Detailed Reviews
We stayed her on the September long weekend, I'm so glad we got a hotel at all! The floors are hardwood and the room is large. Microwave in the room and breakfast was good (during covid no buffet). There are no coffee makers in the room, but you can have as many cups as you want in the lobby. Canmore is actually very nice to stay in. (even better than Banff because it's not as crowded)

Excellent hotel, clean, helpful, nice to have breakfast.
The option to use the pool which is great is riddled with problems. A “draw” type system would be better. As it is you have to register in person at 6:30am which leads to endless doors slamming open at shut from about 6am then crowding in the lobby all to guess at a time slot spot that may or may not be available. Other hotels put down preference (time slot ranges by 9pm the night before and are informed of their time. No crowding in lobby no unfortunate waking up or disappointed kids).
Maybe if staying 3 or more nights - guarantee a spot?
Hoping they solve this before we come back.

Thank you for your valued feedback, Hoddido. Unfortunately with current provincial restrictions we are only able to allow one household to use the pool area at a time. This gives us 30 available pool slots and we have 86 guestrooms in the hotel. However we organize the reservations, there are not enough time slots to accommodate all guests and therefore there are always going to be guests that are disappointed. We agree completely that this is far from ideal but there is no perfect solution currently. We look forward to welcoming you back once restrictions allow us to accommodate more people in the pool.

We were visiting Banff National Park and were looking for hotels in Banff and Canmore. Being only a short drive away from Banff NP and with cheaper hotel prices, we decided to stay in Canmore. Banff seemed a lot more crowded and a little more expensive. After doing a little research on the local hotels, we decided on the Pocaterra Inn and Waterslide. It was a great decision. We really enjoyed our 3 night stay here in September 2023. It is a very nice property but the rooms were the biggest takeaway. We reserved the Superior King Suite and thought it was a great value for the price. The room was very spacious and very nice; and when you are going to spend 3 nights in a hotel, you do not want it to be small and cramped. Our room had a fireplace and plenty of room to have some space. The front desk was very helpful with dinner recommendations and answering questions. The chocolate chip cookies in the evening were a nice touch. The morning breakfast was included and it was average but with everything else being so nice, that was ok. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a place to stay in the Banff area.

$21 for a missing bottle of f@!*ing lotion!! The hotel was very nice, everything was clean, the staff were friendly. That is until 2 days later when I was charged $21 for a bottle of hotel lotion. I know the lotion was taken to the pool to use on the kids once they got out, and must have been left there. It didn't matter to the the lady I talked to on the phone, housekeepers didn't find it in the room so I was charged.

Thank you for your review. Our hotel has made the decision to cease using small plastic bottles of bathroom amenities in our efforts to protect our fragile environment. Instead we provide larger refillable containers filled with an upgraded product from a local Canmore business. The products are of course free to use in the hotel rooms or as advertised the product can be taken and charged to the guests account. I am sorry to hear that you you were not in favor of our new initiative.

We arrived at the hotel in the morning, we planned to leave our luggage in storage and go for a walk. We were greeted by a smiling and kind reception representative, one of whom speaks Spanish. They were happy to inform us that our room is ready. We received detailed explanations about the hotel and its facilities.
The room we got was large, clean, spacious, a small balcony towards the mountain view.
The room has two very comfortable large beds. Spacious bathroom. There is air conditioning (we mainly used the cooler). There is a fridge.
The hotel has a pool with a water slide, we didn't get to use it. There is a small gym (it wasn't enough for our son so he went to a city gym). There is ample parking, free for hotel guests.
Buffet breakfast, a selection of things ranging from cornflakes to Belgian waffles, we did not find a similar meal in other hotels we stayed at on this trip.
The hotel is at the edge of the town, towards the exit to Banff, convenient for going on trips, if you don't have a car it is less convenient in terms of access to the center.
In front of the hotel there is a shop where you can rent bicycles.
In short, we really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and highly recommend it.

Generally a solid "good". Bit older male decoarated/ski motel. Comfortable and good bed..but hand soap very smelly. I understand supporting local..but "Lemon grass scent" by Rocky Mountain soap Co., was too strong for me. Pillows ok..some chipped foam..so I went to Can Tire and bought a pillow and new soap. Used airmiles so inexpenaive stay.so generally happy. Good breakfast but first eating place after covid restrictions reduced... I was nervous and found dining room busy and noisy on Sat morning..

Thank you for your review and valued feedback noreenm136. I am sorry that you did not like the upgraded soap products in our rooms. I do hope that you mentioned this to our friendly front desk team as we do have an alternative product available. I am pleased to see that you enjoyed our hotel otherwise.

Lineup for booking pool starts at 6:30 but people arrive starting at 5:30am. So a lineup of 30+ people to get a time slot . Booked this hotel specifically for pool bht my kids were disappointed to not get a time.

Thank you for your valued feedback, John and Brenda. I am sorry to hear that you were disappointed to not be able to use the pool during your stay. Current provincial restrictions only allow for us to have one household use the entire pool area at one time. This gives us 30 available time slots per day for 86 guestrooms and will undoubtedly lead to disappointment as we cannot accommodate everyone. Unfortunately, this will continue to be a challenge until restrictions are lifted. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back in the future when restrictions allow us to have more people enjoying our pool.

+1
We stayed here for one night while travelling through Canmore. The place caught our attention because of the waterslide. Our kids just loved it!
The property was everything we expected and more! It was clean, well-maintained and the rooms looked like they were recently re-done. The view from our room was simply breathtaking!
The beds were comfortable - the only negative were the pillows. They were hard and of low quality, but other than that, the sleep was decent.
Staff was friendly and helpful. We forgot our phone charger and were contacted in the afternoon to retrieve, once the room had been cleaned.
Breakfast was plentiful with eggs, sausage, bagels , fruit, cereal among other items.
You can't go wrong with staying here. We had an awesome experience and will return someday.

We stayed three nights. Found the hotel and Canmore as a whole, completely charming! Front desk and house keeping staff were lovely, our room was very large, really comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bathtub. We found the location to be excellent, we walked into town, across to other nearby restaurants and there is a 7/11 next door, very convenient. We used the pool and hot tub which was nice, we also used laundry facilities which was very handy. Overall was a great stay and if we get the chance to go back to Canmore we would definitely look to stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay! Comfy beds, a nice breakfast, and lots of fun in the pool! The waterslide was fast and great entertainment for our three boys.
We had a carsick child when we arrived and the staff were so incredibly helpful, providing me with some cleaning rags and supplies. They were friendly and compassionate. It was nice to be able to use laundry facilities as well.
Thank you, Pocaterra Inn, for giving our family an affordable and fun pre-christmas getaway!
