Early June '04, 1 night, room on 1st floor, garden side, two queen beds, rate C$70 (+ tax), free parking, breakfast (toast + coffee) until 11 a.m., checkout 11 a.m.
Recently completely renovated and refurbished (new proud and very nice owner); all rooms have fridge and microwave -- very helpful if you would like to skip a restaurant dinner and save some money. If you prefer to dine out, ask the owner for recommendations; you will get a discount at several restaurants when you show your room key. The garden is pretty to look at and has a lovely bench with flowers growing around, which was recommended by the owner as a breakfast picnic spot.

Our overall experience was great. The staff was helpful and knowledgeable and went out of there way to make sure we had a relaxing stay, the rooms were clean...great view from the top floor front balconys...especially in the summer. I don't mind paying a little extra (not too much) for a great experience. We received a discount at the local East Side Marios just for staying there. I highly recommend the Owen Sound Inn for anyone.

I hate to go against so many positive reviews but it was just OK. Location was good, staff was super nice and helpful. But the room just wasn't very good. A little worn but not unacceptable worn. I liked the access to outside as well. But on a night where maybe a half dozen rooms were taken, I was put in a room where the balcony door (ground floor) was broken, didn't lock and had a metal bar or brromstick type contraption holding it shut. The furniture, bedsheets, etc.. were a little old and damaged.
The owners were super nice and made me a decent bagel. The room cost close to nothing. But I wasn't too comfortable. I'd try another hotel if I'm ever back in Owen Sound even if I had to pay a bit more. If on a budget, this place probably can't be beat.

The owner of this hotel is extremely rude. He has some interesting quirky rules such as do not mess both beds if you are the only person in the room. He likes to spy on guests and treat them like children scolding them for any wrongdoing however small. Generally I am a very passive guest but I cannot tolerate the owner of the hotel treating me like a child rather than a paying guest.

Bavish and his family were wonderful, so welcoming, attentive and very helpful. They treat their customers like family, the rooms were so clean and very nice. Donna their cleaning lady was always checking in every morning seeing if I needed clean linen, towels and coffee or my room cleaned. They have a beautiful back yard with bbqs and seating and even a look out were I spent many nights and mornings watching sunsets and the sunrise. So peaceful, you can tell they are always working as a team effort and take pride in the business and keeping customers happy. I even had family come stay in the area and they loved it. I will recommend the Owen Sound inn to any family or friends or people up for vacation looking somewhere nice and quaint to stay. 5 stars in my books for sure, prices are very reasonable as well. thank you , guys again for my lovely stay!

This motel owner is terribly unnmannered and just gave the hardest time trying to book. Reading many other reviews on here and having my first impressions (I also stopped by in person while staying somewhere else) and he is extremely rude. And other reviews sound as though he harrasses people during their stay.
Not recommended. As with me, you should give your money to a better business. I've just booked somewhere else in Owen Sound! Phew

My wife spoke with a super nice gentleman when she recently booked this motel over the phone. When our family arrived we were pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and comfort of the room. It was well furnished with two queen beds, a desk and chair, microwave, large fridge, chest of drawers, and tv. The bathroom was clean and quite large. The beds were clean, very comfortable and we all had a good night's sleep. Our room was at ground level so it was easy to unload our luggage. The rooms on the second floor each had a private balcony. Honestly, as far as roadside motels go, this place deserves top marks. We will definitely stay here again on our next trip through Owen Sound.

The staff at Owen Sound Inn are super friendly. They are in the middle of renovations and from what I saw the renovations of the bathrooms is a total upgrade and amazing work being done by the gentlemen doing the work. The rooms are a good size with everything you could need. It was quiet and whether looking out a front or back balcony, the view was so amazing. I will definitely be back in the warmer weather to explore more and stay at Owen Sound Inn. Thanks for an awesome stay and amazing visit

Bad experience here. Avoid this place, and spend the extra few bucks up the street for a good motel where you will have some privacy and be treated like a grown up (not a child.) Owner has some very unusual eccentricities which you will discover for yourself should you ever make the mistake and attempt to stay here. Rude, spies on guests, and looks for ways to make more money...then throws you out. If I could rate this as a zero I would. Overall ratings are misleading, as they are from the previous owner.

A real primo deal! Yogi is awesome and this place terrific and comfortable. One of Owen Sound's great jewels. I most highly recommend this place and am recommending it to all my friends as the first option for when they are in this area.

Not true....have reviewed others
Look less at the rates and more at the negative reviews. Most negative reviews are provided my TripAdvisor alum with many different reviews. You will find almost all of the 5 star reviews are given by what appear to be people who have only ever reviewed this location. They have posted one review and it was for here and it is glowing and rates 5 start whereas almost no other guest with more than 5 reviews under their belt has given it more than a 3.
