Detailed Reviews
Booked a twin queen room 'cuz I'm a restless sleeper. On check-in was upgraded to a King SUITE. I figured I might be able to work it out, but on entering the room, found it hadn't been cleaned. Went back to front desk and was able to get the room type I'd booked. Rooms are nicely appointed with FULL-size fridge, two burner cooktop, utensils for a kitchen. Breakfast was a bagged affair due COVID and no kitchen staff. Muffins, bagel, apple and yogurt.

We have stayed at Marriott Hotels around the world and this one in Kincardine did not rate too well in comparison with the others. As someone else mentioned, they have a problem with sea gulls crapping all over parked cars, bedroom windows and the Patio area in front of the Hotel where guests can bbq. The tables and chairs were all covered in bird feces so it doesn’t look too inviting. The breakfast was disappointing, we were only given a bag with a small box of cereal, a bottle of water, one piece of fruit and a small yogurt. There was no tea or coffee except from the machine in the room. As a comparison, at the Holiday Inn across the parking lot we were given a full Hot Breakfast with Bagels, Muffins, Tea, Coffee and Juice.

Kincardine is an amazing destination.
The Marriott in Kincardine was a nice stay. I wouldn’t say the staff service was the greats though.
Pros : The rooms had a mini kitchen setup which would be helpful for long- term guests. They serve breakfast in the morning. The pool and gym are convenient.
Cons: Breakfast was not the greatest (I did not expect it to be the best) kitchen ran out of some food. The front desk a disorganized they charged my card twice and didn’t tell me. So I had to call to ask for a refund. It was also a hassle to get the room keys. They stopped working mid trip. When we tried to open the room door it didn’t work.

We booked two nights in this hotel to spend the weekend in Kincardine and take advantage of beautiful beaches nearby. The room and the kitchenette were clean.
However the pool was closed and the hotel did not offer Breakfast but they advertised it when I booked the room . Non of those facts appeared on their websites. No compensation for the breakfast they did not offer.
Few times I called reception or housekeeping, nobody picked up the phone. I had to call few times for someone to answer.
When I asked for extra pillows and blankets, the staff at the resepton said she doesn't have extra pillow( !) and asked me to go down and take the blankets!
The next day the housekeeping simply did not show up. After I called many times,
( needed towels and empty garbage cans) finally they came at 6.30 pm.
Obviously the hotel is understaffed.

We stayed here for 5 nights at the end of September 2020. Check-in was smooth and all staff wore masks & were pleasant. The room (2 queen beds & kitchenette) was spacious, new, clean. Nice armchair & lamp, dinner table for four. Good sized TV with cable and Netflix (need to have your own account). Free WiFi.
Kitchenette was well supplied (3 pans, cutlery, cooking utensils, bowls, strainer, can opener) and had a microwave, coffee maker, toaster & induction surface with 2 rings (took some figuring out, VERY fast), fridge/freezer, and dishwasher. Knives needed sharpening. Nice storage for clothes (drawers & wardrobe). Good sized clean bathroom with full bath, shower and good lighting.
The bonus was that it’s located ~ 100 m from a large Sobeys supermarket so it’s easy to pick up food to cook. Also near a gas station, Tim Horton’s & Boston Pizza. Reasonable gym, smallish pool (both can be booked for 1 hour for a single person/group given Covid restrictions).
Hotel breakfast is “grab & go” due to Covid - bagel/English muffin, muffins, yogurt, fruit, fried egg, burger. Located at the edge of town, seems quite new.

I booked 2 rooms for my family and checked in 2 hours before our arrival online through the Bonvoy app. We arrived at 8:30pm on a Friday night (with young kids) only to be told that none of our rooms were ready (at 8:30pm, really???). The hotel said It would still be 30 to 45 minutes before one (of our 2 rooms) would be ready. We finally got 1 room at 9:30 and we were told that they would call us when our other room was ready (in about 20 minutes). 50 minutes later, and not having received a call from the front desk and trying to call the front desk with no answer I decided to go down and speak to them directly. After waiting another 10 minutes for them to check in other guests i was informed that our 2nd room was ready. I also asked for towels as our 1st room did not have any. The front desk said they would send some up right away. At 11:30pm (an hour later) no towels had arrived and again I tried calling the front desk only to have them not answer (I tried calling 2 more times with no answer). I chose this hotel because it was part of Marriott, but I guest that means nothing. Can't see myself staying at another Marriott for a long time.

Absolutely disgusting. Checked in at 3pm and told our room isn't ready. Then checked into a dirty room. Food on floor, ants on counter and black mold in bathroom. We stayed for 6 days and the room was suppose to be cleaned every other day. Our phone did not work in our room so we had to go directly to the front desk with any issues. After 3 days of no cleaning, we complained and were told our room would be cleaned the following day and then blamed saying that we had put up the do not disturb sign. Told the front desk that there was no sign placed on the door. We expected to return from our excursions to a freshly cleaned ròom, we were wrong. Beds were not turned down, floors were not cleaned. The only thing house keeping did was remove the 4 days of garage and took away all of our towels and left us no towels! We had to go down to the front desk and complain again. Told the front staff we have no towels and need some asap. We were told they would bring them up to our room. An hour later at 9pm we had to go down again to the front desk asking for our towels. We were offered another room instead.
Told manger we are not packing up all of our stuff and moving to another room. We just want clean towels so we can shower and relax.
Breakfast was a joke. No juice, butter, ketchup, or muffins. No fruit for the first 2 days and then offered extremely over ripened bananas that were so soft to the point of almost being mushy. Cold eggs and watered down coffee.
Staff was rude and seemed to try and avoid customers and were annoyed that we had to constantly come down and ask for supplies such as towels and toilet paper.
Then there was all of the bird poop. I understand they cannot control the seagulls but they should at least clean their walkway so you don't have to step over and around bird poop. The patio outside is full of bird poop and our vehicle along with other cars were covered in bird poop. Perhaps offering a complimentary car wash would be a kind offer to their guests.
We will NEVER stay here again.

During our stay, we noticed this hotel is not up to the Marriott standard.
Food
Breakfast food was dry, and not replenished 1 hour into service (when inquired, staff simply said items had "run out", only to bring them later when we requested, as many main items were over, such as beans, sausages, hashbrowns, omelets...). None of the kitchen staff were wearing uniforms or hair nets.
Reception
I mentioned to staff that none of the guest bathrooms downstairs had soap, and after days, they were still empty. Staff didn't offer any suggestions about activities in town, nor did they ask about our stay, it was all very cold. We were also charged a deposit that was above the full value of our reservation, which they didn't inform us of, they just swiped the card. We had sufficient credit, but normally, this is not how deposits go.
Housekeeping
One night we returned to an unkept room, so we called to ask for towels. We waited for 40 minutes and nothing. So we went downstairs to ask for towels. They were surprised we didn't have them and we explained the room hadn't been cleaned. The manager gave us towels and asked the cleaning lady why she didn't clean our room, to which she replied she knocked and we told her our baby was sleeping (a lie - we were out the whole day). So, the manager said the housekeeper would be up to clean the room after we left, in about 30 minutes. So, about 5 minutes after this interaction, and the housekeeper knocked on our door and proceeded to question why we were complaining (when we just went to ask for towels), and what we wanted her to do. She was extremely confrontational and told us that she knocked, but nobody answered so she left, because she didn't want to "disturb us" (we did NOT put a do not disturb sign out).
Overall, a very strange stay. Expensive for the quality of service, bizarre treatment, bad food and tired rooms, far away from everything in town. I'd rather pay the same and stay at the Inn downtown, by the harbor.
We will not be returning.

I have stayed in this chain of hotels before and the reason why i specifically picked this one while passing through Kincardine.
We found a vape pipe lying next to the bed which tells me that the room wasn't thoroughly vacuumed, if at all.
The fitted sheet had dried on crusty food on it, the mold in the shower was something you'd maybe expect to see at a resort in a third world country, the tub surround and glass had soap scum residue and the air conditioner blew humid stale air at best. We were sweating in the sheets and it felt like we were breathing a smelly mist.
I was so disappointed in this hotel room 208. If you’ve ever been to this chain and saw how beautifully clean and fresh smelling the rooms were, don’t expect that in this city.
We were famished and were told all the great restaurants were on Queen St. I wanted to visit the “ Hawgs Breath restaurant. It was closed indefinitely. We then went to the Bruce where there looked to be a 20 minute lineup. We ventured away from Queen St and still couldn't find anything.
Back to Queen St we went and decided on “Locals restaurant”. We went inside to avoid the flies and humidity outside. After being seated we noticed that the air wasn't working and the door was propped wide open. The two table next to us INSIDE, were covered in flies. We ordered a coke and a water and decided not to order or stay.
My husband asked for the bill for his coke. It was almost $5 in a sub par restaurant. We ended up going to Sobeys, getting cans of soup and heating it in our room. Ugh.

Stayed as a platinum guest, was upgraded to a larger room. Hotel is next to a Sobeys and you can make your meals with a nice kitchenette and the hotel is 7 mins from the beach. The hotel has a pool and complimentary breakfast as well. Great stay in Kincardine which also allowed us to see Goderich and Sauble Beach
