The stay started well with a very pleasant front desk lady who was very friendly. We had booked time at the pool, which my kids loved. The beds were very uncomfortable, which made it difficult to sleep. The breakfast consisted on basic fruit, yogurt and prepackaged muffins. The vending machines did not work. The friendly front desk lady was short staff and it took 40 minutes for additional blankets to the room. We will not return to this hotel.

I have a mixed feelings about this hotel. Before my trip I had several questions and communication with the hotel was great and I even got a call from hotel instead of answering me by e-mail, so my 1st impression was that this hotel had a great customer service. However, when we arrived, the communication was not very good. During this trip we stayed in 6 hotels, and only in this hotel nobody told us there is no housekeeping. It is normal situation due to covid, but clients need to be informed about it. When I asked for a new set of towels, I was given just big ones, I asked for small ones, I was given only face towels, I asked again for hand towels. Is not set means all of them? There are 2 buildings, regular hotels room in the main building and one bedroom kitchen suites in another building. We stayed in kitchen suite; this building is also pet friendly. Very spacious, queen bed in a common room, which is more convenient to sleep, than sofa. Queen bed in a bedroom. Big fridge, big dinner table, only 2 dinner chairs and one office chair which wad dirty with dog’s paws prints. The first impression was that the room was very clean, but later we noticed that a carpet has a lot of dog hairs that you cannot really see until you look at your socks. Kitchen has very little beside cups, glasses and plates. One pan, 2 pots and a drainer. It would be nice to have at least cutting board, and big bowl for salads. The range was disgusting. Looks like somebody was cooking and all the splashes burned into the area around the burners, and nobody bothered to clean it. Only one burner was working. This burner was small, but the pan was probably 10 inches and was very uneven, so when I tried to fry eggs, they all ran to the side of the pan that was in the air and didn’t touch the burner. It was a challenge. Our room faced the side opposite highway and was very quiet, but the parking on this side is in ruins. The other side of the building looks much better. So, from one point the hotel is nice and clean. As soon as you start looking, you find a lot of stuff that could be fixed easily. We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights and everyday it was one small thing after another that made our stay there by the end not very pleasant. May be if you stay in the main building, it is different. The last drop was a check-out. There was a note, if you do not like something, let us know, if you like us, write a good review. That is not how it works. If you right a review, you mentioned everything, good and bad and let other people decide. I thought, OK, if I would be asked, how was my stay, I would let them know what I was unhappy with. Nobody asked me, so I decided I will mention it all in the review and let the readers to decide if this hotel worth staying there. But I will not be coming back. This is for sure.

Not really sure why place's charge a pet fee that is per pet per night? $98 to have our 2 family members with us on this vacation. They never looked after our dogs so I don't understand why they have to charge that, no one would charge per kid per night, anyway we stayed in the motel part which was ok because then we don't have to walk our dogs down hallways to go outside, Bed was a little hard for me, a dirty coffee cup in the cupboard, so not sure how they clean. Some of the guys that were on crews stayed above us was very rude, was a ok stay

At check-in the guest ahead of me had a dog and the front desk agent allowed them to stay in a non-pet friendly room. What is the point of having pet friendly rooms when pets are allowed to stay in any room they like anyway. Not a great situation for people with allergies. Pool was busy with yahoos not following the rules and management not enforcing them. Again, what's the point of having rules if they are not going to be enforced. While sitting in the hot tub with my two young children the maintenance man came and dumped in some powdery chemical...pleasant stuff to inhale... thanx for that. Next morning, in the breakfast area, pets were allowed to enter; no doubt this is against a number of health and sanitation codes! Didn't stay for breakfast because of that and the number of people in the area. No masks and no social distancing in effect! Oh, HVAC unit in the room noisy but had to leave on as room got hot quickly. Overall it wasn't the greatest experience. Will look elsewhere next time in Hinton.

I would like to thank Dave and his wonderful staff at the BCMInns in Hinton for a wonderful and relaxing stay. Nicki at the front desk was pleasant and the sweetest and always willing to help and answer our questions. I came with my daughter and my two grand sons, the pool and the water slide were excellent for them and the perfect depth- which gave my daughter a bit of a break as she did not have to be in the water with them. The room was tidy and well kept as was the rest of the property. Beverly in Edmonton
