My husband and I spent 2 nights here in the middle of our cross country road trip. This spot is truly a gem and a great way to explore the area. Deanna & Tim made us feel at home and we shared wonderful conversation over delicious & homemade breakfasts. We spent hours sitting out on their private dock on the lake with nothing but the sounds of nature. We would definitely stay here again next time we come to Kenora. FYI they were very Covid-19 careful, provided hand sanitizer and socially distanced when needed. The bed was very comfortable & cool in the basement despite the 30 degree heat.

The Log Cabin Inn is located about a 25 minute drive north east of downtown Kenora in a fairly isolated area, surrounded by trees and with a wonderful lake view. We saw a bald eagle and black bear. We had a very relaxing two day stay and enjoyed meeting and talking to the owners. Both breakfasts were very good. We felt very welcome in their home.

There are two bedrooms and we stayed in the Rose Room which is the larger of the two rooms. The room includes an en suite with a toilet and sink. The shower is located down the hallway and is used by occupants of both rooms. The bedrooms are small and, as a result, we stored our suitcase with all belongings in the Common Room located between both bedrooms. The comfortable Common Room, for guests to use, includes a couch, chair, all the makings for coffee and tea and lots of reading material.

We will gladly return to this B & B for a stay but will want to make sure the second bedroom is not going to be used by other guests providing for a more relaxing environment.

Just outside Kenora, Ontario, and easy to find, this is a beautiful B and B with very comfortable bedrooms and large sitting room. Fresh air, quiet, and excellent breakfast. Just stayed one night but would love to spend more time. Hosts were very accommodating for my late arrival due to a lengthy detour I encountered because of a bad accident on the highway. As I hadn't been able to stop for dinner, they made sure I didn't go to bed hungry.

I had visited the Log Canin Inn (Kenora) website and it looked beautiful. I called and booked two rooms. I thought I was booking the Log Cabin Inn in Kenora. I paid by credit card. A couple of days later, after a nice dinner with family in Kenora, we showed up at what should have been, and once was, the Log Cabin Inn only to find out the property was, according to a neighbour, sold last summer and is no longer offering accommodation. Nobody was home and it appears it is now someone’s private residence. We had to drive almost all the way back to Kenora to get cell service. I called the number for the Log Cabin Inn, only to learn I had booked and paid for two rooms at a place with the same name (Log Cabin Inn), but in Parry Sound, hundreds of miles away! Needless to say, that is not where we wanted to stay as we were visiting family the next day in Kenora. It was too late to cancel the reservation! I won’t know for a couple of days if that Log Cabin Inn was able to rent out our reserved rooms to someone else in our absence, but it was past 8:00 p.m. when I called. If they weren’t able to rent the rooms out, I will be stuck paying for those two rooms in Parry Sound, plus the two rooms we were able to find in Kenora. Trip Advisor needs to remove the Log Cabin Inn in Kenora from its offerings so nobody else makes the same costly mistake. It is very confusing! We were fortunate we were able to find rooms in Kenora after 8:00 p.m. on. Sunday in July!

We spent 4 wonderful nights here as part of our cross Ontario road trip. We did the journey to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.
The Log cabin itself is absolutely beautiful and the fall colours were at their peak during our stay which made it even more magical. Our room (the rose room) was very nice and had its own ensuite bathroom. Because of Covid, we were the only guests and had the entire lower level to ourselves. In the lower level there is a cozy living room with a mini fridge, microwave, kettle and a french press for morning coffee. There is also a separate shower room with an amazing rainfall shower head.
Tim and Deanna are wonderful hosts! They opened up their home and their hearts to us and made us feel very welcome. Deanna is also an exceptional cook and made us a hearty mouth watering breakfast every day.
We also paddled around the beautiful lake in the canoe and even enjoyed some good fishing. I caught some nice smallmouth bass and plenty of pike with the biggest being close to 30 inches!
Overall, we considered our stay here to be the highlight of our 2 week trip and would highly recommend this top notch B&B to anyone looking for some rest and relaxation in truly breath taking setting!

We were travelling back to southern Ontario from Alberta and found this lovely B&B. We booked 2 nights and explored the area. Deanna is lovely and provided a wonderful place with great views of the lake. Breakfasts were wonderful. They have kayaks and a wood burning sauna but we didn’t find the time to use them. This was a great find and would love to spend more time here going fishing. Price was also very reasonable.

After a long rainy drive, Deanna served us tea and fresh cinnamon buns. We braved a dip in the lake and warmed up in the sauna as the sun set. Thank you for the delicious breakfast and warm conversation.

Tim & Deanna are outstanding hosts - very welcoming and friendly. Our room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious. Beautiful location right on the lake and Deanna's flower gardens are magnificent! Highly recommend this B & B!

This was a wonderful place to stay for us for several reasons:

First of all, it is in a beautiful setting - right on the edge of a lake, with a stately white pine tree towering over it, a view of the other side of the lake that appears to be untouched boreal forest, and well kept grounds with grasses, lilac bushes and other flowers. You have to drive a good 7km off of Hwy 17A to get to it, so it is both away from the highway noise and yet not too far from Kenora (maybe 15-25 minutes?)

Secondly, the wilderness and wildlife are so close at hand. The Common loons were calling at night. A bald eagle landed right on the white pine above the B & B while I was watching. Ruby-throated hummingbirds frequent the hummingbird feeders. Pileated woodpecker, Purple finch, American goldfinch, Pine siskin, Evening grosbeak, Mourning warbler, Eastern phoebe and other birds were around the grounds or very close by. Canoes are available to use, and we took advantage and paddled through the marsh on one end of the lake to get to some gorgeous rapids. In the marsh area we heard Green frogs, Swamp sparrows, Red-winged blackbirds and other species. At the rapids we were able to wade and even lie in the not-too-cold waters. A wonderful hidden getaway!

The hospitality was also great. Friendly and adventurous folks who served great home made breakfasts (breakfast 1 was oven baked French toast, fruit, greek yogurt, and scrambled eggs from eggs from their own on-property chickens. Breakfast 2 was a hearty quiche, wonderful biscuits with butter and rhubarb jam, and fruit. And of course tea and coffee were available.

The room (Rose room) we were in has a view of the lake, a very soft and cozy feather bed, and an en suite half bathroom (toilet and sink). It was clean, nicely furnished and decorated. A common room between the two suites has a couch, a fridge, a microwave, a kettle for making tea, etc. The shared shower has good water pressure, is clean and spacious, and has a high shower head for all us tall guys!

The whole cabin is made of logs and has a deck that completely surrounds it - with great views all around. There is also a lower deck half way down to the lake, and a dock for canoes/boat.

A wonderful gem for a very reasonable price (compared to many much less personal hotels)

Why stay at the Super 8 in Kenora when for the same price you can get luxurious accommodation along a quiet pristine lake, super friendly hosts, an amazing breakfast, use of the dock and canoe...all only 20 minutes away from Kenora? It's certainly well worth the extra drive. My girlfriend and I stayed here during the Kenora Triathlon weekend and we're glad we did. The Treadway's go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. For example, since we had to be at the triathlon by 6:30am, Deanna got up at 5am to prepare us a breakfast of oatmeal, fresh fruit, french press coffee, various homemade breads/jams and warm baking right out of her oven. We were amazed that Deanna did so much for us that early in the morning! Their house itself is built in a beautiful log cabin style, high up overlooking the lake. The lower lever of the house contains the two rooms with private washroom and your own living room area. You can hang out there or go upstairs and listen to the great stories Tim and Deanna have to share. Outside, their friendly golden retriever and cat will accompany you down to the dock where you can sunbath, take a dive into the lake or go for a paddle on the canoe. All and all a most awesome place to stay!
