I just completed my 3rd stay yesterday in the past couple of months at this beautiful property. It is now my hotel of choice when I visit Kitchener.
All staff are very friendly and helpful during my entire stay including Lyndon, Marg, Janet, Sergio, Felix and Jasna.
There are others but I couldn't remember all the times. Lyndon, if my LBJ ( Lyndon Baines Johnson) jokes get tiresome please let me know.
I arrived in Kitchener on Saturday without making a reservation and upon my arrival they were sold out. ( It was Canada Day weekend).
Sergio, Jasna and Felix asked me to take a seat and they would do their best to see if a room could be made available and " voila " a room was found after not too long.
I enjoyed the delicious Doubletree Chocolate Chip Cookies. ( very popular with other guests as well)
The room as always is very well appointed with full amenities and toiletries, good quality TV, mini-fridge, mini-safe, a desk to eat and do work, good quality mattress, very clean room. My room had a microwave oven but unsure if this is standard I each room. Great free wifi.
I had a very restful sleep. I was accommodated early checkin/ late checkout and no extra charge Parking is free
Staff is super friendly with great sense of humour and I enjoyed interacting with them .
There is a very pleasant atmosphere in this hotel and I notice other guests with smiles on their faces enjoying the ambience.
I enjoyed the breakfast buffet and also had dinner. As a Hilton Honors Diamond member breakfast was complimentary but for those who are not I believe the charge is quite reasonable
The fitness room was perfectly adequate with a couple of cardio machines as well as a set of dumbells, benches and other equipment. For those who need a full service gym there are several closeby. There is a pool although I didn't use.
There is a large shopping mall within walking distance as well as other restaurants etc.

Our stay was for 4 nights. Receptionist very friendly and accommodating. Warm cookie on checkin was a nice touch. Room clean and average size. Room decor updated. Bed comfortable. We decided not to have housekeeping in our room, instead we asked for fresh towels daily from reception. I chose a room to accommodate my two dogs, very happy this hotel allows dogs with a $50 added cost(which is small price to pay to have your fur babies with you.) Pool was good size and clean pool area. Must reserve time slot to use pool. Weight room nice but didn’t use. Parking lot extremely inconvenient under construction, beware of large party’s on weekends very difficult to find parking. Location great many restaurants across street and gas station as well. Restaurant at hotel wasn’t open during our stay, would’ve liked to have had a bite and drink at hotel. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

The pool was freezing cold, I was not able to get in the water. There is not ice on the floors, you have to be on a certain floor for ice machine. Any bottles water or coffee or fruits (apples) are provided and all cost money the cups of coffee were $5 each.

The housekeeping efforts were very poor. Our bathroom had not been cleaned properly. There was old toothpaste on the counter, other people's hair on the floor and a lot of dust on the bottom shelf of the vanity. The light fixture between the beds contained 3 burnt out bulbs and the rest of the bulbs flashed on and off. The rest of the room looked like it had been cleaned in 5 minutes with streaked mirrors, crooked lampshades, etc. When we used the pool, we got covered in a nasty smelling, sticky grease which had been dripped on the pool deck. It took a lot of scrubbing with soapy water to get it off our hands.
I expected a lot better from a member of the Hilton family of hotels.

What makes this hotel special are the people, from the very helpful people at the front desk to the welcoming staff in the dining room. The rooms are well equipped with large TVs and small but functional fridges. They are not cleaned every day for a multi-day stay, but will be done on request. Located near a busy highway, rooms are quite quiet, but don't expect a great scenic view. The dining room offers great breakfast buffet, a limited but very tasty and well-prepared menu for lunch and dinner (but not on Sunday evening.) S[pecial nods to Janet and Edgardo in the dining room as well as the front desk staff.

The room was filthy, hair was on the dresser and toilet but the worst was the make up smeared on the headboard. There was a musky oder in the room as well. When I complained to the front desk manager, they refused to refund our stay. We had spent a total five minutes in the room immediately after checking in but they refused to refund due to us booking with a third party online. Avoid this place!

My 3 night stay was very relaxing, no problems with anything at this location.
The rooms were cleaned to C19 protocol, and I was able to ask housekeeping for fresh towels and coffee when they were on the floor.
Nice breakfast grab bag, either veggie or meat, as well as water, a yogurt, an apple, a granola bar, and a muffin.
Great place to stay in Kitchener/Waterloo.

We checked into our room and immediately found hairs in the shower and sink. Our bed had ladies mascara smeared on the headboard and the room bad a mildew type smell. We left within 5 minutes of checking in and the front desk manager refused to refund our money. He stated that it was because we booked with a third party, Expedia, as the reason why he is refusing to refund our money. I will be complaining to corporate as well, this place its unacceptable and unhygienic.

Stayed one night at the DoubleTree by Hilton - Kitchener. A very nice clean updated room. This was our first stay at a DoubleTree in awhile and it was nice to see room carpets removed and replaced by flooring. Great location in south Kitchener close to the 401, Fairview Park Mall and lots of restaurants/big box stores. We had dinner in the hotel with a very reasonably priced menu, excellent service and great food. We will stay again!
