If you want to treat yourself to a little get away, this is the place to stay!! I feel absolutely spoiled when I stay there!! The staff are friendly, professional and greet you with a smile. The view is lovely and on a quiet night you can hear the waves. As a Bruce county girl I also think it is very important to support a local business rather than giving my patronage to one of the big chains. It was hard to leave this morning!!! Maureen, Ottawa

Hotel's Favourite
The Inn at the Harbour is a wonderful hotel that has a very friendly atmosphere, super clean, modern rooms and close to restaurants and attractions. The staff are very welcoming and assures all your needs are met. The hotel is extremely well maintained with nicely appointed rooms and very comfortable beds. The complimentary breakfast has a variety of selections that includes juice, coffee, tea cereal, bagels, muffins, fruit and yogurt. There is a comfortable sitting area to eat your breakfast in the lobby area or take your breakfast to your room to enjoy. All rooms have a lovely view of the lake and Harbour. The balcony provides an even better view and is comfortable to sit out when the weather is pleasant. The hotel grounds and area are well maintained and have lovely flowers, shrubs and flower pots The rooms have a small refrigerator, coffee maker, modern and clean bathroom with complimentary soap, shampoo, cream, shower cap and other necessities. The hotel is within walking distance to shops, restaurants, Harbour, beach and the lighthouse. We have stayed at the Inn at the Harbour many times over the past seven years. We highly recommend this hotel and will continue to stay there in the future. The Inn at the Harbour makes your stay in Kincardine very enjoyable!

My husband and son accompanied me on a work event. Within an hour of me checking in to our one bedroom king suite I called to have pillows and a cover brought up for the pull out sofa in the room. I was accused by the manager that the pull out sofa was locked. I was confused. I never heard of a bed being locked with a chain. I advised the manager that the bed was not locked and that I was able to pull it out with ease. He advised the room could not accommodate three people. I advised him that it was a King bed with a pull out sofa. He advised me again that no sofa bed was in the room. I had to advise him that their is a sofa bed. We went back an forth until he admitted that there was a sofa bed but it was locked. I then had to convince him that the bed was not locked with a chain. This was so fustrating. I could not believe the intaction I had with the manager. I travel for a living and this was the worst experience I have ever, ever had. I was told I had to pay extra for my son or book another room for my my 16 year old to stay in. I immediately brought to the Managers attention that he is 16 and how can he stay in a room by himself under the age of 18 years old. which is clearly stipulated on their website. I was so taken back by the mannerism and conduct of the manager that I asked if I could get a refund as I was feeling uncomfortable with how he was interacting with me. I repeatedly advise him that I was feeling uncomfortable. I was tired after having been up so early and having driven three hours I and my family were tired and just wanted eat and rest. The Managers conduct was unacceptable, unprofessional. I felt targeted being a women of visible minority. My family did not sleep well after the encounter. We left in the morning and will never ever stay at the Hotel again. I asked that the Owner call me. I never received a call. A guest staying at the hotel advised me to speak to the owner after over hearing the the way my family and I were treated. I know the Owner was told to contact me because the note was put on my account. I have yet to hear a response.

Lovely family run cosy hotel where we were warmly welcomed at check in. The rooms must have been recently renovated, are nicely appointed, spacious and the balconies have a gret view of Lake Huron, the marina and the light house. The rooms are absolutely spotless. A continental breakfast is included in the rate. The location is a a short walk to the main shopping area and several restaurants. Will definitely return!

Stayed for 3 nights at the end of August. By far the best place to stay in Kincardine. Fabulous location, close to everything so you can walk everywhere. The Inn itself it pretty and welcoming. The staff were fabulous and beyond accommodating. We stayed in their largest suite on the top floor with a small private balcony. Included a sitting room with tv and fireplace, sleeping area with king size bed and tv, kitchen area with sink, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker and hot plate. It also has cupboards and drawers with everything you need to prepare a meal. The bathroom was huge and well appointed with double sinks, soaking tub and large shower. We plan on visiting again next summer!

We stayed in a suite with a private balcony. Worth every penny. This place is very clean and well run. My only complaint was how warm our suite was. Asked for a fan and one was delivered right away. The business suite is like a 1 bedroom apartment. Full fridge, sink, microwave, Keurig coffee maker and hot plate. Dishes, cups, mugs and silverware included. There is even a dishwasher. A nice sitting room with television and fireplace, king bedroom with television and one of the best bathrooms we have seen. It also has a tv and is huge. I highly recommend Inn on the Harbour. We will be back.

The hotel location is great but my stay was spoiled by interaction with staff. On the first day I asked about gluten-free bread and learned that it was in the unmarked fridge in the common area. On the second day, I went to get it and the staff member on duty rudely asked "Can I help you?" and ripped the door from my hand to slam it shut. I was astounded at his behavior. I travel for business and have visited over 20 countries with hundreds of hotel stays. I can't remember a staff member being this rude, and certainly never had a physical altercation with an employee at any facility. My stay was ruined, with me thinking of little else while I was on the property. But the owners should be pleased. I never once touched the gluten-free bread after that!

Stayed here as part of a bridal party. Rooms were spacious and clean. Staff went out of their way to accommodate us. A 5 star experience from start to finish. If the weather is good, book a room with a balcony. Easy walk to both the waterfront and a pretty downtown area.

I found this hotel by accident when I was randomly looking for somewhere to stay for a mini getaway. And I struck gold the day before we planned to go. We loved everything about this hotel. It was likely one of the coldest weekends. But that didn’t stop me from sitting out on the deck/balcony. While we were in full view of the lake, that view sometimes was obstructed by the snow; so bad they were closing the roads, but obviously no fault of the hotel. I imagine in better weather, the view is spectacular most of the time. This hotel is a gem. All rooms have water views. There are muskoka chairs on the balconies to relax on while you enjoy the view. We were on the third floor in a lovely room. It may have been the time of year but the hotel was very quiet. There were other guests but we barely saw or heard anyone. The bed was comfy. The room was clean and had little extras like a wet bar and microwave and a Keurig coffee maker. The pressure of the water in the shower was unlike a lot of hotels. Often there isn’t much of a water trickle/spray but these showers were wonderful and the bathroom was so nice. The free breakfast blew me away. I expected some toast and dry cereal and not a lot more. This breakfast had so much food, so much variety. There is a small seating area you can eat in but you could also take the food to your room. All of the staff we had any connection with were wonderful. Friendly, accommodating and helpful. The hotel is in prime location. A couple minutes walk to the beach in one direction. A couple minutes walk to the downtown in the other. Kincardine is one of the typical small towns that have such character and the stores downtown are not your usual chain stores. I am so glad that I stumbled onto this property online. Our recent visit won’t be our last visit. We are planning to come up in the summer and bring family.
