Arrived August 23, Left August 29. This is our 2nd Time staying here. Our last visit was in 2012. I didn't realize the park was under new ownership, but the couple that greeted us were very friendly and helpful. We're coming back next year, and will definitely stay here again. The Park is quiet, and you can't beat the location. It's also well maintained. The public washrooms could use a splash of paint, or maybe some new tiles, but otherwise they were very clean. I'd have no problem recommending this RV Park to friends or colleagues.

We came to this wonderful RV park and extended our stay by one day due to ist great location directly at the lake of Osoyoos and the very helpful staff. The new owners bought this place only in 2014 and already put plenty of effort in it to make it an even better place. All very well maintained and including a little shop and a "Sugar Shack" right on the beach. If there is anything to improve then it is the free WiFi connectivity.

We stayed for a week at this RV resort. The owners Dawna and Doc were extremely accommodating and strive to keep this resort and washrooms clean as a whistle.. The sites are across from a gorgeous Lake and have beautiful views of the lake and the boats that are moored on it.. The beach is clean and sandy, with lots of ducks waddling around. The water is shallow and nice and warm for swimming. There is a dock, and it is fun to watch the boats come in and out , maybe even bring your own. You can sit and watch water skiers, jet skiers, paddleboards, kayaks etc. The lake is gorgeous and especially beautiful in the evening when the lights start to pop up across the lake, Like a Spanish mountain. We had our morning coffee on the beach and took a walk along the walkway. There is a nice little store at the entrance that sells groceries, supplies, kayak and paddleboard rentals and ...ice cream. Doc will even bring out the big screen TV to watch an afternoon ball game (Blue Jays) The pretty little town of Osoyoos is very close by and you can walk to it from Island View. We enjoyed visiting some local restaurants, drinking local wine, visiting the produce stands in the area. I would highly recommend this beautiful homey resort. Doc even sets out in the evening to sing a few tunes with the full time residents of the park. We loved every minute we were there and we didn't want our week to end as quickly as it did.

We RV fairly extensively through Canada and the U.S. This place is ok, nice sites although we usually prefer a more natural setting. Nice private beach too. The check in staff are super friendly. The guy that does maintenance (owner or staff, not sure) is one of the most obnoxious people I have ever encountered working in the tourism industry. There are plenty of other options along this stretch of road including Waltons where we stayed before without the abuse. I would give my money to them in future. Absolutely appalling display of customer service, in front of the entire beach too. Sad individual. No excuse for that type of behaviour.

We thank you for your feedback on our resort and your experience here. I am aware of the issue and understand this involved non compliance of the wristband rule for our private beach. It is not always pleasant being on the receiving end of authority in such circumstances. Allow me to explain: we have a bylaw in place stating that wristbands we issue must be worn at the beach. The purpose of it is to control access to our private beach so that only registered guests are on it. It is similar to a hotel pool for example, for registered guests only. We have since however, had discussions as to how to enforce the wearing of bands, so that the situation does not create animosity with our clientele as it has done here. Please feel free to email should you wish to discuss further. all the best, Dawna and Doc

We have been going to this place for 10 years. Great owners/caretakers when we first started, then it was sold, again very nice people, but appeared over there head with the business side, eventually got frustrated and sold again. Unfortunately it is not such a pleasant place to camp anymore and we will never go back. Part of the reason is our RV's have grown over the years, from 27ft to 40ft to 44ft now and they have very limited spots, and some of the ones that will fit are not level. The beach is very nice, the park itself is clean with paved roads, good location as well. The main reason we will not go back is because of the stress the new owners/caretakers can give you. I get stress at work, I come to Osoyoos to relax with my family. Two people seem to be in partnership that run the place, a female and male. The lady is fine, not the warmth we were use to, but hey, it's their business and she takes it very serious. Her biggest problem is the jerk she has running it with her.

Thank you for your input regarding your last stay with us. Rig sizes are indeed getting larger and increases the complexity of accommodating specific site requests. Very few sites can accommodate rigs in that size range. Assigning sites is based on rig sizes and length of stay. Every effort is made to fulfill specific site requests but it is simply not always possible. We have numerous visitors who have been coming to this resort for years, and new clientele, who provide such positive feedback on a daily basis and are enjoying all the improvements we have undertaken since our takeover here. It is difficult to respond to the issues you had during your stay due to the vague statements such as 'new owners causing you stress'. If you would like to email us with specifics we would be happy to address your concerns. All the best, Dawna and Doc

We have been rving for many years and the views here rank with the best. From space 107 we have a panoramic lake, mountain, vineyard view. Sitting on our patio watching the sunset over Lake Osoyoos is marvellous. Waking to the sun on the mountains just as good.
The owners are friendly and charming. The park is very well maintained. Excellent laundry. The showers are good but could do with a little spruce up. Private beach. We are staying here for a month and the owners helped us get our own internet service which is a fantastic 15Mbps. If you have to reply on the campground wifi then it is iffy.
It is a bit too far to walk into town but there are a few restaurants within reasonable walking distance. All in all we highly recommend this park. We are very much looking forward to enjoying the rest of our stay.

My husband and I booked for four nights (both of us seniors, husband is 70). Our second morning there we were woken up at 7 am by someone banging on the door. We did not answer it at first as we had no idea who it could be. The banging got louder and after the third time, my husband opened the door to the park manager/caretaker. He demanded that we move our trailer in twenty minutes as the people next to us were having a vinyl fence put in. Apparently, although we were not over our campsite line, we were too close. My husband told him that couldn’t happen (it takes us at least an hour once we are out of bed, packed-up, and disconnecting services takes more than 20 minutes). The manager went ballistic. My husband then closed the door on him. He yelled for us to come out and then screamed, “move or I’ll tow it if not done by 7:30 am”. I texted his female partner and asked for a refund and she sent it immediately. We were not comfortable staying there with a hot headed, out of control manager. Apparently, even though there was no hedge between the sites, at one time there was. We were aware not to park near the hedge and we didn’t. We were in contravention of strata rules we were told, even though there was no longer a hedge where we parked. At 7:30 am the manager was beating on our door again, and this time he had brought in the police to evict us! Unbelievable to us! I explained that we had received a refund from his female partner and had no intentions of staying. Obviously, his partner knew what a hot head he is and had no problem sending the refund right away. The last half hour had been nothing less than terrifying and extremely upsetting for us.
NOTE….they advertise free wifi but it is only available if you stand outside the office. NOTE….they advertise pet friendly, but there is no areas within the resort to relive your dog. You have to walk outside the resort and down the street. NOTE…. The manager/caretaker drives around telling you it is IMPERATIVE that you spend one afternoon at an Orientation meeting. This is actually a sales tactic to sell you a strata site. NOTE…..it’s called Island view but there is no island. The view is of the peninsula which is the provincial campground. NOTE…..Resort is tiered. Expect sites with a concrete wall and concrete pad and vinyl fencing.
BEWARE manager/caretaker was a hot headed bully and I would not recommend even a short visit. Waltons is just down the road.

We stayed for 4 nights at this lakefront RV resort. The owners were very accommodating and the sites have beautiful views of the lake. There is a nice clean sandy beach to enjoy with a dock for your boat if you bring one. We did not bring a boat but this is a great place if you have one. The lake is gorgeous and warm for swimming. There is a small store on site with groceries, supplies, kayak and paddleboard rentals and my favorite...ice cream. Morning walks along the lakefront walkway is simply beautiful. The town of Osoyoos is very close by and an easy walk from Island View. The valley and region surrounding this place is beautifully filled with fresh produce stands and endless wineries. We sure enjoyed sitting out with a glass of local wine in the evenings watching the sunsets over the lake from our spot. A very special place which we hope to return and enjoy again sometime.

We were evacuated due to a fire in our community and upon calling around there were no RV parks that had any last minute availability. Dawna and Doc - the owners of Island View RV made a spot available for us immediately, and were very accommodating during our stay. Doc helped me to park the trailer as I had never done it prior, and Dawna even discounted our nightly rate due to our evacuation situation. The kindness of the owners will not be forgotten, and we will definitely be back. The park was immaculate, had wonderful views of the lake, and all necessary amenities were available. We feel very blessed to have come across this RV park and the owners.
