Husband, wife, 10 year old and 2 dogs stayed 3 nights. When we checked in there was fresh baked chocolate chip cookies for us and denta-sticks for the dogs. They keep all the pet friendly rooms on the main floor which makes it easier to take them out. Our room was clean. It had 2 comfortable queen size beds. There were 2 dog beds with a couple of toys and water/food dishes. It also had a mini fridge and microwave. We stayed here during Covid (scamdemic). A free breakfast was offered but in a different way. The dining room was open but the employees put what you wanted in a to go container. They offered hash browns, cheese omelet, bacon, sausage and waffles. They also had yogurt, apple and orange juice and coffee. There wasn’t any dry cereal. Once you had your food you took it back to your room to eat. The pool is only offered to one room/cohort at a time. They allow a 25 minute swim then you have to get out. That allows the staff to wipe down high touch surface areas in between families. Time slots start at 0700-2130. The day we arrived I wanted to book a time slot. We were told they were booked for the day already. The system is you come to the hotel lobby at 0630 to book your spot for that day. My husband was there at 0635 and the person in front of him took the last spot. Our 10 year old was incredibly disappointed. Like every family we haven’t been in a pool for over a year. The next day my husband was in line at 0530 and he already was the 10th person in-line. We did finally get to swim for our very short 25 minutes but it was one of the highlights of our daughter’s trip. We passed the incoming family as we were leaving. I made a comment that the time goes by way to fast. Their response was, “that’s why you have to book 2 rooms!” The family consisted of what I assume to be grandma, grandpa, mom, dad and 3 kids. So they booked 2-25 back to back sessions. They technically aren’t the same household cohort. This really made me angry. I know the hotel is trying their best to work with health guidelines but that family screwed a lot of other families. It would be nice if you could also give families at least one swim time if they stay a certain amount of nights. The hotel is walking distance to Tim Hortons, Wendy’s and McDonald’s which is great for families with young children. The hotel staff were fantastic. They really were doing the best they could during this scamdemic. Thanks for a wonderful stay and we will be back!

The pool and water slide made our trip! The staff were wonderful and incredibly accommodating. Look forward to coming back when the lockdowns and COVID hysteria has subsided and people come to their senses. We have a severely disabled child and the hotel and staff were wonderfully accommodating, even though most of the rest of the town were cruel and mean to us because we are a mask exempt family. We love Canmore, and will stay at this hotel again for sure - I just hope the residents realize they seriously tarnish their amazing towns reputation by being so discriminatory against people with disabilities.

We had an amazing stay at the Pocaterra! Anna at the front desk is amazing, she is very personal & friendly. Anna made us feel special and not just like any other guest. Free hot breakfast is great feature. The pool was open and it was so much fun for our family - warning: the slide is fast ha ha. Booking the pool (Wednesday-Friday) was easy, at 6:30am head to front desk and book a 30 minute spot for that day. Having hard flooring in the rooms is very desirable, easier to keep clean. Rooms were a great size with all the amenities needed (fridge, microwave, etc). Rooms were mostly clean, but some areas needed a dusting. Will definitely tell our friends about this hotel and we will stay again for sure!

Excellent hotel, clean, helpful, nice to have breakfast. The option to use the pool which is great is riddled with problems. A “draw” type system would be better. As it is you have to register in person at 6:30am which leads to endless doors slamming open at shut from about 6am then crowding in the lobby all to guess at a time slot spot that may or may not be available. Other hotels put down preference (time slot ranges by 9pm the night before and are informed of their time. No crowding in lobby no unfortunate waking up or disappointed kids). Maybe if staying 3 or more nights - guarantee a spot? Hoping they solve this before we come back.

Thank you for your valued feedback, Hoddido. Unfortunately with current provincial restrictions we are only able to allow one household to use the pool area at a time. This gives us 30 available pool slots and we have 86 guestrooms in the hotel. However we organize the reservations, there are not enough time slots to accommodate all guests and therefore there are always going to be guests that are disappointed. We agree completely that this is far from ideal but there is no perfect solution currently. We look forward to welcoming you back once restrictions allow us to accommodate more people in the pool.

My family and I had a pleasant stay at the Pocaterra Inn. The staff’s dedication to a quality customer service is commendable . They do their best to stay in compliance with the AHS guidelines during this health crisis and still ensures their guests enjoy their stay. The complimentary hot breakfast is okay but it is the best I have had from hotels that offers breakfast since the start of pandemic. Keep up the good work!
