We stayed at the downtown Canmore Basecamp Suites January 22 to 25, 2023. We rented a one bedroom suite, which had a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom, along with a sitting area. It was a perfect location to walk to restaurants, pubs, walking trails and shopping in Canmore. Bed was very comfortable. Having a fridge was an asset to keep any left overs cold, or if you bring your own food or beer/wine. It was very quiet, and easy to find. Most suites have a parking spot, and if not, then you can find paid parking on the street. You will need to pay between 8 am to 8pm. It is free between 8 pm to 8 am. At a cost of $24/day.
We stayed in a 3 bedroom suite. It was clean, easily accessible and fit us all. The text with the check-in time, suite number, door code and contact information was very convenient. Our suite included a free parking spot that someone was parked in and it was sorted out quickly. The hot tub was clean and enjoyable. The kitchen was well-stocked and we cooked and ate in our suite for all meals. We were thankful for the washer/dryer and the dishwasher. We stayed here to be close to Sunshine for skiing but would definitely stay here again to explore Canmore as it is right downtown and close to everything.
I loved the location and the easy check in flow. Everything was very smooth for check in, and when we got into the room everything you need was there. Felt very home-like and I really enjoyed the set up and location. My only downside was the Hot tub maintenance. The view is spectacular and I’m sure people stay here for the views, but there was a lot of frost and I’m not sure if anything can be done about that. But it kind of blocked our view. Also there is no lobby and they don’t pick up the phone at the Lamphouse location. We had one interaction with a hotel staff and it wasn’t the best, which is kind of a downer when there is no lobby- front facing consumer interaction so that interaction was all we had. Overall, we did enjoy our stay and would recommend for anyone who wants convenience, privacy and smooth check in.…
We were utterly delighted with our stay at the Basecamp Suites. The whole check in was done remotely- I was a tad worried as I’ve never experienced that before but it was seamless! Emails with the key lock code, suite and parking number, Wifi details all came at exactly the right time. We loved our spacious 3 bedroom suite and the kitchen dining area was perfect for gathering around. Having a washer dryer was an added bonus. And even though the check-in was remote, we never felt abandoned by the staff. They checked in with us to see if we needed anything and how we were doing. We mentioned that we ran out of coffee and we had packets of coffee in our hands delivered within 10 minutes. The staff was efficient, attentive and kind. The location was perfect for us - right downtown in the heart of it all, just a short walk from shops and restaurants. Such a lovely 5 days with them. Absolutely stellar.…
Wonderfully equipped and with plenty of room for the family. We enjoyed making this our base for two nights. Check in should be completed 24 hours before arrival and then your room code and parking bay details are supplied. We had a three bedroom suite and everything we required was there. Our room faced the rail track, but ear plugs were supplied yet not needed as we all slept well. There were plenty of easy to get to dining options within walking distance, and supermarkets for groceries were a short drive away.
Great place to stay location was perfect for us . Enough parking space . Was able to check in on time. Room was very nice and clean.will definitely come back on my next trip to spend more time at this location . Quite place lots excess to restaurants and other activities.
We stayed in a one bedroom apartment with virtual check in. The room was clean, had everything we needed and best of all was in an amazing location. This is our third stay in Canmore in the last 10 years and by far the best location. Check in was easy and staff were available easily when needed. Would definitely stay here again! The price was also great!
I was given my door code but when we showed up and tried it, it didn't work because they either forgot to set the code or entered the wrong code prior to us showing up. I called the number for help 6 times while waiting outside the door and nobody answered my calls or text messages. My wife called and while I called before her, she finally talked to someone that helped us get in. The hottub closes when temps get below -20 unfortunately, so make note of that. The beds were rock hard and very uncomfortable but that can vary from person to person but is important to note. Not very sound proof because you can very easily hear people above or beside you in different rooms walking, talking, or making any noise at all which is annoying. One of the 2 bathrooms had no bodywash or conditioner in the dispensers. Other than that, the room was nice and clean and maybe someday we will give Basecamp Suites another chance.…
The hotel was located in a good location in downtown Canmore. As the hotel was downtown, the view from Room S204 was f the next building. The beds (in the three bedrooms) were very comfortable. The third bedroom was too small (there was about 2 feet of space between the bed and the walls). The largest bedroom had an ensuite bathroom with a shower stall. The second bathroom had a full bathtub. The room was advertised as having 2.5 bathrooms. I couldn't find the 0.5 bathroom (perhaps they meant the kitchen sink). One parking stall was included with the room. The parking stalls are very tight (especially for mini vans or large Ford F150 pickup trucks). There are a lot of street parking available nearby (2 hour parking limit between 8 AM and 6 PM). So, we didn't have any issues parking our second vehicle. There is also two free public parking lots (about 1 block away) with 4 hour parking limit between 8 AM and 6 PM. In general, the room was quite clean. However, we did sweep the floor and found a bit of "dirt/crumbs" that their cleaning staff missed (especially in the corners). Also, the paper towel they provided (in the towel holder) didn't look clean (a third of it appeared to have gotten wet and then dried). I also had clean the refrigerator (quite a bit of food crumbs in the corners of the trays (especially in the door trays). We also wiped down the insides of the cupboards. Everything else was OK (or appeared to be clean). Staff was also very responsive (must be contacted by telephone and not through texting) as they helped us with the washing machine, vehicle in our parking stall, and noisy upstairs neighbors. They only provided enough towels, plates, cutlery, cups for 8 people. This is really not enough for 8 people. I cannot comment on the rooftop hot tub (or views from the rooftop hot tub), as it was closed during our visit because of the cold weather (below -25 C). Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Basecamp Suites. It had everything that was needed.…
Awesome spot! Close to everything, nice modern finishes, lots of space. The sleeper sofa is very comfortable, As were the beds, kitchen was well equipped, big dining room table, we will definitely be back!
