Very clean and well equipped. Great breakfast options. Hosts are friendly, knowledgeable and support the local Group of Seven hiking trail project! We didn’t need it but looks like there is a charger for electric cars. Lots of parking too.

This was our first B & B experience and what a great place! The view from our room was beautiful and the owner, Chris was great. So hospitable and friendly. Loved the room and the breakfast was great. I would recommend this B & B for anyone traveling through this area. Sure beats a hotel chain!

We were very satisfied with our recent two night stay at the Lakeview Manor. This was one of our stops on our day hiking trip across the north shore of Lake Superior this September. This B&B is located on a quiet street overlooking the bay. It is within about a 10 minute walk of the restaurants in the downtown area.

We had reserved Room #1 on the second floor which had a lovely view overlooking the bay. It was huge room with very comfortable queen size bed, separate ensuite and sitting area. Everything was kept extremely clean. On the first floor was a large common area area for guests. Guests also had access to a fridge in the dining area for storage of personal beverages, food and ice packs.

Christina, the B&B owner, was very personable. We enjoyed each of the wonderful breakfasts that she prepared for us. She was quite knowledgeable about the region and provided all the information we required on the area including best choices for restaurants and some of the lesser known local attractions. She even gave us a map/brochure for Pukaswa National Park which was our focus for hiking on one of the days of our stay. One nice touch is that she provides access to complimentary wine for the guests later each day.

We also enjoyed the interaction with Lightening the long term resident dog. A resident cat also wandered the house.

The accommodation options in Marathon are fairly limited and we look forward to again staying at the Lakeview Manor during our return hiking trip to Lake Superior in a few years.

I had a lovely stay at Lakeview recently. Chris is so warm and welcoming. The home is very cozy and you're made to feel like you belong. You don't feel like a guest, you really do feel like part of the family. Lightening the dog is adorable and would wander up to my room from time to time and say hello, the cat would do the same.
Breakfast was very good. All homemade. I had some delicious yogurt and a big waffle. It was so nice.
I will definitely be staying a Lakeview manor whenever I am in Marathon. I'm so happy there is such a wonderful place to stay while there.

Charming Victorian style hose. Spacious, very comfortable bedrooms. If you plan to stay there, book early to get the suite, quite inexpensive; the best value for the money.
The view from bedrooms and living room (with a huge panoramic window) is breathtaking.
The lady of the hose is as charming as the house. She will serve you a gourmet breakfast according to your order. Such a top notch food i had only in $500 a night hotels.
Internet connection is strong and fast.

i use to stay by the HWY 17 in Travelodge , but it is more pricey, no breakfast included in the price and much worse quality. Also I had problems with internet in there.

Stayed 1 night during recent Lake Superior Circle Tour trip. Like coming home. This was a nice break from the regular hotels we stayed in during rest of trip. Excellent breakfast in the morning with other guests. Great conversation. A varied group. Would highly recommend. Keep in mind that there are some tradeoffs with B&B vs Hotels. If you are the shy type, might be better at a hotel.

This is a pleasant property, perfectly arranged for the comfort of guests. We had a comfortable bed, good reading lights, a reading chair, tv, VCR....you get the picture. A great deal of thought about the comfort and needs of guests was in evidence. Bed and Breakfasts are so hit and miss. This one was definitely a hit.

My husband and I recently spent a night at Lakeview Manor in Marathon on our way across Canada. We had a stressful, long day's drive and arrived exhausted! Our energy perked right up once we saw this beautiful gem of a B&B with it's view of Lake Superior. The sun was setting, and it was a stunning view. Our room was incredible (room #1) huge, clean....decorated perfectly! I loved the bed! (and not just because I was tired, but it was extremely comfortable with lovely linens) Our hostess Chris was a wonderful, friendly lady.....the breakfast was delicious and filling. We've known a number of people who have had to stop on their way to Thunder Bay---and we will suggest from now on...they should consider Lakeview! Why stop at a no name highway motel, when this beautiful, inviting location is nearby!! If and when we make this trip again....we WILL return to Lakeview Manor. (and thanks again for the wine!)

This was our second stay at Lakeview Manor, and we were just as pleased with our accommodations and breakfasts as we were 5 years ago!!

The beds are so comfortable, and it is so quiet at night that you can hear the virtual pin drop! The bathrooms are immaculately clean, and I don't think I've ever seen such white towels in my life! The sunset over Lake Superior is just too beautiful for words.

Breakfast was homemade blueberry pancakes, ham and the best coffee I've ever tasted!! The host told me it was plain old President's Choice coffee - but maybe it's the clear northern water used to make it - but it was very tasty!

Come stay at Lakeview Manor B&B and you'll want to come back!! We're hoping it will be less than 5 years for our next visit!

I come to Marathon for work once or twice a year and always stay at Lakeview Manor. This is just like home to me. The hosts are so nice and warm and the rooms are immaculate. There is a large open kitchen for guests to help themselves to continental breakfast, and spacious rooms. I always book well in advance as this B&B is usually sold out. Room 1 is a suite and well worth the money. I recommend Lakeview Manor to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay with kind hospitality. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Marathon.

We paid $135 for double occupancy in a room with private bathroom. They do have rates as low as $115 with a shared bathroom.
