The casino had no power 1 night then next day hotel had no power / internet which cost me a big deal that I was supposed to zoom in. Not having adequate back up generators cost me a lot of money. I believe that if they want a better review they would refund $$$ not pleased about missing out on a Huge meeting due to no power .
Hotel was clean and quiet. Staff was warm and friendly. Atlas restaurant was amazing as always. Everything was easy and went smoothly. There was a big storm that night and we heard nothing. The light in the bathroom was still working as well as the side table alarm clock? All good though.
Nice hotel with friendly, helpful staff. Rooms are nice with very comfortable beds. Casino and Starbucks on site! Great location for shopping and restaurants, and wineries. I will definitely book another getaway again.
Our stay was not at all what we expected. I had requested that our room be set up for 3 adult Women but it was just set up for 2. When I called the front desk, the phone rang busy for 1/2 hour. We finally went down to the desk to ask for all the missing glasses, towels, hangers & cups. Someone did bring everything up. There was a number designated on the phone in our room for room service - only to be told at the front desk that there was no room service. We had 2 rooms booked that night - the King room my brother had was just fine. We wanted to reserve for breakfast in the morning because our Mother just turned 92 and we wanted to eat and visit before everyone went their separate ways but guess what - Starbucks was the only place for breakfast?? Really??
The only significant interaction I had with any hotel staff was checking in. I had booked online that morning. I ended up joining coast hotels rewards and booking on the coast website instead of one of the endless discount sites. This turned out to be a mistake. The lady at the desk couldn’t find my booking since apparently they don’t show up for the hotel for same day bookings. She implied I was making it all up to get a cheaper rate and although I was sure I’d got a confirmation on the website I couldn’t find any email. She was all set to charge me $20 more per night when I finally looked in my junk mail folder where confirmation had ended up. At this point i thought perhaps she might become more pleasant to deal with no luck. I finally got keys and headed to the room to find neither key worked. So I had yet one more interaction with the front desk lady. I can’t describe her as rude but she leaves you feeling like everything is your fault. The hotel itself in perfectly adequate but it’s doubtful I’ll ever visit it again. I think back to my previous trip to the lower mainland and my stay at the BW in North Vancouver where the night time front desk gentleman actually came outside to help me park my over sized vehicle. I will stay there next time. Customer service matters. …
Was so terrific to be able to return . Stayed here many times over years. Location near friends n close to highway to venture further into Vancouver. Casino being part of Hotel also an attraction. Biggest challenge at Hotel entrance handicap parking very limited.
The hotel was clean and relatively inexpensive but there were a bunch of little things that were annoying. The beds were awful and the pillows were worse. Our key cards constantly failed and we kept having to go back to the front desk to get new ones made. 3 times in 3 days. Also only one elevator was working and even it was making scary noises so we preferred not to use it, but being on the 6th floor that wasn't fun either. It just wasn't a great experience.
Hotel room conditions on Sept 12 2022 room #206. I normally do not complain however, please see pictures below. Truly not acceptable, air-conditioning unit filters have not been cleaned in months, shower curtain torn and window sill with hair and dirt. I really hope the sheets were clean! I will think twice about staying at another coast hotel.
The homeless in the car park caused a real sense of insecurity. When I went out at night for groceries, I wanted to take a root back through the casino. I was confronted (rudely) by a security guard who said it was policy not to let someone even walk through the building with "outside food and drink". I was carrying sparkling water and chips all in sealed containers. it was not alcohol or in open containers. As a guest of the hotel this was un acceptable. These two things combined mean I would not stay in this hotel again.
Enjoyed our stay. Staff was excellent. Highly recommend! The Cascades Casino on the other side of the lobby had free coffee and pop and both the Match and Atlas restaurants were excellent! Lots of nice nearby shops within walking distance.
