Thank you njespersen for taking the time to review your recent stay with us. We immediately inspected your room once you left and we found no evidence of bed bugs in the room. We did however find a few small bugs that we believe flew into the room while the door was open, but we have concluded that there were no bed bugs. We apologize for the inconvenience and we agreed to let you cancel free of charge. If you would like to discuss your stay further, please do not hesitate to contact us directly at the front desk.

Below average hotel with dated rooms. Good location. Has more of the feel of a motel. Only stayed one night and I was thankful for that. Check in went quick and easy though so bonus points for that. Most importantly though, the room was clean and the bed was pretty comfortable.

Noise near major roads and train tracks. Smelly, the air-conditioner drips water to the Ceiling all night downstairs. I advise not to book any apartments downstairs or near stairs. It was an unpleasant stay. (Room 166). Beds are not comfortable.

Happened upon this clean, relatively inexpensive hotel. This is a clean well kept hotel. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Rooms have microwaves and a fridge. Parking at the room door. I would recommend this hotel to my family and friends.

Affordable, super dog friendly! We got the room with the kitchen and fireplace couch combo. Views exactly what you want in Canmore.
Had our own little yard to let the dog pee.

*could definitely stock coffee filters that’s my one knock.

Family of 5 plus my mom and a dog.
The place can use some reno but if staying for a short time this will do.
We booked room with a loft.
2 queen beds upstairs and a half bath.
Then another room on the main area with queen bed. Living area has futon bed - but for some reason we weren’t able to open it fully.
Main area has another a full bathroom.
Fully equipped kitchen.
Balcony.

Fabulous front desk staff. Easy check in. Grounds look unkempt. Room clean but mediocre. Nice bed, thin/cheap towels. Front curtain could not keep out the obnoxious porch light. Tv controls would not work. Seemed overpriced - would not stay here again.

We love this hotel . We have stayed a couple of times so far and although yes it’s old , it’s perfect for what it is. So comfy and spacious . The staff are also wonderful . We will always stay here . It’s a Canmore gem ! We love the condo style room . Don’t listen to the negative reviews .

I like to do a lot of snowboarding in the Banff area (Sunshine Village, Lake Louise, etc) and have stayed in quite a few places in Banff and Harvie Heights. I first stayed at this lodge on a ski package that is usually offered by the majority of hotels in the area.
The first thing that I noticed upon check-in was the shears. Coming from a German family it felt "like home" when I walked into the central check-in. The staff there are extremely accomodating, polite, and more than happy to discuss the best restaurants, bars and sights to check out. They always have the mountain conditions posted as soon as they are available and even recommended to me the best times to head out to the slopes. Wireless internet is included for free; just ask for the wireless codes and they will hand you a note with the relevant info as well as instructions if needed.
The rooms themselves are quite simple and have a "rustic" appeal to them. I have stayed at this lodge when we hit -36 celcius a few months back (even Sunshine was closed until it warmed up a few degrees) and the room we were in was nice and warm with no draft from the door or windows. The beds are very comfortable (most beds at these hotels leave you thinking your car seat would have been more comfortable) and you simply don't want to get up in the morning because you are so relaxed (we normally sleep on a memory foam mattress at home). Television reception is perfect with a good cable selection. The rooms are very CLEAN. No dirty dishes, no wierd odours, no hidden surprises.
Now, here is the most amazing part...your view. Every suite that I have stayed in has a panoramic view of the rockies that will blow you away. When you stop and consider that people drop over half a million dollars to buy a CONDO to have this view which you can have for less than a hundred Canadian a night, you almost feel guilty. If you get a second floor suite and stand on the walkway you feel dwarfed by your surroundings. Stand in the courtyard and no matter which way you turn there are massive TITANS looking down on you. If it's the scenery you are after, I consider it superior to even Banff. If you check in online, you can even have the option of CHOOSING which mountains you would like to face (ie the Three Sisters).
You are across the street from a strip of restaurants and watering holes so you can leave your car at home and stagger back if need be. Canmore is a lot quieter than Banff but it's friendlier, non-tourist driven, VERY cheap (food, liquor, fuel), and close enough to the action (15 minute drive from Banff) that you can still hit some of the clubs there.
I have stayed at this hotel four times already and I adamantly contend that I will NEVER stay at another hotel than this one while in this neck of the woods.

We enjoyed our stay. Everything was convenient and clean. The staff was friendly and helpful. When I mentioned that I thought I'd seen a lower rate on the web site after we'd reserved, they graciously offered me an even lower AAA rate.
