We had an absolutely, lovely time at the Bed and Breakfast. Don and James have a beautiful home and we enjoyed our time there. They have designed the interior with Frank Lloyd Wright's specific designs and his nature-loving spirit. The setting in the woods helps you relax from the moment you pull in. The pool was a big draw for us and I spent a lot of the time floating, swimming and drinking in the forest around the indoor pool. Also, they have thought of everything and seem to have taken COVID in stride which is no small feat. From the moment we walked in the door we were surrounded in beautiful art and we felt looked after. Thank you, Don and James!
Took my Mum for a few days "escape" and she loved it. We had the "Chocolate" Suite with the balcony that she enjoyed every chance she got. Hosts are caring and rightfully proud of their beautiful property. From the gardens & creek to the pool that makes you feel like you are nestled beside a botanical garden to the artwork and the attention to architectural details inside of the home. A boutique inn disguised as a house among others along a main street - the homogeneity of the drive in is quickly lost when you step in the front door. It is close to the city and yet you would never know once you are embraced inside.
We so enjoyed our stay with Don & James when we were recently in town for a wedding. Everything was as described and even better than in their listing. We stayed in the Suite Cherry. So private and quiet. The balcony was the perfect spot on a sunny and very warm morning to enjoy our breakfast. It is a busy street but we had no problem entering or exiting the driveway. This was by far the best experience we have had at a bnb. Very well done and look forward to visiting again.
We had a wonderful stay here. Don & James are absolutely the perfect hosts. We had our own private ‘apartment’ within the chocolate suite. Would love to stay here again when we return to Waterloo. It’s a lovely neighborhood for long walks as well, weather permitting. Thank you Don / James for your warm hospitality .
There isn’t much more I can say about this lovely place than has already been said. My husband and I are not B&B lovers. This place is different and I’m glad we took the chance and stayed here. We highly recommend it!
We decided to wander around this part of Ontario just to see what it is like. Although I did not find a lot to love in Kitchener/Waterloo, we did like this BnB very much. As others have written, Don and James have thought of everything. They are there to greet you and show you around and there to say goodbye, but leave you alone in between which works very well for me. I also was quite happy with the breakfast basket in my own room. If you want 5 courses of fancy foods this may disappoint but there were many good choices available - cereal, juice, yogurt, muffins, hard boiled eggs, toast - that we picked up when we wanted to in the morning. The kitchenette was also available for guest use. The house fronts on a busy street but the back yard is another world with lush gardens and a stream. We were fortunate to be there on a very nice day. The indoor pool is one of the prettiest pools I have ever used. The st Jacob's Saturday market was wonderful and the farmland around there is really beautiful for an afternoon drive. I nightly recommend this inn…
My mom and I stayed here for two nights, and it was the perfect, quiet getaway, where we could enjoy the pool without worrying that there would be tons of kids at it; the whole reason we chose this place. Don and James exceeded our expectations as hosts; friendly, accommodating, helpful and kind. We couldn’t ask for anything more. Personally, I felt the pictures didn’t do this place justice! I’ve never seen a home so meticulously maintained and cared for. Highly recommend this B&B for anything considering it!!
We have enjoyed colonial Creekside B&B several times. Love love the atmosphere and ambiance. Don and James are the ultimate hosts. I have to admit I love the indoor pool 🏊🏼♀️ and the private breakfast. The house is fabulous and homey and grounds amazing. James and Don you have gone above and beyond!! Russell and Donna
We had the Chocolate Suite and Cherry Suite staying two nights. The rooms are extremely large, comfortable and decorated nicely. We enjoyed being able to meet in the sitting area of the Chocolate Suite with the fireplace going and the view from the windows. Don and James have thought of everything to make the stay very comfortable. The breakfast arrangements suited us very well. Location is great, we went to St Jacobs and surrounding area on the Saturday. Accessible to a variety of restaurants and entertainment. Everything seemed to be just minutes away by car. Very enjoyable relaxing stay reconnecting as old friends.
We are staying in the Chocolate Suite and it is lovely! The windows let a lot of light in, with views of snowy trees and a small creek. The rooms are quaint with tons of old paintings and antique furniture. The pool room is AMAZING - it is so warm and the windows at night really set the mood. We loved our 3 nights here, 1 more to go and we don't want to leave! Highly suggest this B&B to anyone who wants to truly relax and get away from the bustle of the city. :)
