Detailed Reviews
Nice place to camp overnight. The scenery once you venture out is amazing. Definitely get there early to reserve a spot. No hookups in most spots. Washrooms a tad dirty. Campground is average. Make sure to venture out and check out the creek and lake.

Amazing camp site with breathtaking views and 10 minute drive to Canmore. We had a bear come the through the camp ground, lots of hiking trails.
On the downside it's quiet time at 11 pm, no music...boo and the highway is close by so you can hear the cars racing by!

Clean dry restroom.
The staff come each evening to offer you firewood, great service for a self-registring campground.
We had site #1 which was the more intimate and near the restroom. Beautifull and big site. No shower. There is a cover place with picnic table inside for rainning days. Well placed : 1 minute from a convenience store and 20 from canmore. Amazing view!

Stayed here with my husband and almost 5 year old. We arrived at noon on a Monday and found the most desirable campsite they have available! Campsite was very tidy and fire pit was cleaned. We were right on the bow river. It was beautiful. Our little guy had a great time fishing. Even though I don’t think there was any fish. No playground for kids though which was kind of a bummer.
So peaceful and fairly private. Self check in was a breeze and getting firewood was just as simple. Super friendly staff member. Bathrooms were clean but typical “outhouse” style. We didn’t really have to use as we had a camper.
Will definitely be returning to this site. Plus deadman’s flats is quite a cute little spot with a convenience store with everything you would need for a stay as well as some nice little walking paths.
One “con” I found was there were a few beautiful sites on the river that a camper or tents occupied. However, the 3 days we were there, there weren’t people ever at those sites. I would imagine they would come on the weekend. But I feel a person would need to be present on site in a 24 hour period to keep the spot. Just an observation and opinion.

This campground came to our rescue twice on our trip when many other campgrounds were full! This is a convenient campground which is a short distance to downtown Canmore. The campground hosts are nice and helpful!

The campsite was fine, first come first serve and not right beside your neighbours. However I am giving a 1 star review because of the staff. My boyfriend and I arrived around 1030am, found a vacant spot with no occupied sign close to the river, and set up shop. We paid and put up our occupied sign and spent over an hour setting everything up (tent, tarp, chairs, etc.). After the hour passed a car came up to us stating they were supposed to have the spot but went into town to get food without putting up an occupied sign or leaving anything in the spot. We said it was up to the staff what happens next.
About 3 hours later a campsite worker comes up to our spot and says 'So you're the ones who stole the spot from the other people'.... I stated 'we did not steal it, there was no occupied sign and nothing in the spot, and they showed up an hour after we did'. She then states 'well thats just great, I found them a much better camping spot anyways' and drives off without another word.
Will not be spending another dollar here and I encourage others to find a better location that doesn't treat their guests like garbage.

Great campground - daily cost is competitive for a full service site; however - water distribution to each camp site has been completed - but NOT started up ..... when we asked the local attendent - the reply was - waiting on someone in Edmonton to OK the start-up !! Judging by the appearance of the constructed underground lines - the system has been installed for at least the past year ..... still not started-up .....
