also wanted to mention that I think they are doing a great job with working around the Covid-19 issues. They have put in place requirements to wear a mask when in common areas and I saw them carefully sanitizing one of the rooms after a guest had checked out. I felt comfortable with the virus risk while I was there.

If you are looking for a place that is slightly out of the way, peaceful, quiet, has great views and offers the interesting addition of astronomy I can't think of a better place to stay!

Jack and Alice are wonderful hosts and the accommodation is comfortable. The only downside was the lack of sound insulation between the rooms so we could hear every word of our neighbours' conversation. The view from the house, seeing stars and planets and learning so much about them from Jack is what makes this place so special. Jack and Alice were very careful to keep their guests and themselves safely distanced which we appreciated very much.

We had a great stay at Jack and Alice’s B and B. We could sit on the patio outside our room and look at the view all day - one of the best views in the world. And, with Jack’s enthusiasm about all things in the sky and Alice’s hospitality, the stay was one we will always remembers. Definitely worth a visit.

Staying at this B &B was a dream come true. I have driven by it for years and decided it had to be the first stop during our Girls Road Trip. We stayed in the Eclipse Room which had 2 bedrooms, 1 with single beds, a living room and sliding glass door to a narrow patio overlooking the lake. Jack and Alice were wonderful. Alice made us a wonderful breakfast. Jack gave us a slide show of his astronomy experiences and showed us the stars with his awesome telescope the next morning when the sky cleared. Hummingbirds entertained us thru the windows as they feed at feeders. I want to go back and spend more time painting the view!

We stayed with another couple in the Saturn Suite at this B&B. Though the suite does sleep 2-4 people, as advertised, it does not do this comfortably with 4 adults. The nice-sized bedroom holds a comfortable king bed and has an adjoining bathroom. The couple sleeping in the living room get an old, uncomfortable sofa bed and have to go into the other couple's bedroom to get to the bathroom. When the sofa bed is opened, there is hardly any space left in the room. The suite would likely work OK for a couple with two children, but I do not recommend it for three or four adults.

That said, the suite would be lovely for just two adults. The sitting area with no sofa bed opened is comfortable and has an equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator and microwave. The view out the glass sliding doors is awesome. The B&B sits high on a hill, overlooking the town and lake; and the air-conditioned suite has a patio so guests can sit outside and enjoy the vista while sitting in the sun. All three rooms at the B&B open to this view and are at ground level. Parking is available.

At 10 p.m., guests are invited to the observatory at the top of the house to observe the night sky through a telescope. Jack Newton, who owns the B&B with his wife, Alice, is extremely knowledgeable about astronomy and spent more than an hour discussing the planets and stars. Each guest had many opportunities to look through the telescope. After breakfast the next morning, Jack invited guests upstairs again to observe the morning sky.

Breakfast is served at a long table upstairs in a dining room with an even more spectacular view. Our breakfast featured French toast with a small vial of maple syrup delivered to each guest. We were all warned to be careful and not to spill the syrup (it would stain the table). The vials were collected immediately after use to ensure no accidents happened. This detracted slightly from the carefree breakfasts we have come to expect when staying at B&Bs.

My rating would have been higher for the Observatory B&B if our suite had been more suitable for the number in our party.

We stayed with friends in a two bedroom suite that was very comfortable for four. The view was so spectacular that we bought food and "ate in" both nights rather than going back into town. Jack and Alice are lovely people and the time in Jack's observatory was incredible. Highly Recomended!!

I thought this place looked interesting when we were looking for a place to stay in Osoyoos. Though my husband and I don't know much about astronomy, we thought it would be an experience. It was so much more than that! Alice and Jack are so warm and welcoming. The room we had (the Saturn room) was amazing, with it's fossil sink and incredible view. It's a huge suite as well, and so very clean. It even has a kitchenette (though we didn't use it).

They have a book of restaurants for the area, and recommended an Italian restaurant for us to try, which was fabulous. But the best part was yet to come - at 8:30 we met with Jack in the living room, where he told us information about the cosmos, and then invited us up into the observatory. We spent about an hour and half viewing stars, planets and the very full moon. It was absolutely fascinating, even though we didn't know anything about astronomy before we arrived. I look at the sky in an entirely different way now.

Breakfast was wonderful, served in their living room/dining room that has the most amazing view you have ever seen. Wish we could have stayed longer for the morning visit to the observatory, but we had to move on. Hopefully we'll be able to return!

Jack and Alice are wonderful hosts! Im not even sure where to begin really. The rooms are so comfortable with beautiful views of the Oosoyos valley. They even provide a grill for all the guests to use, so if you dont want to eat out you can dine with the best views in the area!

In the morning you go upstairs to join Jack and Alice for breakfast at their dinning room table with floor to ceiling windows overlooking the valley. Breakfast has been really delicious and Alice makes good use of the variety of fresh, local fruits. After breakfast there is some star gazing, and some sun viewing as well!

In the evening you go upstairs to listen and learn and to view the stars. Jack is wonderfully entertaining with all sorts of stories of various discoveries, and will give everyone the brief astronomy 101 course. You get to see so many galaxies and stars that it is unreal.

You really could not find a better experience and place to stay. We will be coming back and have already (in a span of 2 weeks) told everyone about this place.
