Very clean and well equipped. Great breakfast options. Hosts are friendly, knowledgeable and support the local Group of Seven hiking trail project! We didn’t need it but looks like there is a charger for electric cars. Lots of parking too.
A wonderfully warm home and Christina was accommodating and a wealth of knowledge about the local area. My room was spacious and spotless with a really comfortable bed, and a delicious home made breakfast. The home is perched on a hill overlooking the bay, in a remote and beautiful part of the world.
Our first trip to Marathon was so welcoming because of this wonderful work family of people. I recommend the suites(1&3) they were both cozy. The rooms are cute with great views, appear a little rustic. The food was wonderful and a great way to start our day. Everything is labelled and easy to find. So many kinds of cereal. The whole crew there are so helpful if you have any questions or need anything. Even the dog was friendly! The area is quiet and comforting. They also have a fridge and microwave for guest use which was greatly appreciated. Definitely will go back.
I come to Marathon for work once or twice a year and always stay at Lakeview Manor. This is just like home to me. The hosts are so nice and warm and the rooms are immaculate. There is a large open kitchen for guests to help themselves to continental breakfast, and spacious rooms. I always book well in advance as this B&B is usually sold out. Room 1 is a suite and well worth the money. I recommend Lakeview Manor to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay with kind hospitality. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Marathon.
A quite magnificent B&B. Felt like home from minute 1. Not the cheapest place in Marathon, but you get what you pay for, and everything here was excellent. Will go again when I redo the Trans Canada Highway trip in a car with family.
The room was lovely and would have yielded a much higher rating, however the hosts were so unfriendly that I can’t give more than 2 stars. When we went to the room where breakfast was offered, there was a complete absence of hospitality, to the point of rudeness. We will not visit again.
This charming, antique-filled home just may be the finest lodging along the beautiful, remote stretch of Lake Superior between Thunder Bay and Michigan. The hosts are friendly and helpful, and the continental breakfast was a nice touch. There are two house policies that some travelers will find charming, and others irksome. One, no shoes in the house (although the hosts seem to wear theirs). And two, guests get no exterior key and the house is locked around 10. So if you want to linger over the summer sunset or have a late dinner, you've been warned!
We stayed here in early July on our way around Lake Superior for the Circle Tour. Unfortunately for us, it was the only bad weather day of our journey -- it was so foggy that we couldn't see the lovely view out of the huge living room window when we arrived! Our room (one of two with ensuite bath) faced the backyard, but there was a lovely sitting area facing the lake on the second floor that no one else used during our stay, so that's where we spent a fair amount of time. Overall we were more than pleased with our stay -- the room was beautiful and spotlessly clean, the bed was comfortable, the hosts gracious, and the breakfast more than adequate to start our day. Be sure to visit Pebble Beach while you're here. (Actually those "pebbles" are about the size of bowling balls, so wear sturdy hiking shoes or boots.)…
We traveled via motorcycles and were delighted with the warm welcome, great parking, warm welcome, spacious living area and over the top hospitality. Loved the room, loved the view and being able to walk to town for supper. Would highly recommend this place to anyone.
This property has comfortable rooms and very friendly home owners with a nice dog. All our needs were met and they were flexible with our reservation. Lots of little extras that make this residence a great place to stay. Breakfast was really good with lots of choices and it is self serve. Wonderful owners and staff and we will be back again.
