The room exceeded our expectations and included a view over the harbour. We walked over to see the shipwreck La Grande Hermine and took some pictures. The staff in the restaurant were friendly and super helpful. By the way, the chef is a catch! Hope he doesn't get away! All staff were very friendly and professy.

This place is an outdated, run down hotel. For $110/ night I expected better! Filthy carpets, noisy pipes/water from other rooms, and no cable/satellite tv. Over the air tv was brutal! Poor signal most of the time. Spent one night, never again. Only upside was a great view out to Lake Ontario!

The Beacon is close to everything and is right on Lake Ontario. It’s a great getaway spot, comfortable rooms, delicious food. We really enjoy the breakfast. I love the place and stay there every time I come back to the Niagara area. I really think this is one of Niagara’s gems.

Nice by the water, but it does smell old and musty. The staff were very friendly. The breakfast was included and delicious. If they pulled the rugs and put down hard flooring, this would be a beautiful hotel. The pool was empty and closed when we were there.

My husband and I had an awful experience this past weekend at this hotel. We checked in and got placed in the wrong room. When we got to the room that wasn't ours to begin with, we noticed the headboard of the bed was broken and unsafe to sleep on. I went to the front desk to let someone know because no one was answering the phone. The lady at the desk looked confused when I told her what room we were in and she began to tell me that she accidentally put us in the wrong room and that the people who booked the room we got sent to, requested the top floor. I asked her if we needed to move our stuff to the correct room and she said no that she will take care of it with the other guests. Ten minutes later she came and knocked on the door to see the broken headboard and then advised us that because you were fully booked, we had to pack up our things and move to the original room that we were supposed to have. Once settled into the room I took a shower and realized that the drain was so clogged with hair and other things that it began to fill up the tub as I was standing in it. I called down to ask for extra towels and the same lady came to deliver some. That's when I told her that the tub was completely clogged and that we were there all weekend so we'd like it fixed. Nobody came to fix the tub so every shower we had that weekend was very short because of the water rising so high. When we checked out it was a different worker at the desk and we asked him what all of the fees were on our bill. He explained that there is a new destination fee that the hotel is charging everyone to "get things rolling again since covid". He also explained that the amenities fee was for parking, wifi and the pool. It is advertised that wifi is complimentary so that didn't make sense to us as well as the pool being closed. I also didn't understand why these things were charged for both nights stay when we only travelled once to the hotel. When he asked us how our stay was we explained the situations that occurred when we arrived and we didn't even get an apology from him as if he wasn't listening to us in the first place. He handed us our print out of the receipt and said have a nice day. This experience was totally unacceptable, unwelcoming and not hospitable in the slightest.
