We have stayed here before and have been very happy. This time our unit was not ready at 4pm for us to check - in. Also several things could be fixed/updated in the unit. For example: the ensuite bath tub tap dripped all night, the clock in the master room was stuck on flashing time, and the dishwasher sounded like a jet when on. There are NEVER coffee filters left in the room with complimentary coffee

Stayed at an Air B&B, which was fantastic as it was brand new. The Lodges property itself is pretty run down. Would guess there have not been upgrades completed since they opened. The gym had carpet, which was dirty with random equipment all over the place. Not a lot of options to get a good workout in and was not welcoming. The gym also only opens at 8AM, which is very late. They have a number of hot tubs on the property, but the one change room we went in had water all over the floor, was dirty and did not smell good. It was December so we tried swimming in the pool but it wasn’t overly warm and the hot tub was over flowing with people. The change rooms, are just ok.

The underground parking was a nice touch.

The location is good and we loved our Air B&B but the property really needs some new paint, carpet and lighting in the hallways to make it appealing to visitors.

Nice Family Day weekend getaway. The two bedroom suite was nicely appointed with a king bed in one bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom which was great for our teenage kids. Most amenities were closed however due to COVID 19. The local coffee samples in the suite were excellent and it was nice to have parade parking due to the cold weather. Despite the cold we enjoyed the short walk 1 to 1.5 km walk into town along the creek. Some of the dishes should have been cleaner and the laundry closet could use vacuuming.

Main facility has old stained carpet and dirty floors. Very bleachy hottub on floor 2. Our room called Grizzly #224 had very worn furniture, and the carpet could have used a good cleaning too. Unit says it sleeps 10-12 but no one would want to sleep on the couch mattresses on either couch bed...only springs, not much cushioning at all. We were 5 friends so had to share beds. Bathrooms were well stocked and clean. Kitchen had good supply of pots, pans, dishes, etc. Room was warm and stuffy. There were some plug in fans to move air around and we keep the patio door open for air. The portable room air conditioner was something else! A hole cut in the glass window to vent it outside. Duct tape and a fork to hold it in place and hand printed sign taped to the window to keep it open to vent the machine. Very poor! We paid $1260 total for 2 nights which I thought we would have a better experience for that money. The place is getting dumpy, the whole facility at The Lodges looks old and dated, needs a refresh and our unit #224 owned privately but rented by The Lodges needs to be refreshed. Very worn/used and unprofessional maybe even dangerous with the "jimmy rigged" air conditioner.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, very comfortable beds, everything we needed for our stay, location is a 10 minute walk to downtown and cycling is a great option. We will return! Low season is a wise time to visit Canmore/Banff areas. Hot tubs are very small, which means you have to wait for availability.

We just returned from a weekend vacation too this Hotel. It was probably one of the worse experiences we had at a Hotel. When we arrived too check in we were put in the Cougar Lodge. The minute we opened the door we knew this was a mistake. The suite looked like it was never cleaned. Everything was covered in dust. The furniture was in such rough shape and old. Couch had stains. The barbeque was all rust so unsafe too cook on. No air conditioning. We were so surprised by this especially during Covid. We went too the front desk and asked for the Manager and conveniently there was no Manager on duty. We told the front desk employee we are not staying in that room.. He found us another room in the Grizzly Lodge. The room was a lot newer and somewhat cleaner, but still had alot of dust so we cleaned up a few things ourselves. It looked like they never even pulled the fridge or stove out too clean behind it. You could see the thick dirt between the counter and the stove. The Hotel website said that during Covid they have staff cleaning elevator buttons, door handles etc. We never saw any staff cleaning anything. There was no cleaning services. So if you needed anything you had too go get it from the front desk. You also had too haul your garbage yourself too a basement. But we think it could be because of Covid. The next day my husband did talk too the manager and told her maybe someone should be checking these room before they rent them out she didn't seem too concerned. For 200 plus a night this Hotel needs a big makeover.

We enjoyed out stay. The rooms were well stocked and larger than I expected. There is an air conditioner in the living area but due to the AC you cannot open the window in the living room as it has the AC vent built in. This made it difficult to get any air to circulate in the condo. The AC doesn't work great either.

I didn't want to leave such a poor rating but I struggled to justify anything higher - there were too many negatives.

First the positives: pool and hot tub looked inviting and the check in service was quick and efficient. The unit has all the necessary appliances including BBQ, fridge, microwave, etc.

Now for the negatives: our one bedroom suite smelled somewhat musty. The view from our unit was of some trees and the road. Sad to not have a view in a beautifully situated city like Canmore with mountains all around! It's on the far end of town and there are lots of options closer (it was totally walkable but 15-20 minutes depending on where you are going). The room itself looked pretty dated. Needs a good sprucing up. There was a big gap on the wall where I think a painting should have been but was oddly blank.

I think they have just packed in too many units into this condo area. Although check in service was efficient it was a bit hectic to find parking for the car to check in.

Finally, it would be nice if they just added some finishing touches like giving each guess a free dishwasher tablet. I went to another similar place that did that and it just puts a smile on your face.

Overall, we didn't have a bad experience here but I think they can do more with what you pay them.

Very disappointing. This is supposed to be a Premium Suite. It does not look like what was advertised. Very shabby. The sofa snd chairs in the living room are dirty and worn. I had to cover the sofa with a sheet before sitting down and I didn’t want to touch the cushions. The living room rug and bedroom carpet are dirty and should have been replaced long ago. Some bed pillows are lumpy. Towels are clean but scratchy. Toaster is broken. Otherwise, place has amenities advertised, like kitchen equipment, laundry supplies, etc.

This is a big complex. Apparently, some appartments are used by permanent tenants (mailboxes in the hallway, etc) and some are rented out for hotel guests. Limited housekeeping. Our unit was very large (two bedrooms in “Cougar" building ). There was a fully equipped kitchen, with dishes, pots and pans and with all appliances. Even washer and dryer were in a unit. Two full bathrooms. Everything clean and nice, though in some areas one could see some wear and tear. This particular unit had a smallish balcony with some limited mountain views. In units we had stayed before in this hotel the balcony was much larger. There was a very tired BBQ on the balcony (no ingiter, no termometer, not too clean but working fine) Also, a small table and four chairs. A large living room had a table for six, a coffe table, small TV, sofa bed and a fireplace. Central AC was not very effective. While in hallways it was nice and cool, in the unit not so. So, the unit was equipped with a portable AC unit, working okay but somehow noisy.
Large outside swimming pool was closed due to COVID (understandable). But, also due to COVID, the front desks hours were limited to 9 AM – 9 PM (???) . In the underground parking, there was no problem with finding space.
Overall it was a pleasant and comfortable stay but nothing too fancy. Good value for larger families.

The premium one bedroom suites are in the Grizzly Lodge which is the newest building of the three on the property. The Grizzly Lodge is closer to railroad tracks than the other two but the entire complex is quiet overall. I would just suggest booking a room with a request you are assigned a room not facing the tracks so you can enjoy an updated suite and not be bothered by the noise from the train.
