We’ve been going to Ash Rapids for many years but it’s been a few years because of Covid…our trip this year was fantastic from the quality of the boats to the gourmet meals…throw in some of the best fishing we’ve ever had and it was a winner for sure.
Tannis and Andrew were great hosts as usual and the servers in the restaurant were super…they just couldn’t do enough for us.
It is a real first class operation and we will continue to return as we have for the past 25 years…Kevin Fee..Bonita Springs Florida

We boated here for a meal. We were very impressed. Friendly owners and employees. Very good food and atmosphere. It helped that it was a beautiful summer evening. One of the touches that really impressed me was that there was an attendant to welcome us at the dock. He even tied our boat on for us. Service above and beyond. We will be back.

We had a first class dinner at Ash Rapids Lodge this week. We had a party of 8. The service was excellent and the food fabulous. Bread at the start was freshly baked and seemed to be a sour dough. The shore lunch pickerel was presented with a light coating and delicious. The back ribs were delicious and a generous serving shared by two young girls. We are inside but there is an expanded deck with a roof for those who wish to eat outside.

Waiting MONTHS for refund of a deposit owed due to border closing. We are from US and Canada closed border so it became impossible to go. Owner initially told us our deposit was "on the way". Now months without receiving, Lied to by owner and have been very patient waiting for "check is in mail" claims by the owner since Jul 10th. (It's now Aug 15th).
Seems like a nice place but not sure financial health. They would not take a credit card as a deposit....which seemed strange. Only a check. Now my money seems gone. We have been more than patient and friendly.
Today owner screamed at me and swore profusely at me, and stated "You have no right to that money....it's a deposit". Huh ? Truth seems to be different than we were told.
Seems like a nice lodge.....Just be careful is all.

July visit, 3 adult males, Cabin 5 ( redone with decently appointed kitchen expansion and can sleep 4 ) and 3 days of local guiding by Shane. That is 3 days of the best Shore lunch ( double dipped onion rings are STRONG) with the best, freshest Walleye or Pike catch up north, eh. Only to be outdone by James who quietly and methodically prepares the best food on Lake of the Woods. Tannis and Andrew could not be a better team ( it appears as husband and wife or owners) and run a first rate Lodge in this beautiful area of Canada. Rustic enough until you are served the bordelaise beef tenderloin and creme brûlée's...."Where am I?"Pack light as you will go home with 5+ extra pounds. :-)
Boats are up to date if you elect to rent. But, you can't get all the Canadian gossip unless you take Shane or one of the other local guides.
Drive from Winnipeg airport ( YWG ) is an easy 2.5 hours, with prompt pickup on their landing to transport out to the lodge. They could not make it easier or more enjoyable. Great for the not so serious folks who don't fish much ( 125 fish in 3 days is enough, eh?) or the serious anglers who want a comfortable landing zone with cold beer and incredible food....James, that is you again....:-)
Keep up the good work, eh....we are angling to return:-)

Three nights at the lodge with 2 day’s guided fishing - grandfather, son and 10 year old. All total we caught 33 fish each day, mostly northern pike plus 4 walleye, 1 large mouth bass and several small mouth bass. One day we had a full lunch just off the lake prepared by our guide of fried fish we caught, along with freshly cut French fries and fried onion rings. A bountiful lunch.

The facility is about 10 cabins and a main lodge. Breakfast and dinner at the lodge were well prepared. While there is limited staff, all were courteous and helpful. Our fishing guide, James, did a fine job. Owners Andrew and Tannis Clinton were very nice, affable and good hosts.

Our only negative observations was that they seemed to skimp on minor things. For example, the cabin had no potable water and there was no water stocked there, but you could get water at the lodge. Seemed obvious to keep water at the lodge, especially since there was a full kitchen. No shampoo and tiny soap bars were noticeable. Peeling bathroom linoleum was a detraction.

However, we had a great time, enjoyed ourselves and felt quite comfortable at the lodge.

We have been coming to Ash Rapids for lunch and dinners over the years. We have a cottage on Lake of the Woods. There is nothing better than taking a cruise to the Camp and sitting on the outdoor deck, receiving great service and excellent food. The owners of the Camp (the Clintons)do an outstanding job. Every year we look forward to returning and will be there as soon as we can this coming year. Pam and Chris Hodgson, Treaty Island.

Fishing, food and friends, Ash Rapids combines all into the best of all.
Great knowledgeable guides, food from the breakfast to dinner prepared by a genius Chef. Top that with shore lunch as you watch cooked by your guide seated on an island.
Cabins cleaned daily , I don't even have to make my bed!
If you want the best of ALL, I recommend Ash Rapids Lodge...
There is no better.
