This inn is a wonderful place to stay in Canmore.
First, the location is great. On arrival, it was very easy to find. It’s close to the shopping area and many restaurants are within walking distance. Our favourite was Savoury which is just down the block. We stayed three nights and walked to dinner each night. It’s also within walking distance to the Policeman’s Walking Trail.
The atmosphere is lovely. Veronika and her team did a great job checking us in, cleaning the rooms and preparing amazing breakfasts. There were four of us and three of us had dietary requests that were met with: No problem and a smile. Each day we were asked to select our breakfast time slot for the next day. We all agreed that the French toast stuffed with berries and accompanied with maple syrup was our favourite but the other breakfasts were lovely, too. Each morning there was a very nice small starter. A variety of fresh fruit accompanied each breakfast. You could help yourself to coffee, tea, and ice water.
Our room was called The Three Sisters and it was roomy and very nicely decorated with antiques and calm colour choices. I believe it was the only room with a king sized bed and it was on the second floor. If stairs are an issue for you, it might be best to select a room on the ground floor as there is no elevator. Our daughter and husband selected the Cascade room with a view of the mountains. When booking the rooms, I called the hotel directly and they offered a discount.
You are asked to remove your shoes when you enter the building. Plastic slip on shoes are provided or you may bring your own indoor footwear. This keeps the inn very clean and with many people wearing hiking boots, it’s a very good idea. It was a very easy rule to follow and you may leave your outdoor footwear on a shelf at the entrance or carry them to your room.
There is an ice machine available and a small refrigerator if you’d like to store any drinks, etc. This was helpful as there are no refrigerators in the rooms. There’s also a nice lounge to sit in and outdoor seating areas if you’d like to be outside. Although the inn is located in a busy area, we encountered no noise problems or trouble sleeping.
We would definitely book at this inn if we returned to Cranbrook.
Again, a special shout out to Veronika and staff. They were very special.

We are so grateful for detailed reviews such as this. Your time and effort to explain the detail, and understand the hard work that our incredible staff put towards each and every guest is what makes this B&B special. Come and stay with us again! Many more rooms to try as they are all unique. All the best until then.

Decent hotel comfortable and clean, we had a room at the front, lots of road noise and deliveries during the night to local shops, air-con in room but very noisy, breakfast was just ok, it was what they had made there was little choice, we did ask for some grilled tomatoes or something different, for my wife as she is not keen on eggs Benedict, she was given some uncooked tomatoes on a plate, another morning it was a pancake with dark berries compot Chocolate sauce and bacon, not our taste bet were never told what was coming. The place is not run with Canadian staff so there was not the usual helpful cheerful atmosphere.
The hotel was not bad but I wouldn’t book it again, our experiences later in the holiday were totally different and all but one faultless

My partner and I were feeling cooped up and wanted to escape to Canmore for the weekend. This stay was everything we wanted! Our room was pristine and had all the amenities (cable TV, high quality bedding, hairdryer, tower fan, natural lighting and windows that open, desk, fireplace, etc.). After a great sleep, we had an amazing breakfast - healthy and filling. The staff are friendly and helpful. Coffee and lovely looseleaf tea available at any hour...Seriously a great deal for what you get. This place is full of perks and felt like a safe and easy place to truly relax.

We also easily booked two back-to-back massages with Candice for the night we arrived and it was a major highlight. Best massage I've had in years. She's amazing...and covered by benefits. Highly recommend!

I am shocked this place gets such good reviews.

First: the website pics are NOT accurate. And there is a reason there are no bathroom pics. Paint was peeling on the walls of our room. The soap holder in the Super 8 style bath tub was cracked. The entire bathroom looked like it was picked up from a $60/night roadside motel and dropped in a large home that has been piecemeal put together without a thought to what might look good.

Second: they dont want you wearing shoes inside. Fine. They provide rubber slides. But there was hardly ever clean ones available. So you are walking around public areas in socks. It was gross.

Third: train. All the time.

Fourth: breakfast. They try, but not everyone eats eggs. Thats pretty much your only option.

I was beyond disappointed with this place. Its not worth the hype it gets and for the money there are much better places to stay.

Unless staying at a place well past its prime is your thing.

It is unfortuante that our B&B was not a fit for you. We have not received a 2/5 review since ownership in over 5 years, but hopefully you will find accommdations that are a better fit. All the best.

Completely exceeded all of our expectations. The "Carriage House" room was cozy and comfortable (with the most comfortable mattress outside our own home). The staff was warm, welcoming, and accommodating, and the included breakfast was among the best we've ever had. 10/10 recommend for a romantic and comfortable stay in the mountains

I haven’t slept here yet. I checked in a few hours ago and was so impressed with it’s character. First, entering the doors you have to remove your shoes in a large entry mudroom. A first for me. Once I side the decorations are warm and inviting. Be aware, rooms are on second floor and there is no elevator but the helpful young lady at the desk was more than willing to help with luggage. Later she made us fresh coffee and tea to sip while we rested in the lobby sitting area. I looked a the three sisters room and we are staying in the “Lady’s Perch” and they are both nicer and bigger than the rooms we had at the “Chateau “ and Banff Springs. Views are nice but it would be hard to compete with those at the Chateau. Unless some catastrophe happenes overnight a five rating out of 5 just isn’t enough. I haven’t even tried the included breakfast yet.

This Boutique Inn is charming, quiet and centrally located. Very welcoming staff that prepares a wonderful fresh gourmet breakfast each morning. Rooms were spacious, not cluttered with too much decor. I would suggest each room should have a mini fridge so guests can keep drinks in the room. Very clean Inn. Definitely a 5 star.

Great little antique style Inn not far from central Canmore. Room was clean and inviting with a good mattress and beautiful bedding and furniture. Preset breakfast. first morning rhubarb apple crisp to start, ham cheese and veggie omelet with english muffin, coffee, tea, juice etc. Second morning bagel topped with arugula, avocado, ham, egg and hollandaise. Will make something else if not to your liking. Would go back anytime.

We had an amazing stay at Lady Macdonald Country Inn and wanted to make a special point of calling out Veronika who went above and beyond to try and exceed our expectations. Our host accommodated all our requests immediately and with a smile. She also recommended her favorite Canmore sights to explore.

We booked a Vermillion Room for 2 night's stay at the Inn, and we loved everything about our stay.
Rooms were very clean, beds comfortable and breakfast delicious each morning.
It was a memorable experience, and we will be back !
