I had picked this hotel due to the reviews and It’s charm. My wife and I typically love older boutique, hotels. And I have to say this hotel did not disappoint. The staff here was outstanding and bent over backwards to accommodate all of our needs and wishes we stayed on the second floor, even with the train tracks almost across the street. It was very quiet it was the only room on our day to Banff and Jasper that had air conditioning which was a plus is quite cozy. We had tea and coffee in the room and you determine whether or not you wanted them to clean every day or bring towels, coffee, etc. etc. just block from downtown and is only about 15 minute drive to Banff. The food in the hotel was quite excellent and I will do that in a separate review.

We have stayed here previously thus chose this hotel again. Period atmosphere and the rooms are large with a separate seating area with comfortable chairs and fireplace. The bed was king size and very comfortable. The shower was unremarkable but had space for toiletries and had lots of hot water. The air conditioner was on the wall and was effective but noisy. We shut it off and opened the windows at night. We asked for a room facing away from the road and train but were awoken each night (3 nights) by garbage collection and linen delivery service before 6 am. The hotel is in an excellent location. Cross the road and you are on the footpath into Canmore, about five minutes. There is no housekeeping service while you stay but you can request the service or items like fresh towels from the front desk. We were happy NOT to have this daily service. We had a drink at the bar one night. Very busy! We also had their famous fish and chip lunch and it was excellent. This hotel is historic, only two levels, lots of memorabilia and photos. Great staff in the restaurant and front desk. Highly recommend but stay away from room 207 and make sure you know what is happening on your side of the building. Likely the highway and train side might not be the issue we thought it would be.

We enjoyed our recent stay at the Georgetown Inn. We spent a night in one of the regency suites on the 3rd floor for a special occasion. The room was quiet, very large, spotlessly clean and well appointed, with a large antique king sized bed, a wonderful soaking tub and gas fireplace. The bed was very comfortable and all the bed linens and towels were top quality. Tea for two including homemade cookies was waiting for us in front of the fireplace when we arrived. The staff were friendly and efficient. The location is fantastic - we parked the car at the hotel and walked into town along the river in about ten minutes. We had breakfast in the pub and it was very good. The hotel is quite quirky, with a small inn ambience and could use some updating, like carpeting, however would recommend if you are searching for something other than a standard hotel chain.

The room we were allocated was quite strangely arranged and pokey (especially around the bed area) plus there was an incredibly loud air conditioning unit that could not be adjusted and did very little. If we had the windows open we were drowned out by loud music all day from the outside terrace (even though nobody was out there at 11.15pm and 8am!). I went downstairs twice to complain as I wanted to sleep (the speaker was directly under our window).
Maid service never appeared during our 2 day stay.
We had an evening meal and a drink in the restaurant one night…. My Chardonnay was served at room temperature and the chicken salad arrived minus the meat!
Breakfast there on the last day however was fine.
I felt the staff seemed somewhat unprofessional and I got tap strong impression during our stay that there was a lack of management around the place.

This is a quaint hotel, restaurant, pub combination, which was the reason we chose it. Our room turned out to be located directly over the kitchen. While the hotel has a quiet time, this apparently doesn’t apply to the hotel workers themselves. We made multiple complaints to several of the staff, and also requested to be moved for our second night. In the morning they told us that we could not be moved, which is insane! We told them that it’s unimaginable that they could put people in such a room, above a kitchen, when the kitchen is making noise well after midnight. So, unfortunately we cancelled our second night and we’re forced to look for other accommodations. The hotel didn’t even offer any kid of compensation or reimbursement for the sleepless night!

We had a great stay! Beds were very comfortable, rooms were clean and modern with antique touches reminiscent of a British bed and breakfast. We felt like we were staying in another country. We had appetizers and drinks in the bar on the main floor which was delicious and well priced. I would definitely stay here again!

The Inn is charming with large guest rooms, great soaker tubs, lots of unexpected extras like tea and cookies! The elevator ride is an experience as well--don't miss it! The staff are very friendly and the pub inside the Inn serves great fish and chips and easy breakfast the morning after your stay.

Booked a king size bed but got a regular bed sized room. We could not get dressed at the same time as there was only room for one person to change at a time in front of the sink area. Towels and linens were clean and room vacuumed but bugs had collected in light fixture in bathroom and wall lamp shades had dust collected on top. Hair still in tub so don't know how well it had been sanitized and cleaned. Wood side table had seen better days. Wood frame around inside of door didn't even have nail holes filled in. Lots of tea and coffee with a kettle, teapot and a coffee maker. Described as quaint with some antiques and pictures of old movie posters with hand made write ups. However cheap wall mounted electric fire place that did not work deterred the quaintness for us. Bed needs replacing as sagged in the middle. Staff was friendly. I understand Covd might have affected the more thorough cleaning of the room. However, the run down parts could have been touched up during the down time. This room was NOT worth $155 a night.

My parents and I stayed in two rooms at the inn for three nights in Sept. This was a great place and I will definitely stay here again. My parents stayed in the two room Tudor Suite (on the ground floor) and I stayed in one of the Regency Suite rooms. Both were updated, comfortable, and clean. The Tudor Suite is close to the pub but noise was not an issue. I could hear the pub noise more at night and early morning (breakfast prep) since I was staying over it. We ate in the pub one evening and that was nice. Great outdoor pub area. Staff at the inn were VERY kind and helpful! The inn is immediately across the street from a bagel restaurant so I walked over there every morning to get muffins, bagels and juice. VERY good!

We love staying at the Georgetown Inn. The ambience delivers a lovely character warmth that you would expect from an old British hotel. Rooms are generous, bedding is soft and comfy, fireplaces and seating area In each room and the antique wood furniture is beautiful. Prices are too high for us except in off times. Also we were offered free breakfast because we are return customers and love the pub/restaurant downstairs.
