** This review is for Sunday Brunch Buffet ** we all had a surprised wonderful family Sunday Brunch Buffet today , Do not judge a book by it's cover , when I first arrived and I was not impressed at all , located on third floors next to the casino at the Ballroom Convention Centre , there is two line , one for walk in and the other line is for reservation , room set up like a retirement reception , very spacious no decor with big number holders on the tablet , do not feel like a Sunday Brunch Buffet place wow ! I was wrong ! when I went up to the food station , I was amazing to seen so many variety different drinks and foods around from breakfast item to seafood and roast beef and ham most important is the good quality of the food , not a extravaganza buffet but excellent for the unbelievable price , $44.95 for adult , Senior $36.95 , for sure you will pay double the price at any downtown hotel buffet , my highlight of the buffet is the cold seafood section , prawns and mussels very good quality and nice size , I honest to say I had less over two pound of the mussels by myself ! and all the hot items lot of choices , plus there is Omelette and Benedict station make to order and the chef very fast , friendly and helpful and he made me one of the best western Omelette I had for awhile , variety milkshake goes like hot cake , roast beef little tough and sushi is okay but not that great , desert have nice selection , over all , every one was happy and surprised so relax , do not feel be rush and not too crowd , so if you looking for a great Sunday Brunch Buffet , try the Coast Convention Centre , only half hour drive from Richmond , it worth the drive and for sure you will find it so relax and comfortable plus the food is excellent !

The hotel is what one would expect for a down town hotel. We were on the north side with a view of the bus loop, entertainment of drug deals and all the emergency services you can think of arriving to deal with unconscious drug users. Being attached to a casino means there is little parking in the evenings so if you leave and come back anytime after 6:00 there is no parking in the lot. Hotel is clean and staff great. Just down town and casino makes parking a bit of a pain.

This review is for the Sunday Brunch Buffet that is offered at this hotel. My experience here overall was good! I'll start off with the good stuff. Pros: - Abundant Parking - Solid food selection - Minimal waiting times overall - from getting our table to getting our food. Overall, we had a good experience here! I thoroughly enjoyed the food selection (the crispy pork with corn sauce was unique and the best thing I had). Parking was easy to find as well which was a positive. Reservations were encouraged so I made one a week in advance, but they also had a walk-in line. I would also recommend the reservation however because even though it's a big space, it was quite busy. There was one thing that I would consider a con for this place and it was the feel/vibe of the meal, particularly how it was set up. The buffet is in a huge ballroom/conference centre and with how everything was set up, it didn't feel like I was having brunch but rather, I felt like I was in a wedding reception. The tables are good for large parties, but it felt quite large for two people. Price wise, I think it was fair for what we got. I would still recommend you to check it out if you're in a buffet mood! Pillows are great, but the mattress is horrible. I tossed and turned all night, woke up with a sore back. It was like sleeping on a brick. I usually love hotel beds, this one was bad. No information in the room about room service, had to go down to the lobby to take a picture of a QR code and order in from Boston Pizza. Cleanliness seemed ok, need to replace shower curtain as it was covered in holes.

We have probably stayed at the hotel 30 + nights and have always been very happy with our overall stays. We stayed the night of March 28 in room 515. When we left on the morning of the 29th I, in error, forgot my super soft down pillow in a grey silver silk pillow case. This pillow was very obviously not a hotel pillow even in once glance. Because we were on route to another destination we phoned a little later in the afternoon. The person on the phone was completely uninterested and so much so that it took three tries to get her to even understand what I wanted. She finally said she would check and phone us back shortly but no phone call. Later that night attempted another call. Again the promise of a call but nothing. Whoever cleaned that room on the morning of the 29th did something with it. I would like to have known what. Some kind of explanation would have been courteous. Im of the mind that if they didn’t care to contact me with some kind of update they didn’t care to even investigate.

The casino had no power 1 night then next day hotel had no power / internet which cost me a big deal that I was supposed to zoom in. Not having adequate back up generators cost me a lot of money. I believe that if they want a better review they would refund $$$ not pleased about missing out on a Huge meeting due to no power .

Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was warm and friendly. Atlas restaurant was amazing as always. Everything was easy and went smoothly. There was a big storm that night and we heard nothing. The light in the bathroom was still working as well as the side table alarm clock? All good though.

Our stay was not at all what we expected. I had requested that our room be set up for 3 adult Women but it was just set up for 2. When I called the front desk, the phone rang busy for 1/2 hour. We finally went down to the desk to ask for all the missing glasses, towels, hangers & cups. Someone did bring everything up. There was a number designated on the phone in our room for room service - only to be told at the front desk that there was no room service. We had 2 rooms booked that night - the King room my brother had was just fine. We wanted to reserve for breakfast in the morning because our Mother just turned 92 and we wanted to eat and visit before everyone went their separate ways but guess what - Starbucks was the only place for breakfast?? Really??

The only significant interaction I had with any hotel staff was checking in. I had booked online that morning. I ended up joining coast hotels rewards and booking on the coast website instead of one of the endless discount sites. This turned out to be a mistake. The lady at the desk couldn’t find my booking since apparently they don’t show up for the hotel for same day bookings. She implied I was making it all up to get a cheaper rate and although I was sure I’d got a confirmation on the website I couldn’t find any email. She was all set to charge me $20 more per night when I finally looked in my junk mail folder where confirmation had ended up. At this point i thought perhaps she might become more pleasant to deal with no luck. I finally got keys and headed to the room to find neither key worked. So I had yet one more interaction with the front desk lady. I can’t describe her as rude but she leaves you feeling like everything is your fault. The hotel itself in perfectly adequate but it’s doubtful I’ll ever visit it again. I think back to my previous trip to the lower mainland and my stay at the BW in North Vancouver where the night time front desk gentleman actually came outside to help me park my over sized vehicle. I will stay there next time. Customer service matters.
