We always stay a night in Kenora on our way from Southern Ontario to Manitoba and this trip was no exception. We like to try different motels. We stayed on night, room was large and clean and bed was super comfortable. You are a very short walk to McDonalds, KFC, Tim's , Walmart or Canadian Tire. Our night was quiet, lots of construction crews staying there. We were advised about bears that visit at night sometimes and to get all food stuff out of your vehicle, we saw no bears. My husband ordered dinner to our room, decent price and he enjoyed. In the morning we went to the restaurant for breakfast, and had eggs, home fries bacon toast for a very decent price, they even carried gluten free bread, bonus. The only negative I can say is checking in took forever, the front desk guy was on the phone and he was the only one working and we had an outside upstairs room, no elevator, not the end of the world for us but could be a barrier for some.

We have stayed 2 nights in this hotel and while the place is serviceable, it is badly in need of a facelift. It is clean with great beds, tv, fridge and microwave. The rooms have relatively new curtains and washroom but carpets are a little worn. The a/c is a 40 yr old wall unit that has seen better days and the heat is from the same vintage baseboard units.
If you are expecting a reasonably comfortable room for your money, this appears to be the place as it is completely booked.
Service at the front desk is variable depending on who is serving you.

Hotel room is filthy, carpets were damp from the AC and when you walked on them turned the bottom of your feet black, had to wear shoe all the time, even the coffee pot was left with old coffee in it. The pool was closed for renovations but nothing stated on the web site, so do t take your kids there hoping to go for a dip. Ants in the bathroom and no plug in the tub to have a bath after walking on the carpet. On the good side, very comfortable beds.

I’d like to start with abit of positivity and say I’m grateful they had a room available and they were able to accommodate me. I booked late as I thought I could make it back to Winnipeg but was it was late and decided I needed to sleep.
$180 for a room that was in pure disarray, broken door transitions, laminate was buckled and heaving, door wouldn’t close properly, paper thin walls. Just nasty. I didn’t even want to sleep there, I’m not usually one to complain but next time I’ll opt to drive the extra 3 hours home.

My two girlfriends and I stayed here August long. We got dropped off around 10:30 and there were a bunch of homeless men standing around our room. All night we could hear the people above us, unsure of what was going on. Then around 3 am my girlfriends woke up to the sound of someone trying to get into our room. This place needs security especially for what you pay a night. Would not recommend staying here. Our other group of friends stayed at comfort in. Definitely less sketchier and worth the extra $25 a night.

A fully satisfactory motel, not a new property but well maintained with comfortable beds, crisp linens (duvet covers, not blankets & bedspreads) and a good selection of amenities.

Reasonably priced for this area, where hotel/motel prices tend to be very expensive. Right beside the McDonald's and across the street from the A & W.

Pleasant and helpful staff. I would happily return.

We stayed 2 nights. Our room stunk like wet carpet with a cover up of eucalyptus. We complained but hotel was booked solid and our complaint fell on deaf ears. We wouldn't even let housekeeping come in for fear of making the odor worse. We had to sleep with the bathroom fan on, window opened and air conditioning on, but air conditioner didn't work properly and we still gagged almost our entire stay. We found a clothing tag by the side of the bed which didn't belong to us which made us wonder how thorough housekeeping cleans a room.

This hotel is extremely run down. Pool had been shut down for a while and we were not told during booking or check inn. Had to find out when you walk up to the door. This was for a boys fishing trip. They aren't too picky for cleanliness yet they all agreed it was dirty and stinky. The rooms seemed like housekeeping did a good job but just the hotel in general is dirty. Won't be going back next year, even if the pool is fixed.

No A/C. Dirty. Very Old. $174 for a night not worth more than $100. Found about 25 black hairs. We’re all blond hair. Smelt like Axe. Very humid towels, thought they were used. But think because of the heat and humidity of the room it was just because of AC not working

Upon arriving, was welcomed by staff just outside entry door, all having their cigarette break. Front desk person seemed irritated by us arriving during his break. We weren't given any information about amenities upon our check in, just told where our room was. The grounds are filthy, the place is basically falling apart, the door into our room was a complete hack job, broken windows on the balcony, also the balcony hasn't been swept in 5 years. During our visit we watched as staff spent all of their extra time at the front entry smoking and having a great old time. Not one of them picked up any of the litter, emptied buckets of garbage on the balcony or swept up any of the 50,000 cigarette butts on the grounds. To simply put it, this place is a dump. Not worth the money we paid for the room.
