Arrived July 1. Campground was clean and quiet. Campsite stalls look like nobody was previously camping there. Clean, groomed, empty fire pit. Site was spotless. Watched camp ground attendant clean every site after vacated. Campsite out-houses also spotless. Will definitely return. Only down fall no sani-dump and highway traffic noise. Canmore only 5 minutes away free dump site at information center. Special mention to Darryl the campsite attendant-works hard and does a great job.

We stayed one night at spot #28. It had a beautiful view of the river and mountain but also a clear view of the highway. The noise wasn’t too bad after around 10pm, but got a bit loud again around 6am.
We also found upwards of 30 ticks all over our tent, camping chairs and hammock in the morning.
The proximity to Canmore is great and the highway noise isn’t a deal breaker, but because of the ticks I probably wouldn’t go back.

Nestled along the river a few short km from Canmore. It’s along the hwy, if you’re a light sleeper not great. Dogs liked the pathways. We have a trailer and had full hook ups. Great value for price. It was raining while we were there so our time outside was not as much as we would have liked. This was a stop between to our next destination and was just fine.

This campground has many spacious sites surrounded by plants and trees. We really enjoyed number 13 in our 25’ RV. If you can manage to reserve #15, that site is right on the river and also has privacy of some plants around it. There was a campground host so we were able to buy firewood for $10. We used the showers but if you are in an RV I would recommend using your own. The campground showers are clean but the water pressure is very low and you have 3 minutes for a token. Full hook ups, awesome biking to Canmore. The weather was perfect for our trip the first week of September. It was an excellent stay and I highly recommend.

The site has no hookups for sewer, so you will have to use the campground bathrooms which
don't have any heat or free hot water. You will have to buy tokens for hot water at $3 each for 5 minutes of hot water. The real problem is the showers basically have no shower head so you get a stream of water with not much pressure. I was annoyed that it cost $6 to get enough water to wash your hair! The campground may seem reasonably priced but paying for showers will make up the difference.
If you don't mind this then you may like the campground, but also you should know that a lot of sites are a long walk to bathroom facilities.

A beautiful place that has quite a few waterfront spots, of which I think #27 is one of the best. The campground is run by the Bow Valley Park Rangers and they do a great job maintaining this campground. Power and Water is available on most spots, lots of trees and just all around beautiful. The proximity to Canmore is perfect. We will definitely be back!

The campsite is next to a very busy main road which kept us awake at night.
Toilets and showers need a really good clean! They are filthy!
Be aware there is a 3 dollar charge for a shower. You get 5 minutes exactly!
The campsite attendant was quite unfriendly.

The highway 1 is quite close and loud. The area is pretty and well maintained. You have to pay 3$ for a shower. But really the worst; No dumping station!!!!?What?!? That’s unacceptable in 2022! And there is no service close to this place. Easy to find better.

I stay in the area frequently and this is my usual campground. First, I'd like to clear up some confusion. This campground is just east of Canmore and is right beside the highway. The review two below that states otherwise is actually a review for Bow Valley Provincial park, which is about 25 km east of Canmore. This is Bow River campground. I give this four stars mostly because of the convenience of being so close to Canmore. The actual sites vary, some spacious and very nice while others are quite close to the highway and are very noisy. There are no electric sites or flush toilets. If you don't care about being close to town or want a quieter place with more amenities, there are better campgrounds to choose. If your mostly just looking for a place to sleep while your in the area and want a five minute drive to a burger or a double double, this is a good choice.

We camped out here while we were up in Canmore. Knowing what we know now we would have made other arrangements. It was an ok campground, enough space (although $35 for firewood? Sheesh). But it's right beside the highway and all night we heard the big trucks and vehicles rushing down the highway. Didn't get much sleep at night - and a long lineup at the Tims for my needed coffee to survive!!
