Detailed Reviews
We booked a two bedroom suite and were blown away by how nice it was. There was a large kitchen with high end countertops and appliances and plenty of pots and pans and kitchenware to cook with. The living room had a electric fireplace (nicer than I thought it would be) and really nice and comfortable furniture. We were lucky enough to have a suite on the back side of the property and our large deck had stunning views of the Three Sisters mountain range. We had two large bedrooms, the website says one has a king and one has a queen but I'm pretty sure both our bedrooms had king size beds! One bathroom had a large walk in shower and even a full size washer & dryer and the other bathroom had a truly massive soaker tub (weird set up though where the water from the tub pours down from the ceiling!). Everything about our suite screamed luxury and high end such as slate flooring in the kitchen and bathrooms and even really nice pebble moasics in the master bathroom. Did I mention I was impressed?!!! The hotel doesn't offer housekeeping service unless you're there for more than 5 nights (we stayed for 4 nights) but we were fine with that. I really appreciated that they left us enough supplies for our entire stay so there was tons of toiletries in the bathrooms (really nice Aveda products), double the towels we ended up using and even plenty of coffee in the kitchen (from a local roaster no less).
The location is perfect and only about a ten minute walk to the beautiful city centre of Canmore. I highly recommend taking time to enjoy the town, you could easily spend a day or more just enjoying the shops and cafes and walking the fantastic Policemen's Creek trail system that you can access easily from the hotel.
I only have a few small quibbles:
The deck furniture was not very comfy and not the same quality as the interior furnishings though it looked like some units had nicer ones.
There were several lightbulbs out in the kitchen and the unit was quite dark over all.
We didn't have a lot of interaction with the front desk staff but they were all friendly and efficient. The onsite restaurant is open and was amazing (it's an all gluten free menu!). We stayed in late June and the hot tubs were all still closed due to Covid which was a bummer.
Overall this was a fantastic stay and I really enjoyed Canmore more than Banff. We'd stay again in a heartbeat!

Would recommend. The rooms were big and comfortable, tub was fantastic! The room comes with a washer and dryer, was detergent but no dryer sheets and unable to buy at the hotel. The kitchen was nice but didn't have some of the normal utensils you would want (like a spatula) felt like it was just things people left there... no actual inventory. Fast internet, the radio kept turning off due to being "overloaded" which may have been due to heat as the AC wasn't working in the room so we had to keep the hall door propped open.

Booked a one night stay for a last minute getaway after having stayed at Silver Creek Lodge several times in the past and enjoyed it each time. Unfortunately the quality has gone down a lot since my last stay. Upon arrival, the tv in our hotel didn't work and we had to be moved rooms. The tv remote in the second room also didn't work but the tv could turn on manually and we were tired of moving rooms so didn't complain again. First room had bathrobes provided, second room did not. The hot tubs have been permanently closed, but we were not advised by the hotel of this until AFTER booking the room. The bed was very uncomfortable and not properly ventilated, making it very hot. Windows can't be opened due to large air-conditioning units installed in the windows so the room also got stifling hot. The fur blanket in the room had definitely seen better days. We did enjoy the fireplace in the room and the sushi restaurant in the hotel is lovely. It would be nice if they provided actually cream in the rooms for coffee rather than just powdered whitener.

I found the staff not amenable (early check-in off season was a hard no, zero effort to help with safe bike storage). I understand there are specific hours for check in and out, however most hotels are amenable as it makes no difference to them. Also, I’ve had great success with hotels offering up wax rooms, and other storage options for mountain bikes - sorry I don’t want to leave a $7,000 bike in chain link locker in a parkade that many folks have access to.
Pull out couch shouldn’t be advertised as bed - I don’t expect high comfort on a sofa bed but this was pretty horrendous (think half inch of foam over springs)..
Clean enough (beds, etc). However, inside of door of oven has spatters, entrance floor tiles were dirty and slow drain sink in bathroom. Also the kitchen tools (pots pans utensils and glasses were minimal (barely enough for three people in a day, pots scraped up Teflon).
Nice updated interior, not old and good amount of space for my partner and mom. Really lovely terrace/porch area.

My GF and I work for the same company doing shift work. Every 2 weeks we get 1 day off together. Every so often we decide on my last day on shift to drive down to Canmore from Edmonton with our 3yr old. We did this again, leaving Edmonton at 5:45pm so we could spend the night in Canmore and get a full day in the mountains before returning for her to start work.
We arrived at The hotel at 9:50pm to see a sign on the door saying the office closed at 9pm, but at 10pm there would be a third party security company available to assist with after hours check in. (Not sure why they don't stay open till 10pm and eliminate the 1hr gap. It wasn't so bad for us being only a 10 minute wait - but if we had arrived earlier would not have been too happy).
Security guard arrives, helps us check in. We take the elevator (shaking most the way up). We open the door to our room to see that it was completely trashed. There were broken wine glasses, the bedding was thrown all over the place and garbage on the counters. Needless to say that after a hour drive with a sleepy toddler we were less than impressed. Now with the fact they don't even have any staff on, they couldn't give us another room.
We were lucky enough to catch the security guard before he left so we at least had a witness that it wasn't us that did that to the room, and he must have been nice enough to send a follow up report as Expedia gave us a full refund without even messaging/calling them yet. Which is why we booked with Expedia (reviews on Expedia customer service is 5 star).
Unlucky for us, at 1030pm we now needed to find a new hotel which cost nearly double.

The staff were kind, respectful and helpful. The room was tidy and neat, we stayed for 2 nights and we loved the view. Definitely a recommendation for a family of 6. The hallway's were always quiet and there was no yelling or noises around us. The people at the front desk were the most respectful and funny/kinda people you'll meet!

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for one night. When we arrived after a long day, there was no one at the front desk so we had to wait. When the staff member finally showed up, check-in was quick.
The hotel room was not quite as large as it looked in the photos and certainly was not set up to be user-friendly. The fireplace was in front of the king size bed and jutted out with a tv on top of it that also jutted out. The bed had a platform which stuck out so when passing by the bed, you had to be extra careful not to hit something. This was harder than you think. I have bruises. The bed was on the low side but comfortable.
The room had an AC unit on the floor which was the size of a small fridge and was in the way but it worked nicely.
The bathtub was massive and it was hard to get in and out of. I am short so had one neck of a time. Older seniors would have a terrible time. The shower head was awful. As you turned the knob to turn shower on, it would go to different settings and the temperature would change as well. Even when you turned the shower off, the temperature changed dramatically. Not something you want to deal with first thing in the mornings.
There was underground parking - the parking spots were quite narrow.

Silver Creek Lodge is a luxury hotel, in par with the best hotels in the area in which we had stayed (i.e Falcon Crest, Grande Rockies, Copperstone). Rooms are large with big balconies, generous bathrooms, fully equipped kitchens, very quiet AC, etc. The only drawback is its location. It is situated close to Trans Canada highway and one can hear constant noise. I guess the other side (facing away from the highway) is more quiet but we have never got lucky enough to be located there, despite requesting it every time. With windows fully closed the noise is bearable however. The hotel does not have any grounds (no picnic area, no BBQs) .
We stayed there a few times and noticed a few glitches during our two last stays in August 2021. First : our room was allocated also to someone else by a mistake and we had a visit by strangers opening our doors with their keys. This was corrected promptly. Second: there were dirty dishes on balcony and the dishwasher was not unloaded. Hopefully, these were exceptions and not the indication of deteriorating service. We have noticed that the staff changed from last year, perhaps they are still learning. And, of course, we have noticed that prices went up a lot from last year.

Ok so I get all the Covid excuses but this takes the biscuit. There must be some sort of quota rule for the tourism board to have X number of 3 star hotels in Canmore but this should not classify as one of them. It’s shabby, tired looking and feels grimy.
The suite (2 bedroom) had no AC and according to the front desk they had contacted a 3rd party 3 days ago and still no sign.
The patio had electric cables everywhere and the obligatory red neck bottle with cig butts left for that extra bit of ambiance..
So my advice, keep looking.
