The room was absolutely neat and clean! The room was decorated with high quality decorations and furnitures. The bed was very comfy and the linen and pillows were very comfortable. Blanket was light but kept us warm enough. I had a very good sleep. The common area was very cosy, I spent couple hours chatting with my friends there. We tried the dry sauna in the next morning and it felt so good. The breakfast was packed in a basket which can be picked up from the reception in the morning. It was more like a grab and go kind. The overall experience of our stay was positive and I would give a score 9 out of 10. I highly recommend this hotel to all of you :)

This was our first time staying at the Basecamp. We were very pleased. Our room and reception were very clean. This place is modern and updated with a rustic feel! The bathroom was filled with Rocky Mountain Soap products including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. You would not even need to pack these next time! They change your door lock so you don’t need to carry around a key or card, which was very convenient. There was a breakfast in a box available each morning which included apple, juice, cheese, granola bar, and yogurt. This was enough for us to get started on our day! Front desk was friendly and helpful when we requested ironing board, more coffee pods, and restaurant recommendations. We did find the parking lot to be very tight and most of the spots are for small cars only. With limited parking it was challenging to find a place to park. The train passes behind the hotel a number of times through the night, creating a little noise. The room does provide complimentary ear plugs, and this did not impact our sleep. We enjoyed the location as we were able to walk to the downtown area and grocery stores easily. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again!

My husband and I stayed here in early April. Basecamp is in a great location within walking distance of many different activities and venues. It is located close to the town centre, a variety of restaurants, many within walking distance, library, walking trails, and grocery stores; all of which we walked to and from daily. We had a great stay and would certainly be back. We had a very comfortable king size bed. Room was large and clean, and it was quiet. We had a mini fridge, and Coffee/tea maker in the room. Staff was very friendly and professional. The included breakfast bag containing apple, cheese, granola bar, fruit bar, and juice was a great plus. We were told there was supposed to be yogurt as well. Although the spoon was in the bag, we never did receive the yogurt. We did not mention this to the staff at the time however. The yogurt would definitely have been a very nice addition to the breakfast bag. Maybe next time. All in all, we had a great stay and experience at this property and would recommend it. The toiletries from Rocky Mnt Soap Co were a very nice touch. Greatly appreciated and I will be shopping at Rocky Mnt Soaps soon.
Thanks for a great stay!

With so many great places to choose from, it’s an honor that you decided to give us a try. I do apologize that your breakfast bag did not include any yogurt. Aside from that oversight it is so great to hear that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay and we can't wait to welcome you back again!

Room was clean, reasonably sized. Common/Lounge area was nice.
Good location. Bed and pillows were comfortable.

Our stay was booked via a travel agent and included a "free breakfast upgrade"...I would not call what was available a reasonable breakfast --toast, prepackaged muffins and apples. We discussed this with the front desk and were given a shrug and no helpful answer to the free breakfast upgrade issue.

For what we paid, $500 CAD/night (early/mid September), I do not think this was a great value.

The location is quite bad, near the railway and on the outskirt, but it was clear of the village. In fact they provide a lot of earplugs
the room has no microwave or cupboard.
I asked reception to have cleaned the room the following day and
he replied that I have to ask the day after because he doesn't transmit
any message. The day after I firmly asked to have the room cleaned and an additional blanket. The lady was not so ready to satisfy my requets.
She replied yes, but it was clear that will no intention to do. In the evening
in the evening, it was clear that they were kidding. The bed was redone
but the towels dirty lay on the floor, and the trash was not empty.
Of course no additional blanket. The day after I complained and
asked for compensation(as other hotels do, in such a case). The usual trick of front desk is the manager was not there they can t do and if I want ask her.
The usual trick is always among colleagues. They neither
accredit the deposit immediately. I hope that they will do.
The staff is not welcoming and ready to help.
Very bad experience.
They claim that it was announced by mail that will no day cleaning
for pandemia(?!?), but they did after we paid through booking, not refundable.
That is, this hotel belongs to a chain ... should be avoided all.

I am sorry to heat that you allegedly had such a bad experience. Stay over services are only done on the 3rd day of a stay and they would need to be requested. I reviewed your communication with our front desk and you were notified about this and there was a message relayed about being able to pick up items such as towels, toiletries or linen at any time should you happen to need these items. There is still a severe staff shortage in the hospitality industry and it is highly unlikely we will ever return to daily stay over services any time soon.

Had the best time at this lodge. Joseph at the front desk was really friendly and gave lots of good tips on places to see. Room was brilliant - king sized bed was very comfortable and shower was really good, a lot of pressure which was amazing for aching muscles after a long day hiking in Banff.

The only downside to the rooms is the face that there’s an active train track behind the hotel with CP trains passing throughout the night (may be an issue if you’re a light sleeper). Also the parking can be a bit tight to navigate but we had no issue finding parking during our stay.

There’s plenty of places to eat within walking distance of this hotel (definitely recommend the Rocky Mountain Bagel Company - out of this world bagels)

Would definitely stay again at this lodge!

This room was a complete bait and switch. We paid for a king suite, with a balcony, view and fireplace. Modern bathroom. We got a dark dingy, dated room with a view of the back parking lot where you couldn’t even open your windows and we were directly on the train line. The front desk had their hands tied as the room we were supposed to have was given to the people ahead of us - and they only had two of the rooms. It’s so disappointing but we would never stay here again. I’ve included photos of what we booked and what we got.. as well the bathroom fan didn’t even work and we had no view as cars were parked outside our window so we had to keep the blinds closed.

Stayed here for a two night getaway on August 9th and 10th. Online reservation was easy and they offered 15% off for staying two nights. They email you the room number and key code so you can just bypass the front desk and go straight to your room. The room was nice, we had the deluxe queen with a mountain view plus a fireplace. The room was clean and they seemed to follow the strict cleaning procedure that most hotels are following during covid. The bed was very comfortable and the room had a large flat screen TV, mini fridge and a Keurig coffee maker. In the morning you would get a basket with an apple, orange juice, piece of cheese, a yogurt, and an energy bar. The hotel is right next to the train tracks and you can expect 4-5 trains going by each day and also in the middle of the night. They do provide ear plugs in the room.

Some things that they need to state on their website:

1. The sauna was closed and unavailable.
2. The website says bicycles are available which was something we wanted to use but were told at the hotel that they were unavailable due to covid. What? What does covid have to do with riding a bicycle? They could easily wipe down the seat and handlebars after each guest.

Hotel management if you read this, please update your website and state that these amenities that you show available to guests are NOT available.

Thank you for the great review and for the feedback. We are sorry that at the time of your stay our bikes and sauna were not open or available. We are pleased to report that both are available now. Our sauna times must be booked in advance so that we can limit the number of guests to control social distancing and the bikes are out with cleaning materials at the ready for the guests prior to their ride. We do hope that these little glitches will not deter you from enjoying another stay with us in the future.

Stayed for two nights on a ski trip end of Feb. We booked a room with seating, fridge and fireplace. The mountain view was so lovely. The bed was super comfortable, tea coffee making, supplies. The room was extremely clean and attractive, bath and shower had great water pressure and toiletries were very nice quality.

Each morning breakfast was gratis , orange juice, apples, cheese, biscuits and yogurts left in fridge. Whilst upstairs facilities for self catering alongside good quality muffins and hot beverages. From the sitting room the mountain views are outstanding, in fact the mountains were 360 around the lodge. All areas were well presented and attractive , reception and the sitting room was a very comfortable extra space with sofas, fireplace , large screen TV, dining tables with kitchen off.

There is some noise early in the morning and middle of the night from the proximity to the train, but I liked the sound and didn’t need ear plugs (which are supplied). There are noise policies in place asking guests to respect the need for sleep.
All in all I thought the lodge was a very nice place for people of all ages to enjoy.

Across the road is a traditional looking pub , The Georgian and a couple of nice restaurants with all price options.

We stayed here for 2 nights in october. The room was spacious and clean. We recommend the room.
However, we don’t not recommend breakfast. It was a basket filled with plastic wrapped food items to be eaten in the room. There are plenty of breakfast places around, but it might be quite busy there. We went to the Rocky Mountain bagel factory and the bro’in yolk.
