Great two night visit at the end of a business trip! Stephanie looked after my booking from enquiry, checked me in, lots of helpful advice to make sure I got to make the most of my short stay and see everything I could, through to printing my tickets and seeing me off. These days it's hard to find staff as friendly and dedicated to excellent customer service as this young lady! Bathrooms, bedrooms, kitchen, linens, lounge - spotlessly clean! I've stayed in 4* hotels that weren't as clean as this place. Well done to you all and thank you!

I had a trail run race at the Canmore Nordic centre and needed a place to stay. All of the hotels in Canmore are expensive. I thought I’d give the hostel a shot, and boy was I impressed. Canmore downtown hostel is modern, clean; and a friendly atmosphere. The lower bunk in the dorm room I stayed was cozy and felt private once the curtain was drawn. Facilities were great and the kitchen was huge and fully stocked. Not only would I recommend; I’ll be coming back with my family next time. This is the only place I’d stay in Canmore if you’re on a budget. Highly recommend!

Hi I stayed here for two nights in June 2022, and I didn’t want to leave! This was by far the cleanest hostel I have ever been to. They had fun community nights, a great locations, huge clean kitchen. They also give you free parking! The staff was friendly and had a variation of ages of people. I loved this hostel and would recommend it to anyone. If you’re not too experienced with hostels and a bit nervous this would be a great one to start off with. It exceeded my expectations.

Great hostel. Everything is really well thought-out: lots of kitchen supplies and fridge space, clean bathrooms, comfortable beds, convenient lockers, a shelf and ledge in each bed, etc. The common space is great for relaxing and chatting, with beautiful views of the rockies.

I had an extended stay for several months while exploring Canmore & Banff. Have stayed in a number of hostels all over Canada, but this one stands out as pretty much the best! Great location for exploring the area - and within short walking distance to everything in Canmore. Hostel itself also has parking and several stores on the doorstep. Great hostel room layout - comfy beds and private enclosed bunks. Very spacious rooms compared to many hostels - this place benefits from being relatively new and having a great, modern layout. The common room is awesome. Perfect for remote working, socializing and relaxing. I was traveling alone, and met loads of friends staying here! Everyone was so friendly. Staff were amazing - many thanks to Marie, Rebecca and the team. It's obvious they've put a lot of time and effort into the hostel to make it an amazing place to stay! Thanks again, would absolutely stay again. Best hostel in the area by far!

If you are looking for good accommodations at good prices, near to the city, close to restaurants and groceries that’s the best place for you! All staff are polite, rooms and bathrooms are clean, guests can feel at home. It’s a great place to meet people from all over the world and make connections.

On a solo camping trip to see an auto rally in nearby Kananaskis, I happened upon the Downtown Hostel while looking for a gas station. Decided to check it out and find out what the rates were, and let me just say I'm SO happy I stayed in Canmore. Clean place, comfortable beds, great facilities, and very friendly staff. Big shared kitchen with everything you need, and walking distance to some really good restaurants too (even sharing the parking lot with some of them). If you're a rail enthusiast, you'll be happy to know the CP Laggan Subdivision mainline is right across the street too, and there's easy driving to lots of nearby railfanning locations. All in all, fantastic stay. Great home base for nearby adventures.

staff very friendly, clean, this was my first time in a hostel so wasn't sure of how things worked but from what i gathered this is one of the better hostels to stay in. The curtain around your bed is great, plug ins for your electronics are right by your bed, great views of the mountains. One thing to keep in mind other people go to bed and wake up at different times. I would stay at this hostel again

Staff are super friendly and helpful. Everywhere is kept really clean. Beds are comfy and the location is very good. Has a calmer vibe than some other hostels in are, which we really like, and has great places to work. WIFI is not good, but you can connect to the local shops which is much better.
