As we are staying in Toronto for a month with our son, we decided to spend a couple of days at St Jacobs , the village and the area around was fab,as was the farmers market and the antique barns, The Fredrick Inn looked good on the web sight so we booked a couple of nights. We were not disappointed,it...

I have always stayed at a hotel when I am in Kitchener for business. The hotel I wanted to stay in was booked and by chance I found the Frederick Street Inn due to its close proximity to downtown Kitchener. What a delight! My room was very comfortable and I had a refreshing nights sleep. There is so much charm...

There is warmth and charm all wrapped in a good downtown location and history. I really appreciated the drop off at the train station, a very comfortable bed, air conditioning and having breakfast with the rest of the visitors. The common room allowed me to be up early, make a coffee and sit on the front steps to enjoy the...

On January 1st we dropped our son off in Waterloo. I wanted to spend a night in a cozy place with my husband because if you are a Mom (or Dad) saying goodbye to your child for the first time when they leave home it is very hard. I just was not in the mood for a cold hotel and...

Hi Diane, What can I say in response to such lovely feedback? It was such a delight to have you stay with us. Next time, we have to feed you better...and I am sure that you will be feeling better about your son's recent independence and up for a B&B breakfast. Harald and I look forward to it. Amanda

We stayed at the Inn on Christmas Day 2015. It's a lovely old building with incredible staff. We were met on arrival by Amanda and Harold the owners. We were given the quick tour and enjoyed very much. I found the bed very comfortable and I slept like a log. I would recommend staying here to anyone that's visiting Kitchener.

Funny that a 150 year old inn should be better than many hotels a tenth that age, but it's true. Centrally located and lovely in every way, it's a very pleasant place to stay a night or two. There's only one old hotel like this I've stayed in – at Charlottetown ¬– which was more charming. Everything is in great...

Hi Coin, I am so happy that you enjoyed your stay. I agree with you about the old house (of course I am biased!) If they are kept up they offer so much more than concrete ever can. lol Thanks for the tip on the light. Harald and I have actually talked about that several time. It would have to...

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Frederick Street Inn in the Baird Suite with the King sized bed and private bath. It was a short walk to downtown Kitchener and plenty of parking in back. I was travelling for business and made good use of the WiFi while there. The room had a nice desk. Breakfast of fruit and...

Chose this B&B for its positive reviews and architecture. Lovely older home in a central location in Kitchener. Breakfasts were ok. This place has a very nice front covered front porch to sit and have your coffee and watch the world go by. If I had 1 complaint, it would be that we couldn't seem to control the room temperature...

Yes, we are on the old boiler system, so the rooms upstairs do not have their own thermostat. I have put an electric heart in the Baird room to help with the fluctuations of heat/cold as the season is changing. Thanks for your comments. Amanda

We chose this B&B for Oktoberfest because it was within walking distance of the festivities, but we would come back any time, no matter what the occasion, charming, clean, friendly, and great breakfasts (the coffee was excellent)!

We stayed only for one night at Harald & Amanda's place, but would definitely come back anytime! The house is just lovely, the rooms clean and beautifully decorated and we were very kindly looked after. The additional services (coffee, tee, snacks) were also great, as well as the delicious homemade breakfast! Highly recommended!
