Lovely family, the owner is always available if you need anything, welcomed us at 1:30 am for a late check in! Great AC in the room, comfortable bed, beautiful view of the lake. Only minutes away by car from the grocery and supermarket. Ideal if you plan a weekend to visit sandbanks!

The front desk man was pleasant. The room was not well repaired, I mean more repairs were needed and what had been done were not professional work. The bed was fine and appliances worked. Nice location but not a honeymoon destination more suited for fishermen. Tip do not open bathroom window if you are leaving a light on as the screen mesh will not keep out small flying insects.

this is the 3rd time I have stayed at this hotel. The owners were very accommodating. Check in is very easy. The view is lovely of Bay of Quinte. With each visit, there were improvements made--it does need some updating but for the price, it is acceptable place to stay. Fridge, microwave and sink were all in the room. Bring your own toiletries. Wifi is sketchy at times. No bugs and bed/pillow were comfortable. I recommend this hotel and I would stay there again.

Room was old, full of carpet stains, spider webs and mold all over bathroom. The cable box was hanging from the back of the tv and only stuck on to the bottom of the tv with weird sticky goo. Do not pay for the room until inspecting it! I paid for a room for one night, stayed for 30 minutes & asked for a different room for obvious reasons and was given keys to a 2nd room that was the same state. When I went back to the office to ask for my money back, I was only given a 50% refund since we had "used" the room & toilet paper. (I had to use the bathroom after a long drive). Will not recommend this motel to my worst enemy!!

A small quiet motel in a quiet area. There is an access to a waterfront, and some guests were even fishing. Rooms are reasonably comfortable. There is at least one restaurant in a walking distance (Chef Eagle Bar & Grill).

Personally, I would recommend this place.

This place was rundown. It was the worst stay of our multi hotel trip. If I hadn't prebooked, I would have walked out. The river is not close and geese occupy the shoreline. The mattress was somewhat comfortable, but that's the only good thing I can say

Filthy dirty, drug addicts wandering around the property and bugs and mold infested. We are both sick most likely due to exposure to mold. I woke up in the morning with several bug bites. We had booked for several days and couldn’t wait to get out of there after only one night.

My hubby and I stayed here for two days. First I will point out it was minus 20 out side.we reserved a room. They didn't have the brain to turn on the heat. Hubby is on blood thinners and it took two hours to heat the room and him. Also I would like to point out that the doors have a big gap allowing cold air in.. Also after I left they charged me for smoking in the room. I WAS NOT SMOKING IN THE ROOM.I sat out side in my truck..But I did have a vanilla scented candle to cover up the stink in the room. PLACE NOT CLEAN AT ALL..BEWARE..

Where do I begin? I stayed in room 105 for two nights in aug 2013, And I have only once seen a more disgusting room. When you walk in the door you notice right away that the dead bolt has been smashed out before and doesn't lock properly and that there is a pile of dead bugs in the base of every light. The floor was sandy and had hair on the carpeted areas...(enough that we could see it against the floor). The bath tub was nice and the tiles were clean, but the walls in the wash room had perfect hand prints everywhere and the sink area was very dusty. The bed room had either pudding or some other rusty brown liquid (blood!?!?) smeared on the wall beside our bed and there was long blonde and short black curly hair in the bed (thankfully we pack our own pillows). We just did our best to pick up and clean before we let our children in. We could have complained I know, But when your four month old and your three yr old just want out of the truck.. and you've already paid... on a long weekend in a town you don't know.. You just have to take the hit and then let others know what happened.

We stayed at The Bayside Motel from June 19th to the 21st. I read many reviews on the motel before deciding to book. We wanted a modest room but of course required cleanliness and a comfortable bed.
Overall the room was ok, small and modest! My finding a used condom wrapper on the bathroom floor started the downfall of my expectations. The shower was less than acceptable (very low water pressure) and the tub would not drain. The owner came to look at the shower and did what he could to fix it. Needless to say our last day we left without showering choosing to wait till we got home.
More attention to cleanliness is needed, candy wrappers were behing the chair......
The bed was suppose to have been a queen but I am pretty sure it was only a double and only two pillows were in the room. Not sure if we could have gotten extras in all fairness as I didn't ask.
I would not book here again.
