Looking for a comfortable place to spend our time in the mountains, we landed on this place. It was in great location, walking distance to downtown and close to highway access. Check in was complicated as our access code did not work and we had to call for help. The new code worked and we were in. The place was large and well appointed. Beds were comfortable and the kitchen was fully equipped. Cleaning could have been better and I had to continually relight the hot water heater so we could have showers. Parking is on sitem, but access is tight for large vehicles.

The suite was clean and comfortable. The kitchen was equipped with what we needed, although we did not do any cooking during our stay. It is smaller than what the pictures make it appear to be. We stayed here only for a weekend and did not spend a lot of time in the room so the internet not working the first night or the dead batteries in the remote control were not a big issue. I was surprised that there was not a hair dryer available.
It is a short walk to downtown Canmore which was nice. The parking was very tight, not sure how someone with a truck or larger SUV would fit. There was some parking available on the street, but there was also construction going on so it was limited.

Fire Mountain Lodge was a wonderful place to stay. We had nice bedrooms with private bathrooms downstairs and just enough room upstairs to work in the kitchen. A nice dining room table with comfortable chairs and a cozy and comfortable living room area were great spaces to chill. We spent our evenings at the dining room table planning out our next day's agenda. This place also had a 1/2 bath upstairs and a washer/dryer in the unit.

We were within walking distance of a few very good table service and fast food restaurants. Gas (petro) station was just down the street.

The hub of Canmore, shops, more restaurants, grocery stores, etc... were just a 2 minute drive or a nice easy walk.

The parking at fire mountain lodge was very tight. Everyone but the driver had to get out of the car before the vehicle was parked. But at least we always had a space. That was no problem. This is the only thing that reduced the rating from 5 stars to 4.

All in all, we enjoyed our stay here and had a great time in the Canmore/Banff area.

It needs cleaning, repairs, and fix the heating so there is heat in the bedrooms, plus the parking stalls are quite tight...cannot park there with a truck or bigger vehicle. Needs kitchen items like broiling pan, BBQ brush, tea pot with lid, dishwasher could be updated, fix fireplace as fell apart when we were there, hem the curtains, vacuum around baseboards as there was 1/4 inch of dust, put clean sheets on the beds, change the light bulbs etc.

I made an impromptu plan to visit Canmore and found this hotel for a big discount the night before. Upon arrival, we were blown away by what we received for the price. There was a full kitchen with coffee maker, water boiler, full utensils and knives, plates, etc., small living room with a fold out sofa, two bedrooms each with a full bathroom and tv, as well there is a half bathroom on the top floor. The parking is very small, not ideal for anyone with larger vans or SUVs. There are stone pillars that prop the upper levels every two spaces. The area is also slightly outside the main area of the city, but is all accessible by walking, cycling, or driving. There is currently a new facility being built adjacent to the property but the noise did not bother us. There are also balconies outside the rooms and one at the top with a BBQ grill. There is also laundry! There is no front desk. You will receive an email with a password to your room. It is a little confusing to use but you get the hang of it after. I only spent one day there, but now I wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy Canmore-Banff and also enjoy the place.

However, the bathrooms seem to have thin walls. I could hear people walking around in the tub in the morning, or so it sounded like it.

The place needs maintenance. The kitchen was dirty with visible garbage in gap between fridge and counter. Many of the appliances in kitchen are old and noisy (fridge & dishwasher). Luckily bedrooms are downstairs, otherwise noise from fridge would have been very annoying if bedrooms were at the main level. All the flush levers/handles on all three toilets in unit didn't work. Had to remove tank covers and pull up on levers to flush toilets; very annoying. Sliding doors in both bedrooms were not locked properly when we arrived and also were letting in cold air; they should be re-sealed/fixed. Rooms were cold during the night even though we turned the heat up. Overall, not a pleasant stay!

The room looked like it had been cleaned very fast as some parts were clean, but then other parts were dirty. The floor was sticky in the kitchen. The mirrors in the bathrooms were spotted. There was a sock in the sofa bed when we opened it and the bedding lookes dirty so we were not confident it was clean. The beds were also not very comfortable and there was a pile of dirty towel on the floor in the laundry room so it was unable. However, other things did look Clean like the bathtubs and the fridge, etc.

We made our booking over the phone, and we were promised a room with 1 King, 2 Queen Size beds, and 3 baths. We were promised a 10% discount on the original rate of $500 over the phone.
Upon our arrival we noticed that there were only two double beds, 1 sofa bed and 2 baths. We called the office and they said they can apply an extra 15% discount on our room rate, which we were happy with. But when we recieved our credit card statement we noticed there was only one discount applied. I tried to call them and discuss the matter, but they were firm and said that we were wrong. Unbelievably terrible service, we didn't recieved what were promised.

Pictures online of this place and specifically the room we had booked looked good. However, the view was not as advertised and our rooms were actually in the basement. The beds were uncomfortable.

Towels and bedding had large yellow stains on them.

I was out getting ready for my role in a wedding party when my wife called me distressed that she couldn't get back into our room after going for groceries. I ran back to the room from another hotel down the street to find the kids (3 y/o and 8 mo/o) screaming because it was past their nap times. I had to call FML (ironic?) support to get a new door code (took 4 tries to even talk to someone, the answering service said all of their attendants were busy). Finally got in and had to run back, was nearly late for wedding photos.

The other thing that really ruined our experience at this place was my wife got a huge sliver in her side while we were packing up at the end of our trip from the banister opposite the kitchen island.

Rooms were clean. Walls, fixtures and furniture need some touchups and updating. View from the lower rooms is not great, backs onto a construction lot of some sort. Kitchen was clean, could have used a dish towel and cloth though.
