Cozy, clean, rustic cabins, at a reasonable price, right on the lake with great views. My only complaint is that the actual waterfront has some areas that have broken down remains of old docks and structures. The parts that have a beach are nice. Waterworks, bbqs and fire pits make this a great short term stay.

We chose Tally Ho Inn because it is pet friendly and priced pretty reasonably vs other getaway resorts within the Huntsville and surrounding regions. Despite COVID 19 limitations that kept its breakfast and Rec room with billiards table closed, it was a very pleasant stay. The property is well kept and scenic and with BBQ’s available and Muskoka Rocks patio within walking distance so both options can be covered without even getting into the car. For the best pickup breakfast or brunch drive 10 mins to 3 Guys & a Stove and order from their “On Facaccia” Food Truck. The food from there is awesome, reasonably priced and package in foil so that it’s still really hot when you are back and ready to eat! We were there on the Sunday, Monday so it was relatively quiet when we were there but had been very busy that weekend and will be through the rest of the summer. Go and enjoy!

I was very pleased with my stay at the Tally Ho Inn. I stayed in one of the Sunset rooms which had an unobstructed view of the lake across a nice stretch of lawn. Upon entering the room, I could tell it had been freshly cleaned. In fact, I found it to be practically spotless. The bed and pillows were comfortable, and I appreciated there was air conditioning although I only needed the tower fan. I also liked the coffee that was supplied along with coffee maker, microwave oven and small but decent sized fridge. Two Muskoka chairs and a picnic table were in front of my unit for my use. I hope to return someday when COVID restrictions are lifted and I will have the chance to use the canoes or kayaks, and have breakfast on site. A good addition to the rooms might be a broom, as housekeeping was not available during my stay due to the current restrictions.

After a year of being locked in my home in the city, I desperately needed to get away for some peace and quiet by the water. After an extensive search, I found Tally Ho Inn's website. They had availability for my chosen dates.
From my first phone call to book a cabin, to my stay, everything was just amazing!
Shari was so kind and helpful in helping me select a cabin and offered an unbeatable rate for the weekend.
The cabin was absolutely gorgeous! It had two HUGE bedrooms with separate baths that had lovely deep, soaker tubs. The beds were very comfortable. There were two oversized armchairs in the living room, set in front of the sliding glass doors that led to a VERY large deck, overlooking the water.
The fireplace in the living room was quite spacious and Tally Ho Inn provided a load of firewood each day, along with a bag of kindling. The wood was very well seasoned and burned beautifully.
The property was beautiful, right on the water, and peaceful. It has a private beach.
It was so quiet and peaceful - perfect for a weekend getaway to restore the Soul.
The cottage was VERY clean and quiet. There was a TV with satellite for those times when you want to veg in front of the TV. There wasn't a kitchen, however, there was a good sized mini fridge, microwave, kettle, coffee maker and mugs.
They enforced physical distancing to ensure everyone's safety. When I checked in, I entered the foyer of the main building, picked up the envelope with my key and instructions... I only saw the employees from a distance.
I felt very safe and secure and could see clearly that they were taking distancing measures very seriously to protect their guests and employees.
The property is located about 10 mins outside Huntsville, so it was easy to get to the grocery stores and Tim Horton's.
Overall, I will definitely stay again and I will bring my family along.
Thank you, Shari, and Tally Ho Inn, for helping me find a safe, quiet space to reconnect with nature and give my weary soul respite from the demands of life.

My fiancee and I headed up for a weekend as a last minute mini-vacation and couldn't be happier with Tally-Ho. They were friendly and accommodating with our last-minute reservation and gave us a bigger space for a very affordable price. The cabins are cozy and functional, each with their own decks overlooking the field. There are a couple little beaches on the lake to enjoy and a few docks as well. The fire pits are fun at night. The off leash dog area was perfect, a good size and our pup sure loved being on the adventure with us. Usually they have a recreation hall open and water toys like canoes and kayaks but this was closed due to covid. It was a perfect peaceful little vacation and we will definitely be back. The only thing this place lacks is a full kitchen (and they let you know on the website so plan accordingly :)

Such a great warm weekend get away for the first day of spring. Also great way to spend a weekend with your significant other. No contact check in and check out made it covid friendly. There’s a few great spots to have a fire at sunset right down by the water. The lake is beautiful and the fishing is amazing. Ice was still 18inches & we caught a 9lb lake trout. The locals out in the ice were also extremely friendly and gave us some tips on places to check out! Cottage was clean & came equipped with coffee maker, toaster, mini fridge, full stove top/oven, and the cupboards had some cutlery, plates, cups, pots/pans! :)

we sue tally-ho for a quick getaway and were pleasantly surprised with the property. The Lake skating rink was awesome and the little cabin with fireplace was clean and cozy and perfect for our needs. Contactless check-in was perfect and we were able to stay without interacting with anyone. My only suggestion would be to ensure that the walkways to the cabins are properly salted as my kid fell and hurt his arm and smashed his head on the icy path to the cabin (under the icicles), while unpacking the car. Otherwise, pretty spot! Basic, but great for us.

We stayed for three nights, to provide an escape from the city.
The cabin was clean and well prepared.
Fire wood was delivered each day and the walking paths were kept clear.
We made use of the fireplace and the BBQ.
The lake ice was cleared for skating as well.
Pandemic protocols were followed at all times.

Overall, it was a very nice and pleasant stay. You can either have a lazy day on the lake or head to Algonquin park, which is about 30 min drive away.
The pros: The location is right on the lake. The cottages are spaced out with most units having a full view of the lake. The staff is super nice, friendly and helpful, was always a pleasure to communicate with them. The rooms are clean and spacious and kitchens fully equipped with cooking essentials. The hotel has some nice extras: You can get a kayak or a canoe at no extra charge; it provides wood (there are private and communal fire pits) and gas grills.
The cons: This is right off route 60, so you do get to hear some noise from the passing cars. Some rooms could use remodeling. For example, our unit had a bathroom sink with separate (ice cold(/(scolding hot) water taps. The bathroom towels were so thin from being worn out that they didn't dry (good we brought ours).

The place is so cozy. The people are amazing-warm and friendly. There is especially one lady that cares for the rooms- super pretty with big blue eyes and usually wears blue bandana. She remembered us from last time and each time made our experience there that much nicer. She deserves a special shout-out although everyone is really pleasant. We appreciate it so much. The grounds are beautiful. We Love this place. Thank you for your hospitality!!

Hello Edwina,
Feel free to call us directly at 1-800-461-4232. Office hours are currently 8:00 am - 9:00 pm. Keep in mind, changes to your reservation will have to be done via the on-line agent you used to make your reservation with us but we will be happy to answer any questions or concerns you may have.
We do not have a restaurant on site, however, there are several restaurants in the town of Huntsville and Muskoka on the Rocks is a pub style restaurant that is within walking distance from us, almost directly across the highway from Tally Ho Inn.
Yes, you would bring your own food. Your cottage has a full kitchen and an outdoor propane bbq.
Thank you,
Tracy
