No signage to direct you to the hotel (circled around the block twice, in search of an entrance or markings for the motel). Old, musty smelling, doors that don't lock or shut. Only sign in, possibly out is the bar/restaurant (and if it isn't open, you are out of luck). Dirty beds and bathroom with a sink ghat leaked all over the floor. We were supposed to be there for 2 nights, and left after 1 night and at 6am.
My husband and I took a little getaway...booked this hotel online through airmiles. The reviews posted here are accurate and I would not recommend this hotel at all. We were shown 3 different rooms none of which we considered. It looked like homeless people were living in the parking lot. Went to Best Value Inn and could actually sleep without wondering if our car would still be there in the morning.
We had to stay in Parry Sound due to a family emergency and this was one of the closest hotels. It was disgusting and dirty. The staff were nice and friendly though. The first night there was hardly any heat in the room and we were switched to a room that was pretty sketchy. The bathroom was dirty and mouldy and the carpet in the room was thin and dirty. The bed was comfortable and cozy but my sheet was dirty so I question whether they were even changed. There was no front desk or anyone to talk to and I was exhausted so I sucked it up. I would not recommend this place until it has had a huge facelift.
While well located in town this Hotel was a huge shock. We were on a road trip and booked last minute. The beds were clean. But locks on doors were iffy. The back door leading to parking lot was open all night propped open with a bucket and wire. We did stay as we had no other choice but its got to be the worst of any we have stayed in.
A couple weeks ago I booked 2 hotel rooms on Booking.com for my family and I for the Labour Day long weekend. The hotel was advertised as a 3 star hotel on the website. Google says 2 stars which is still laughable, I would struggle to call this a motel. The photos looked promising and for just the one night it looked adequate enough. The price after tax was $214.70 for both rooms. There was no formal reception area when we arrived, just a waitress (who I later found out was the food and beverage manager, Angela Deciccio) in a closet with a desk. The entire building was filthy and run down. We didn’t stay for longer than 10 minutes. The rooms had not been properly cleaned since the previous occupants. The sheets were stained and dirty, the bathrooms were disgusting, most lights didn’t work, the AC didn’t work, and the screen door to my room was ripped off and held together with strips of packing tape. My parents’ room was worse than mine, even the chairs were filthy, and their tub was so visibly dirty you could see the anti slip pads that the previous occupant used for what appears to be weeks based on the accumulation of dead skin and dirt. I went back to Angela to ask for a refund and she told me there’s nothing she can do without her boss. I asked her for his information and she went to deliberate with other staff, including a man who was identified the next day as Stanley Gan, the manager. I did not hear the conversation but she comes back and gives me a business card to submit my grievance. Not knowing better, I took it and left. The card was her own, she just didn’t want to help me. To add insult to injury, she called me a b**** as soon as I turned my back. As we were clearing out, Stanley was walking in and out of a room next to my parents. There are doors adjoining all the rooms that can be locked, but it is not sound proof so you can hear every word the person in the next room is saying. I’m assuming he was listening to what we were up to. I went back the next morning after staying in another hotel and Stanley refused to see me. I contacted my bank, and I have also contacted Booking.com where I reserved the room from. I will be reporting to a few ministries and bureaus, as well as the Town of Parry Sound. DO NOT STAY HERE, IT IS NOT SAFE.…
