My mom and I had such a great experience staying here! We were in a regular room during our first night which was alright. Run down room but the bed was so comfortable! We had an issue with our toilet and they showed up at my door within 3 minutes of my call, and they fixed the problem in less than 10 minutes. If you’re staying in the regular room (not studio apartment), the TV has Netflix, which was nice. The rest of our stay, we stayed in the studio apartment which was such a great experience. It’s super cute with a mini kitchen (stove oven with utensils too, coffee maker, microwave and fridge). Unfortunately there’s only one bed in the room, but you can easily fit an inflatable air mattress if needed. They restock (bathroom supplies) and clean the rooms every morning. The office was always helpful with answering questions or giving extra supplies (like tissue box or coffee). It was quite pricy overall but that’s how it is pretty much everywhere in beautiful Banff and area especially during high season (June/July). Overall, I recommend!

First off, the location of this hotel is very ideal. We walked to downtown Canmore a few times. It is very convenient for getting around, and getting out of town if you want to head to Banff or back towards Calgary.

We stayed in the one bedroom studio suite. What we discovered when we got there was that we think the hotel acquired this separate building recently. It is not part of the original complex. It almost seemed as though we were able to book it due to overflow at the hotel (maybe because it was a long weekend) because we were the only ones staying there.

The suite was very cute. Small, but exactly what you would expect from a one bedroom. It had it's own private entrance to the outside and was extremely private. It had a full kitchen which was wonderful as we had brought all our own food and were able to make many of our own meals. We had our two dogs with us, so the private entrance made it convenient for taking them outside. When we booked online, it stated that all rooms have air conditioning......I can assure you this room did NOT and there was 30+ heat that weekend. Thank goodness they at least provided us with a fan.

We found a few items in the room that were left behind by other guests which we found a bit disgusting, although they were in places that a person wouldn't normally look, so apparently the cleaners hadn't either (this is what happens when you have dogs, going after dog toys).

Also, at check in we were to be provided a dog bed and toys for EACH dog. They were aware we had two, but were only provided with one. And the bed was not a bed at all.....incredibly thin and I am sure uncomfortable.

Just make sure to triple confirm with them what you are getting so there are no surprises.

We stayed at the Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge from August 25-28, 2024, and had a really disappointing experience with the front desk. On our first night, I asked for an extra pillow for our kids around 11:15 PM, but James at the front desk said there were none left. When I asked for a blanket as a substitute, he impatiently pointed out that we should already have extra pillows in our room, which we had already used. After some reluctance, he finally gave us one more pillow.

I also asked for more hangers since our room only had four, but James firmly told us there were no more available. Overall, this was the worst service we’ve encountered at any hotel. We expected much better, especially considering the lodge’s reputation.

A COMPLETE RIP-OFF! No price list on display when we arrived. Extortionate charges for a one bed queen / no breakfast. As pensioners we were even promised a discount, but I’ve checked my bank statement, and the full price was charged so that was a lie. $420 cad / £229. We could have stayed in a posh London hotel for less, indeed I told the receptionist this. She told us it was high season, and the price dropped when the snow fell , which must be rubbish as it’s a ski lodge and winter will be when they make their money. It feels like they just charge what they like to tourists. Surely a reputable business should have its price list on display. I am even more upset that I could have got the same via the UK if I had pre booked for £75. I will advise my family and friends in the UK and Canada to NEVER use “Rocky Mountain Ski Lodge” . Even the car park was a waterlogged dirt track and as disabled we had to lug suitcases upstairs after they got dirty thru the mud bath car park. So, so ripped off and angry.

I am sorry that you found our rates high in our high summer season. We are competitive with all other properties in the area though. Hotel rates across the board in the Bow Valley are lower during the fall and winter seasons. As rates are fluid and may change more than once daily pricing is not displayed in the lobby. The front desk can provide this to you or the information can be found online. Our hotel does not have an elevator to reach the second story rooms and we do not advertise one.

I was woken up at 6 am by some slight noise in the motel room. It turned out a mouse got trapped in the garbage bag/bin in the bathroom. Called the front desk to find out that they couldn't remove the mouse until 7 am. However the housekeeper collected the mouse around 8:30 am.

We rented a little studio and it was not clean. We had brought our own products to disinfect during COVID-19 and thank goodness we did. The walls were dirty, the floors were dirty, the stove, refrigerator and microwave were dirty. We had to clean the whole place when we got in. There is no dishwasher so you know that the dishes were not sanitized either. It just felt like they didn't much care about COVID-19 protocol.
It was noisy, no balcony or outdoor space to sit so we felt like we were in a bunker. Spend the extra $100 and go somewhere else.

Dear insearchofgoodfood19, Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your valuable feedback. Please accept my apologies for any inconveniences caused during your stay. I understand that you found our facilities not up to the standards. I can imagine your frustrations and I hope you informed the front desk about the same. Classic shabby Motel just outside downtown Canmore with room doors overlooking the parking lot. Bad value for money. Spacious but very basic room, equipped with microwave, coffee machine, smart TV. Blind bathroom very small and with traces of mold on the ceiling. Temperature not adjustable and very very high, with heating along the poorly maintained and ruined clog. Presence of ample free parking and possibility to reach the center of Canmore on foot. Friendly staff and who try hard to make it look like a nice place. Breakfast not available.

Everything about this places says it is not well maintained. Our room had old carpet that should have been replaced years ago, bathroom that needs updated fixtures...

Front desk staff were friendly but this is a typical business where ownership doesn't have a plan to reinvest in the property. We ended up paying $210 U.S. for one night in September 2022. Would we stay again, No!
