My husband and I enjoyed a little getaway and stayed at this Best Western. We were greeted and welcomed by a friendly concierge who took the time to ask us what we were interested in and picked us a nice room facing the bay. He explained there was a spa, sauna and jacuzzi He also took the time to talk about the walk way on the bay and some of the falls in the area.
We have stayed in this hotel several times in the past. We just returned again a few nights ago from a 2 night stay. I think considering how covid is affecting the entire hospitality sector, the hotel does its best to make their guests feel as comfortable as possible. When you walk in, there is hand sanitizer available at the door and by the front desk, as well as in many other spots in the hotel. There is plexiglass between you and the front desk staff and everyone wore a mask. They hand you a sheet of info, providing you with details about all they do to keep you safe, including the products they use to sanitize. The lobby was clean and our room was spotless. Any staff we met in the hotel, from the front desk staff to the maids, were friendly and professional. I have to compliment them on the mattresses. They were practically the most comfortable I have ever slept in at a hotel. My husband and I slept so soundly that I even asked the staff at the desk what the name of the mattress was. We are trying to buy a new one for our home and I am hoping to find the same mattress in our local stores. The size of the room is more than adequate. We asked for a quiet room and that is what the front desk rep found for us, room 208. There is a small fridge in the room, a pull out couch and a small coffee maker. A little tip- there is a Metro grocery store on the same street, about a minute walk from the hotel. If you need any items or drinks to put in the fridge, it is very convenient. This was my only complaint, that I found the inside of the fridge not as cold as I would have liked and there was no dial to change the setting. Without hesitation, I would return any time I am visiting the area.…
We love staying here as it is so close to just walk over to the Owen sound attack hockey games and a bonus the restaurant is amazing. The staff here are so friendly and accommodating as well as the view is spectacular right on the water.
$185 for one night was very overpriced for a room in the hotel with the spa facility that was closed because of a broken door, a room with no microwave, a front lobby washroom area that was smelly and a bathroom that needed a good cleaning. I have stayed in small, basic hotels in other areas that were pristine, had agreeable staff, complete amenities, that charged half to three quarters of the price I paid to the Owen Sound Best Western. Its restaurant was mediocre but I'd been warned about that. I have stayed at other Best Western properties that were very good with excellent amenities, were pristine and had very decent breakfast rooms included in the price that was much less than that of the Owen Sound property. It can be done
Having been scammed in the past when making on-line reservations, I decided to use the reservation service for the Best Western Hotels. I informed the reservation service that we needed a room to accommodate 2 small dogs. Based on our information we made the reservation for a "pet-friendly" room, and were given a quote for our stay in a "pet-friendly" room. When checking in, however, we were asked for an additional fee--$20--on top of the quote provided--because we needed to pay extra for "clean-up" after our dogs. Why were we not told about this "hidden fee" when booking the room. Of course, the blame was placed on us for not calling the hotel directly! Beware!
The check in staff were wonderful. We were offered complimentary water and chocolate. The room was spotless and very comfortable. The restaurant AMAZING! We had dinner and breakfast, and both were delicious.
I travel around Ontario for business and stay in many places, but Best Western Inn On The Bay is one of the best to stay at. The staff is always smiling and welcoming. It offers an amazing view, a gym, lounging area and even a mini-pool. Always recommend!
This hotel has excellent facilities. The room amenities are all of the highest order and qualiy. Professional and frindly staff . The best restaurant in the area, with the best locatioin and view of the Owen Sound inlet and lake. Siyuated in a quiet and scenic corner and still its just just 2 minutes drive form the downtown core.
Snowmobile right to their door! Appreciate being able to drive my sled on a trail right to the door. Very handy. We arrived late so didn't get to experience any of the amenities. Next time we'll try to arrive earlier.
Great location by the lake and across from OHL arena, easy to catch an Owen Sound Attack game. Resturant is nice with a wonderful view. Staff are every friendly and helpful. Fitness center, sauna and whirlpool are setup well. Overall a very Comfortable stay.
