Extremely and Ridiculously over priced for this kind of hotel and location; poor lighting throughout room, almost no light in bathroom; dark red stains on carpet, staff says hair dye from previous guests.! Unsavory part of town, good enough for an emergency stay like ours but would never book again, but front desk gal was really nice and helpful. beds were comfortable and bathroom and bedding were clean from what we could see! Bedding needs to be updated to warmer comforters. Carpets are disgusting and need to be replaced; we survived anyway! Again, the gal at the front desk was really nice and helpful.

If you're traveling with small children please stay somewhere else. The rooms have a musty, uncomfortable smell. The noise coming from the front door travels upstairs and is impossible to sleep (at least that's where we think the loud noises where coming from). The playground looks unsafe.

The day I arrived I received my room which was in the detached part of the hotel on the first floor. The room ended up not having working hot water. I told the staff about this and they ended up giving me a new room just above me on the second floor. In that room, the toilet made a gurgling noise every 4 minutes. In order to sleep, I had to shut off the toilet supply valve each night. The area I stayed in was very creaky and had thin walls so I heard every door open and shut, every person walking in the halls and even people snoring at night. Since I had the privilege of having checked into two rooms during my stay, I noticed in each room the garbage was not fully emptied from previous patrons.

Since I was there on business however I cannot comment on the room rate since I am not sure what my company paid for the room.

Other than that the front staff was friendly and helpful. The maintenance guy could have been nicer (basically called me a liar when I reported the toilet issue). I do highly recommend going to the restaurant attached to the hotel. If I ever need to stay out in Kenora for work again I will try and stay elsewhere until things approve at the Travelodge.

I needed a place to stay in Kenora for one week as I lived there for 5 years and was visiting. It was hard to get a hotel and Travelodge had the only available room. At first glance the hallways and general property need some work and a facelift but the room was very clean and amazingly comfortable for the time I stayed there. The window air condition unit was a little noisy but I was probably too tired for it to really bother me. The maintenance was good as housekeeping checked each day to see if I needed towel and bed linen changes. Overall this stay was good and the hotel was located in a very quiet area of town with great amenities. If all the rooms are as well kept as 115 I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Just overlook the dated hallways and the overall ruddiness of the property and enjoy the room where you will spend most of your time. If I were the owner of that piece of real estate I would tear it all down and build a 20 floor tower with amenities on the ground floor. This is a great location and I just think it is underdeveloped and would serve the town of Kenora better with a more updated look. Someone should really bring this hotel up to 21st century standards as it has great potential.

Down hill corridor to our room was also slanted in places across the hall. Room was dingy, looked dirty, bad smell and a big stain on the carpet by the beds. All furnishings looked to be 40+ years old. Old wooden Windows didn't lock and we were on the first floor. Air conditioning is a joke - the unit looked just as old as the room and no way to work it to cool down. Do yourself a favour and keep driving!

What a dump. The room smelled and the carpet was older than my grandmother. I can't believe you would charge $250 a night for a place that wasn't worth $50.
We complained to the front desk and all he could say was: "I only work here. The owner can't afford to renovate." For $250 a night, I think he can afford to renovate.
I will never stay at a Travelodge again.

When you take your children for a vacation to a hotel that states they have a pool, to find out it’s been closed for a year. Very dissatisfied. Does not have a restaurant in the hotel have to walk to one and only received a 10% discount for one time when staying for three nights

This place was bad and the hallway has a gross smell. When we checked in the pool was broken. I said $200 is a lot to stay at a hotel with no amenities, not even the ones promised and the girl at the desk was so rude and told me I should go somewhere else. But since it was after 4pm I would be fully paying for my reservation at Travelodge. When we finally got to our room there was only one bed even though my reservation was for 2. The girl at the front desk argued and said I changed my reservation on June 10 even though I had an email from Travelodge on June 20 confirming my reservation of 2 beds. She was down right rude and ruined my stay. I will never stay here again and would recommend any other place in Kenora. There is no worse hotel

most smelly, old room I have ever stayed in and to be charged almost $200 on top was crazy. room smelt extremely bad and they tried to cover smell wit carpet deodorizers or baby powder. this hotel needs to renovated in the worst way and if nothing else, change carpets and upgrade to remove smells.

This hotel is terrible. Stains on carpet and furniture, dirty floors and washroom, bad smells everywhere, very noisy. The first night we stayed on the ground floor at the back of the hotel down a dark, dirty hallway. There was a door to the back parking lot by our room, it was not locked so anyone could come and go...and people did all night long. The slamming door kept us up all night and we did not feel safe. We asked to switch rooms for the 2nd night, and the front desk accommodated. The room was on the 2nd floor and was much brighter and a bit cleaner. We booked this hotel with a group and received the "discounted" group rate, which was still way overpriced for what we got. There is no free breakfast and the pool was closed (it looked and smelled gross anyway). They did not tell us the pool would be closed during our stay. Also, one of the other guests in our group found used needles in the stairway one morning. Do not stay here.
