The Hinton Lodge will be my go-to accommodation whenever I'm in the area again. The staff was attentive, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was covid-friendly and delicious, and the rooms were quiet. Honestly, it was everything you could ask for if you just need a place to rest your head at night.
I booked via priceline or booking.com and stated 2 adults and 3 children with their age (see photo for referral), the price was cheap so we click book now, it came out only 2 adults and we can't change any number person because there is no option to change it other than the beginning website that we click. (That's where the confusion begin)
We ended up paying double the price! It said $58, we paid $107 because they charged $10 for My 2 children.
See the photo that I post, it didn't stated there that kids need to pay, it stated there that extra person need to pay $10 for extra bed but they have no room for extra bed???? It also said there that kids under 12 years old are welcome. Come on guys... is this how you get the business?
I arrived early and asking for a WiFi because I want to use gps to explore Hinton, the lady not even give us a smile (march is her name) gave us an old password, when I asked that the password didn't work, she explain its an old password and we will be given a new password inside our room. Seriously, why not say that hotel don't have password? Why need to be lied and gave us a NOT WORKING WIFI! I have 3 little children, and we are a tourist! is this how we should be treated?!
I asked her and argue back and forward and she (march) totally ignorant and blame the website (priceline/booking.com). I am not happy, and just stay there for 1 night because it's late already and my kids are tired.
If this is how you cheat to get customer, I hope you got your own karma, including the lady name March. Will never be back
The 45 minute drive back to Jasper the following morning was beautiful, with a couple of rainbows filling up a valley and a small herd of elk at the side of the highway.
Breakfast was good you go to the breakfast area say what you would like you are served and just go back to your room to eat then bring back the tray afterwards easy set up.
Check in and out was quick and easy which is always good.
Certainly would stay again.
Our room (2 Queen Beds with Kitchenette) was very clean, comfy and quiet. The helpful staff showcased professionalism and kindness that exceeded my expectations. Sheila at the front desk is definitively the BEST and she significantly enhanced our stay :)
Hot breakfast is included and located in the main floor. Very basic but what do you expect when it is free. The lady in charge of the breakfast (the guardian of the place) was always checking from the corner of the room to make sure everything was okay and cleaned. However a nice smile on her face would be appreciated as her resting face was not very approachable.
I look forward to returning in the future and experiencing the excellent service the team at Hinton Lodge provides.
P.S If you have extra time in Hinton, you must go to the Canadian Steakout located at 417 Gregg Ave (great restaurant) and go to the Beaver Boardwalk (408 Colline Rd) to explore the wetland system. A nice 3 km walk on wooden trails. A great opportunity to see the beavers in action and look at their dam and lodge. The best time to see them is during morning or late afternoon/early evening. Well worth a visit for everyone and family with kids.
Staff could be more polite and better trained.
Breakfast was continental-bagels,muffins,scrumbld eggs,sausages...I guess, i was not lucky to have a bagel with mold... Would not recommend to anybody...
