Spent 3 nights here revisiting Alberta rockies from Britain partly to show our 2 teenage sons some real wilderness. Used to live in Edmonton so knew the area but not Wilmore. Rocky Mountain Escape was the best part of a wonderful trip. All 4 of us loved Laura, who is friendly, helpful, funny and cooks up a great meal. We... More

We had a great New Year's Eve stay with Chris and Laura. They have a great setup if your looking for a relaxing getaway to rustic log cabins with great food and access to hiking, snow shoeing and xc skiing. The cabins are cosy with great log burners, peace and quite. The guys cooked great meals for us, served in... More

My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of staying at the RMEC during Thanksgiving weekend this year. Our stay was perfect and completely memorable. The cabins are impeccably clean, cozy and well constructed - the heat retention in the cabin is so good that both nights my boyfriend and I overheated from the warmth the fireplace exudes. As the reviewer... More

My family and I have just come back from three nights with Laura at the escape cabins. It was superb. The cabins themselves are beautiful and wonderfully made. Yes, there is a sulphur smell from the hot water, but as long as you know about it, it is an irrelevance. The food provided (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are of high... More

I'm glad to see that these cabins are in tripadvisor now. I went to RMEC in Fall 2011 and had a great time. Laura provided awesome attention to us. They picked us up at the bottom of the hill with her 4x4 truck because our compact car wouldn't make it all the way up. After checking out the cabin, we... More

Our family of 2 adults and three kids (aged 11,9 and 6) stayed at Laura's one-of-a-kind eco retreat in July 2013. In all our months of travel we really loved this place and the fabulous hospitality and very personal experience. After four nights we really felt like part of the family. We so appreciated the effort made to tailor our... More

Nov 9-11, 2013. Amazing again. My husband's and my second trip. Peaceful, quiet cabins heated by a wood stove with homey seating and a comfy bed. Friendly and kind Laura and Chris who were fantastic hosts, cooks and company. A wonderful guided nature hike with them and sweet Leo and Mollie, the "guard" dogs. Excellent conversation shared over a glass... More

I am embarrassed to say that this review is long overdue, but even though we had the pleasure of staying at the Cabins in Oct of 2011 it is still fresh in our minds. I finally today, managed to post pictures of our wonderful trip for one of our fantastic tour guides, who we manage to keep in touch with.... More

We arrived Friday afternoon at the resort and were greeted not only by Leo and Molly but also a warm cabin with the fire already started and waiting for us. After unpacking we headed for supper where we got aquatinted with 2 other great couples and were served an incredible supper of roast beef with mashed potatoes and baked vegetables,... More

Occasionally we travel and have places that we stay that are so special that you wonder if you should actually tell the world they exist..... or just keep them to yourself! Rocky Mountain Escape is one of those amazing places. Laura runs the most unique, inspiring, and spectacularly beautiful accommodation we're likely to encounter, and our 4 nights were the... More
