Overall our stay in three rooms (3-bedroom penthouse, two 1-King bedroom rooms) was amazing. Any time we required something (towels, garbage bags, robes, dish towels, ice, etc.) the staff were very quick to respond and always friendly. The 3-bedroom penthouse is very spacious. The closet in the master bedroom is large enough to hold a blowup mattress if you needed to fit a few more people in as is the master bedroom. The two bathrooms are spacious however the showers are difficult to figure out. The hotel needs more signage in the hallways for the lobby/pool. There needs to be signage in the rooms for where the ice is located. Dining room chairs were stained therefore they either need a deep cleaning/replacing. We found cobwebs on the light fixture above the dining room table as well as liquid spill on the wall from the upstairs opening which looks down into the living room. There was also tape left on the beam between the kitchen and living room from a previous guest that was missed being removed by guests/housekeeping. The coffee table appears to be broken (top was quite loose from the bottom). There were no housekeeping services provided during our two night stay in any of our rooms. The water temperature in the pools and hot tub was perfect. More seating would be great in the pool area. We would definitely consider going back.

It is still overwhelming! Sitting in that livingroom with a view onto the gas chimney, outside a grill at the balcony, a high end modern and perfectly stuffed kitchen, two TVs, a sleeping room with a kingsize bed, washing machine, dryer, dishwasher and and and! Clean, perfect, outstanding! No idea what could top this suite!!!

We stayed here as a stopover on our Okanagan trip, on the way to the Okanagan for one night and then one night on the way back from the Okanagan. Nice large room but there was only one light in the whole main room area. Just a table lamp on the night table between the two beds. No lamp at the desk made it difficult to do some work during this trip. The washroom was nice and spacious and boasted a spa style marble double shower. However, for such a large room and with two beds accommodating at least four people, there was very little counter space and only one hook in the washroom. The only hook was opposite the shower and beside the toilet. It held two hangers each with a bathrobe on it on our last day but no robes for our first stay. I guess it is standard to for hotels to only give one luggage stand per room regardless of the number of guests. We are getting in the practice of pulling out the ironing board to use as a additional luggage stand. Sorry if our luggage wheels are dirty and rub onto the ironing board but we have to be creative. Mini fridge was not that useful. The shelves inside the door took out space from the internal part of the fridge. Looked like a shelf or two was missing from the door inside so we couldn’t put anything there. Unclean and not great attention to detail… Our kids found gummy bears and popcorn just under the edge of the platform beds. These are not hard to spot if the bedsheets were being changed by housekeeping staff. Some of the bedsheets had brown stains on them. Carpet had stains on various parts and bits of debris, including dust bunnies. Our kids were a little freaked out when they noticed a small stuffed plush ladybug wedged between the entertainment/desk center. Kids also pointed out to us that the top of the galvanized steel ice bucket lid had some sort of white crusty material on it. All of these dirty things were not hard to spot. Most were quite noticeable to the naked eye, even at a glance. Sometimes I leave a tip in the room for the housekeeping staff when we leave. I did not do so this time. Our room was in the annex building. Parking stalls were so tight that only small cars could fit in them, not family vehicles. We parked on the street on the first stay. On the second stay we discovered that we could park right in front of the drive-in bay at the front of the annex building. There are no luggage carts available at the Annex building to bring in your luggage. Luckily our kids are teenagers now and helped haul in the luggage. If you parked in the tight parking lot, then you would find it even difficult to wheel your luggage up to the door because there is no ramp, just stairs. I am thankful there is an elevator in this building at least. I am assuming that the swimming pool was in the main building so we would’ve had to get into our swim gear and walk across to the main building if we wanted to use it. OK in the summer but not great in the winter. I felt like we were second class guests during this stay in Canmore at the Grande Rockies Resort. Due to something out of our control that happened to our tow vehicle, a safety recall, we could not use it to tow our camping trailer for the camping trips get booked for the summer so we decided to have a road trip to the Okanagan for the first time. Canmore was a stopover at the beginning and at the end of the trip. I guess beggars can’t be choosers as not much was available when we tried to book at the end of June but after staying in so many nice places in Canmore in the past, I would’ve at least expected a clean room. Giving this a 3 star rating because of the nice bathroom and location.

Our stay here was a bit disappointing, especially after such a positive experience staying in one of Bellstar's sister locations in Canmore. I had planned a trip through the rocky mountains for Canada Day long weekend and had to bring my puppy with me as he is being trained to be my service dog and I found this hotel online. The photos of the hotel looked very nice and despite the prices for hotels being a bit higher due to Canada Day, the photos seemed to reflect the price accurately, but I was wrong. When I arrived, the concierge I checked in with was friendly and told me my room was ready, but then it went downhill from there. I was told that they forgot the bottle of red wine I had paid for when booking the room and it was instead handed to me at the lobby counter - disappointing. Good thing I wasn't staying here for an anniversary or that would have been embarrassing. I was then asked if I was parking underground but I had a trailer with me (for towing my motorcycle) and was told I would most likely have to park it at the Circle K gas station, the restaurant across from the hotel, or parallel on the street (to which there are wasn't room at any). There was room to park right beside the Annex building (which was the building my room was in) but I was told it couldn't be parked there so I didn't. I had to go a couple of streets over to find parking. I was very frustrated after walking back from my parking spot to find a truck parked in the spot I was told that I couldn't park in (and it had stayed in that spot for the duration of our stay and was not ticketed or towed). The annex building severely needs upgrading. The doors in the lobby are out of alignment and look unsightly. The public areas of the Annex building are very poorly lit and have minimal furniture. The furniture they door have is not very inviting. When we got to our room it was disappointing. It did not have a clean odor, the robe in the bathroom had holes all throughout it, there was what appeared to be a dirty towel draped over the shower. The toilet barely flushed and the sink would clog up if the water ran for more than a few seconds. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling, it was very poorly lit, and the bathroom wasn't very clean. The rainfall showerhead was nice but the water pressure in the shower wasn't great. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and left us waking up stiff and sore and at night the one single lamp provided between the two double beds didn't provide much light for the room. The cheap furniture had small chips all over the finish. Even though dogs are not supposed to be left unattended in the hotel. There was a dog in a room across from us that continuously barked. For what we paid and the experience we had in other hotels owned by Bellstar, we expected a lot better. This hotel unfortunately did not meet our expectations and we would not recommend it to others. When we stay in Canmore in the future, we will look elsewhere.

We recently stayed at The Grande Rockies Resort in Canmore in June for 5 nights in a two bedroom suite. We booked directly with the hotel (this piece of information is important as there appear to be multiple management companies and AirBnbs within one resort!) My biggest regret is not reading the Google reviews before we booked! The website makes this place look fabulous, let me tell you it's the power of photo edits and marketing! We have a Toyota Sienna with a roof top carrier so I checked in advance if we would fit in the underground parking and we didn't but I wasn't to worried because the website lists a free surface parking lot for oversized vehicles. They don't actually have a surface parking lot!! Every single stall is reserved for their restraunt! We have two children under two and had to park extremely far away on the street! They do not have any staff to assist with luggage and their luggage carts all had flat tires. When we got into our two bedroom suite there was only one face cloth and not all the towels had been restocked. We asked for face clothes and were told there were none available at that time but when they were available they would be sent up, we were there 5 days and never received face clothes. There was only one robe in the entire suite (being a two bedroom I would expect 4 robes) the one Robe belonged to one of the other managment companies. I wore it over my bathing suite on our way to the pool on our second night to ask for more towels. Due to the logo on the front (paradise resorts) the front desk girl was rude and told me to call them. I explained that we were hotel guests and this was the only robe in the room. The girl put together a pile of our requested items and when I returned from the pool to collect them myself she pointed to a housekeeping cart and couldn't even get out of her seat and off her phone to pass me the items. The kitchen in our suite was extremely ill-equipped. There were no oven mitts (we discovered this when trying to remove our dinner from the hit oven) the knives were dull. There were mis matched dishes and items left from previous guests! The appliances are on their last legs! One of the reasons we booked this hotel was for in suite laundry (2 children under 2 make laundry essential) the washer is broken so even though I selected cold water wash it absolutely boiled my clothing! We have damaged or shrunk hundreds of dollars of clothing! The room was dusty, the furniture is worn out. The king size bed in our room was so collapsed on one side my husband couldn't sleep in it! The drapes had food stains! There was a huge nail sticking up from the door transition. Despite signage to use the in room safe to secure valuables, there was no safe in our room! The showers were disgusting, full of scum! They have these horrible tacky steam shower inserts and over half the functions didn't work! The tub wouldn't even hold water to bath my kids we had to constantly top it up! The front desk staff didn't go over the included amenities (such as a free national park pass) and couldn't even be bothered to provide the wifi password. The staff didn't seem to give a crap about guest experience. It's evident there is very little training invested into their staff! I contacted the management about my concerns prior to posting these reviews publicly in order to give the hotel a chance to rectify the experience. Unfortunately the attitude of not caring starts at the top with this place and the GM hasn't been bothered to get back to me other then to send me an email acknowledging he received my email 5 business days ago. Stay anywhere else, I don't know how this is considered a 4 star resort! Seriously run far far away from this place! There are so many other issues we experienced that I don't even have the time to write about.

1, First impressions are impressions are important: - couldn’t access the building (annex) - room key (card) didn’t work - no staff to help so had a family member help us 2. Anticipating a great evening of a hockey game but we could put get the tv to work. - we were unsuccessful at getting it on so asked a front desk person to help. Were told that the electricians had left earlier. Luckily the front desk employee replaced a missing cable and the tv worked. However all this delay caused us to miss a good potion of the game. 3. The room wasn’t very clean and we noticed a lot of ants on the floor and other surfaces. 4. It appears that this hotel is very lacking in staff to deal with the above issues. Until that happens we won’t be staying there again or recommending it to others.

Starting from the beginning, check-in in 5pm, seriously guys 5pm. And check out 10 am. Wtf. Anyway our sheets were dirty, called the front desk, hotel fully booked can't change rooms and even he offered new sheets but no one available to change it, I had to go myself and pick it up and change it myself. Even so there were scheduled to fix plumbing all day without water, we couldn't even go to washroom. 185$ a night for the worst experience i ever had what a joke.

Suites with a kitchen are a great idea for family, but check in and check out times are not family friendly nor is the pull out bed very comfortable for kids. There is an extra resort fee, but the only amenity is the pool (no change rooms which makes it difficult if using the pool early or after check out).

We arrived (ROOM 239 Grand Rockies Resort) on April 5/22 excited for the one month stay we had booked through Air B and B. The floors in the condo were so filthy, so we decided to sweep them up ourselves. There was white stuff spilled all over the floor and cupboards which I assumed was milk so obviously the floor was not scrubbed either. The lights over the stove had cobwebs and filth hanging from them so I would assume they were not cleaned in a long time. May I add this was just gross and disgusting. She (Tina from S and T Properties of Canmore, AB who apparently manages this property) sent someone in to scrub it which I believe did not happen as when we came back after they apparently scrubbed everything, we washed off one tile with paper towel and it was just filthy yet. We later found out it was their “handyman” that so called mopped it up again as he told us that. So I guess the handyman(who screws window shut in your place) is also the cleaner. After we cleaned up the condo on our own time we sat down and turned on the TV which did not work as they have some ROKU TV hooked up and you need a password. We waited for an hour and the repair guy came and set it up. When we went to bed, we tried to use the remote for the tv in the bedroom and guess what? It did not work. Fourteen days later it (the tv in our bedroom) still does not work and when I asked Tina about this problem she would not even reply. Did I mention that there are yellow stains on the bedcover, two brown dirt stains on one of our bedsheets? I don’t even want to guess what that is about? The kitchen table was also not wiped off and caked with a bunch of sticky stuff on it as well. Whoever painted the place left masking tape on the walls as well. The refrigerator froze all our vegetables even on the normal setting. There is no room to hang clothes in the closet in any of the the bedroom as advertised as they have a dresser and some other cabinet that is locked so we had to leave half our clothes for our month stay in our suitcases. Other amenities that were listed like the dedicated workspace they advertised they do not have that either. There are no wine glasses and the electric tea kettle was broke and after 14 days of complaining they finally sent me a new one. Another issue is that the bottom drawer on the stove does not close and as one can plainly see the tile on the floor is all scratched up from it so this must have been going on for a long time. It was stuck half open for 14 days. They sent a repair guy for that, but it is wrecked so it was just left and on the 14th day they sent another repairman to jimmy rig it to sort of work. The front burner on the stove does not work as well as the control for it is broken. The did send up a repair guy and fixed that but this was 14 days later. Being this is a condo we like to store stuff on top of the cupboard, but we decided not to do that as we don’t think it was cleaned up there for ages it was disgustingly filthy like the rest of the place. The top of the fridge also has not been dusted or cleaned. I would think at a minimum this type of cleaning would be done. We went to wash a load of clothes and I asked two days ago to get a repairman up here as I cannot get the door open on the wash machine. We left to get groceries and came back it was still not fixed. Her response to me was just go to the laundromat downtown and I will pay you for it. I asked her 20 days later to pay us for the 9 loads of clothes we washed but she said I must produce a receipt I went to the Laundromat two times to look for anyone around there to get a receipt and there was not anyone, so I am just out the money for the clothes we had to go wash even though they advertised the place comes with a washing machine. I did not rent a place so that I must go to a laundromat as it was supposed to be included with the place. They finally sent a repairman up and it took him about 30 minutes to get the door open but when we washed our next load it would not open again. Finally on the 11th day S and T Properties of Canmore, AB sent another repair guy up and he told me just to turn the breaker on and off to open it. I did try that after he left, and it still did not work. Did I also mention after the 11th day Tina would no longer take any phone calls from me, so I finally complained to Air B and B about the horrible treatment I got. She even went as far to say that I may be damaging her place. I have rented in Canmore for years and I have never ever disrespected anyone’s property and for her to accuse me of that is very unprofessional and slandering to say the least. At no fault of the owners of this place the garbage bins are right outside your bedroom windows so when they pick up the garbage in the morning at 630 AM with a truck it is right outside your bedroom window. Late at night the restaurant must also throw their garbage in so I would suggest you keep your windows closed unless you want to hear the noise of them doing that. The garbage bins are usually overflowing and there are numerous ravens and magpies picking everything apart that it makes it look like a garbage dump. So much for not feeding the wildlife….I guess?? I emailed and text a manager with pictures of the garbage mess and nothing at all happened so I guess again one should assume they are OK to feed the wildlife and have this disgusting mess there. We also did not have any screens on our patio deck door and some Ravens from all the garbage underneath us just about got into the condo so you cannot leave the patio door open. I requested a screen for the patio and the spare bedroom. They brought a screen for the spare bedroom and screwed it on which in turn screwed the window shut. I told her about this on a Friday and she would not answer us to get it fixed so I could not have my family out from Calgary for the weekend. Would you put your family in a room that has the windows screwed shut? I do not know anything about fire regulations, but I do not think that you are allowed to screw windows shut. The bathroom door was so filthy with dust as it was not wiped down. They must have had a 5-year-old doing the paint job as there is paint over the curtains and baseboards. They also have masking tape left on the baseboards from the painters. The painting job is a mess to say the least. Finally, Monday morning we got ahold of a repairman from the hotel who told us he does not do repairs here that it is up to the property manager (as there were other issues going on here). He did come up on his own to do this for us as Tina from S and T properties would not even address the screwed shut window from three days ago. Then the day before we leave, they send us a handyman to unscrew our window in the spare bedroom. We politely asked him to leave as I no longer want a handyman that screws our window shut and might I add again this was three days to late and we missed having our family as the spare room was not useable with the window screwed shut. The walls are all scratched and banged up. The cupboards are old and almost falling apart as the doors don’t open or close properly. May I add we had to clean them out before we put any supplies in as they were filthy with crumbs and who knows what else. With covid still rampant we bought disinfectant wipes to wipe everything down as we could only assume this was not even done going by how filthy this place was. We went to the pool and hot tub twice, but we ended up with such burnt skin from it that we decided not to go back in there either. I have rented in Canmore for over 13 years for a month at a time or more and this by far is the worst place I have ever seen. If you want my honest opinion, you would be much better to buy a nice tent and stay in that as this place was disgustingly filthy and run down. It was a waste of our valuable holiday time and money spent. I have never been so disappointed in my life for a holiday and the way we were treated as well. From other reviews I am not the only person that feels this way.
