We arrived on the Sunday during a major heat wave, given key to room that was in another part of building, the hallways and stairs were so hot you practically felt faint. The first room was dirty, the carpet floors, shower stall floor, sofa and pillows were filthy. The pillows also had a certain stench to it and the air conditioner did not work. We asked for another room and it was much better except we were welcomed with smell of weed. All was fine till the air conditioner stopped working around midnight - 1AM or so (remember we’re in the middle of heat wave), the hallway was so hot it was crazy. The breakfast was pretty good except for the waffle appliance, it did not ring loud enough so my wife’s waffle was quite burnt. The young women at the reception desk are very polite and happy to assist with anything you need. If you stay here, make sure to ask for the newer rooms, which are just above reception desk, rooms are cleaner and modern.

Room is nice, was clean and comfortable. If that's all you want, you'll be fine.
Breakfast was included in our stay, we came down around 8:30AM and saw people were waiting for eggs (the egg tray was empty). To make a long story short everyone waited a long time before one person went into the back to ask when more eggs would be coming and found out that they were done for the day. This was pretty disappointing, it made for a pretty light breakfast and we left hungry and ate elsewhere. So including breakfast in your stay isn't really a benefit if there is no breakfast.
The hot tub the night before was also disappointing, it was barely a lukewarm tub. The other family that came down to try it out felt the same way. It's one of those perks I like to look forward to but it was not to be this time.

Breakfast was absolutely amazing! Room was nice and clean and staff very pleasant. The only problems we had was having to keep asking for pool towels because there was never any in the pool area and it's supposed to be a heated pool but it definitely was not heated. We tried to go in but it was just too cold. We also had a bit of problem getting coffee pods for the Keurig in our room, the front desk saying there was a shortage. Cleaning lady finally had some for us:) Apart from that, it was a great stay and we will be back!!

Booked via booking.com, read the questions and answers, question asked do you accept debit/cash, answer, yes we do. Booked using my visa debit, asked to pay for the room with my visa debit and put the security deposit on my MasterCard. Absolutely not, not able to do it, told by desk staff "manager will be in at 430pm come back and speak with him, after driving 2 hours from home felt it was worth a shot, waited out in the heat for an hour, came back around 440pm, same clerk tells me, sorry the manager is on vacation lol, sounded sketchy and just figured the manager didn't want to bother speaking with me, all good, lesson learned and would never visit this location again. Stayed in hotels in Times Square with less hassle.

I think the clerk used a bait and switch to overcharge us. We were quoted $399. 80 for two nights when we booked and I have the email to prove it.. When we checked in we were given a room, with a sitting area, on the sixth floor and were told that would keep us away from all of the hockey players there for a tournament. When we left we were told that the computers were down but they'd email the receipt. Our Visa was billed right away but only after several calls and emails we finally received the receipt 6 days later and the total came over $700.00, The clerk upgraded us without asking us for approval. That is a scam! We have been trying for4 days now to get a call back from the manager and owner or but neither is calling us back.

Hotel is way understaffed, evidenced by the lack of cleaning I witnessed. God knows what ground into the carpets, stains everywhere. Room shower head needs a good clean with CLR, shower base stained with dirt. Common areas crammed with people loafing Round sitting kn the floors, reeks like BO in the lobby area. Thought we'd go for a swim, nope. Hot tub defunct, pool had life preserver floating in there along with some nondescript floaters on the bottom of the pool. Little kids ripping up and down the hallways until past midnight, hockey parents getting loaded in the parking lot and being mass loud. Never again.

I will never be staying at a Best Western again, especially this one! They ripped me off for a $30 "early check in fee" because my room was ready and I was able to check in before 4pm. I asked the front counter staff member if they could waive this fee or ask the manager if he could. The "gentleman" working the counter was the rudest, most ignorant person I've ever encountered in the hospitality industry. First of all, I never heard of such a BS fee! He told me it was to cover housekeeping having the room ready early! The room was ready whether I was checking in or not! He then told me he'd rather me cancel my weekend reservation and lose the entire amount, then not charge the extra $30 fee! Then walked away for 5mins and said "you decide what you want to do and let me know!"

I stayed at the Best Western Plus in Waterloo, Ontario for two nights in August due to work engagements in the city. After an exhausting day of working, at midnight on my second night there, I discovered bloodstains on the duvet.
As I was staying in a room with two queen beds, and it was midnight, I decided to inform the staff upon check out in the morning. At 9am I spoke with the manager, Steven Jones, and informed him about the disgusting and unhygienic conditions of the room. He was apologetic and confirmed that a full refund would be issued. I verified this several times in the conversation with him, even going so far as to open my banking app to confirm the total amount. He assured me that the full amount would be refunded.
Over the weekend I noticed that while the full refund was issued, another charge from Best Western Plus Waterloo appeared on my card. Upon calling to find out about this charge, I was told that because I complained at check out time I could only be issued a refund of one night.
Since then I have called the head office and the Waterloo location several times to secure the full refund which was promised to me. Head office has informed me that the management at Waterloo refuses to issue a full refund. Somehow it was my fault for not notifying them immediately when I discovered the bloodstains - not their fault for actually allowing a room to be released to a guest in such a vile state.
This is an abhorrent business practice. Not only was the room in a disgusting state - particularly concerning given the ongoing issues of Covid and monkey pox - but the general manager lied to me about refunding my charges.
Needless to say, I will never return to this hotel, and I strongly advise you to stay away too.

I booked a room a month before we went with Expedia, I confirmed our reservation a week before arriving with the hotel front desk and was told everything was good to go. After a 6-hour drive, we arrived at the hotel only to be told our reservation was cancelled. We had zero warning, no text, phone call, email. The gentleman at the front desk offered no apology or help with another hotel. (This was a big tournament weekend very few rooms available anywhere, that's why the month in advance booking) He blamed Expedia and said there was a buffer time for third party reservations, well I feel a month advance booking is enough plus the week before confirmation is certainly enough buffer. Anyway, I had to call the hotel, and best Western Plus head office to try and get a refund, Expedia ended up getting me my refund and said the hotel had maintenance issues with the room. Took six days to get a simple refund, and was lied to the whole time.

very rude staff. We were never told upon check in that the pool area was closed. We then asked to check out but were told that we had to pay for the room anyways. My travelling partner asked a question about the "newcomers to Canada" he was called a racist. I was even called a racist by the general manager and I didn't say anything. They also charged the room twice on my credit card and put me over my very low limit even though I told them I would be paying with debit upon check out. The general manager also told me that there was a $100 deposit (which he claimed that every hotel does....not) which I would get back in 5 business days. I was told by the general manager not to return to this hotel. Stay away from this hotel. You will be disappointed with their service.

It's really not a good buffet. If there are 4 people in the room and the breakfast package is $20 more per day, for the $5 per person per day you are paying for convenience. a 5 minute drive will get you McDonald's or Timmy's, so you do have options. Hope you find a nice place for your guests, and enjoy the wedding!
