Check in was okay but they didn’t follow up with a request online to book two room close to each other, however the desk clerk rectified the situation quickly. Rooms were a bit dated but not bad with the bathrooms looking very clean, with large bathtubs and requisite shower head/curtain. Modern a/c worked well and lodge was quiet. Key cards were a bit finicky. Breakfast was provided with a voucher for the room beside the check-in desk, with an attendant serving toast, bagels, sausages, scrambled eggs, with other options, although no cereal. We had to go back up to our rooms to brush teeth, etc., but the desk attendant gave us the bill and deactivated our cards even after we said we’d be back down. Obviously I should have spelled it out a bit better. Just frustrating when you are in a hurry.

If you're a budget traveler like myself and refuse to pay the unbelievably inflated rates to stay in Jasper, then staying in Hinton is your next best option. Sure, it's located about 50-60 minutes from Jasper, which is a bit of a headache, but your wallet will thank you.

The Hinton Lodge will be my go-to accommodation whenever I'm in the area again. The staff was attentive, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was covid-friendly and delicious, and the rooms were quiet. Honestly, it was everything you could ask for if you just need a place to rest your head at night.

Booked this hotel due to reasonable price, proximity to Jasper & positive comments from other travellers. Was not disappointed! Rooms are large with ample space, small kitchen area with bar fridge, microwave, one cup coffee maker (paper pods). Clean, comfortable. Close to Jasper. Strongly recommend.

1 star is for the new hotel building only.
I booked via priceline or booking.com and stated 2 adults and 3 children with their age (see photo for referral), the price was cheap so we click book now, it came out only 2 adults and we can't change any number person because there is no option to change it other than the beginning website that we click. (That's where the confusion begin)
We ended up paying double the price! It said $58, we paid $107 because they charged $10 for My 2 children.
See the photo that I post, it didn't stated there that kids need to pay, it stated there that extra person need to pay $10 for extra bed but they have no room for extra bed???? It also said there that kids under 12 years old are welcome. Come on guys... is this how you get the business?
I arrived early and asking for a WiFi because I want to use gps to explore Hinton, the lady not even give us a smile (march is her name) gave us an old password, when I asked that the password didn't work, she explain its an old password and we will be given a new password inside our room. Seriously, why not say that hotel don't have password? Why need to be lied and gave us a NOT WORKING WIFI! I have 3 little children, and we are a tourist! is this how we should be treated?!
I asked her and argue back and forward and she (march) totally ignorant and blame the website (priceline/booking.com). I am not happy, and just stay there for 1 night because it's late already and my kids are tired.
If this is how you cheat to get customer, I hope you got your own karma, including the lady name March. Will never be back

I am too cheap to stay in Jasper, and the drive to Hinton is lovely, so we chose this property. It was wonderful. We had one of the most comfortable beds I have ever slept on. The room was very clean. Because of Covid the breakfast set up was altered. We had servers who dished out the delicious scrambled eggs and sausages and poured our drinks for us.
The 45 minute drive back to Jasper the following morning was beautiful, with a couple of rainbows filling up a valley and a small herd of elk at the side of the highway.

Really nice room spacious took queen bed reserved with Expedia the bathroom also was a good size so if you were a family of 4 you would have space.

Breakfast was good you go to the breakfast area say what you would like you are served and just go back to your room to eat then bring back the tray afterwards easy set up.

Check in and out was quick and easy which is always good.

Certainly would stay again.

We had an unexpected overnight stay in Hinton. We randomly chose the Hinton Lodge and were so glad we did. We stayed in a king suite ( 2 rooms, livingroom/bedroom) for a very affordable price. The room was very clean, comfortable and quiet. We were pleasantly surprised at the quality of their free breakfast. Hot food as well as all the usuals. Front desk staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitly recommend this hotel.

Great location in Hinton!! Only a few minutes walk to restaurants & stores: Walmart, Canadian Tire, McDonald's, Burger King, Fat Burger, Wendy's, Tim Hortons, Boston Pizza and more...

Our room (2 Queen Beds with Kitchenette) was very clean, comfy and quiet. The helpful staff showcased professionalism and kindness that exceeded my expectations. Sheila at the front desk is definitively the BEST and she significantly enhanced our stay :)

Hot breakfast is included and located in the main floor. Very basic but what do you expect when it is free. The lady in charge of the breakfast (the guardian of the place) was always checking from the corner of the room to make sure everything was okay and cleaned. However a nice smile on her face would be appreciated as her resting face was not very approachable.

I look forward to returning in the future and experiencing the excellent service the team at Hinton Lodge provides.

P.S If you have extra time in Hinton, you must go to the Canadian Steakout located at 417 Gregg Ave (great restaurant) and go to the Beaver Boardwalk (408 Colline Rd) to explore the wetland system. A nice 3 km walk on wooden trails. A great opportunity to see the beavers in action and look at their dam and lodge. The best time to see them is during morning or late afternoon/early evening. Well worth a visit for everyone and family with kids.

This is a hidden gem. This is our first time here and I would recommend this place over any others. It is top notch for cleanliness, modern and location. The breakfast included was very good, hot or cold with good variety. The people here are very friendly and they obviously take pride in what they do and manage. I have stayed in places all over North America and this place beats most high end accommodations out by far. Big hotel chains should be taking pages out of this managements playbook. They were great. I have no problem giving this place a gold star and oh for those who think you get what you pay for, stay here and see how much others are taking advantage of your dollars. This place was very very reasonable. I have paid twice as much and received less for my dollar. Try it, you will be pleasantly surprised. GREAT Accommodation!
