The owner was friendly. However the room was very dated, and not in very good repair. The light beside the beds had no knob to turn it on or off, the curtain was falling apart at the seams, and the bar of soap that was supplied for the shower looked like it had gotten wet. The air conditioner was very noisy. It looked fairly clean, however through the night, I had an earwig crawl on me. The location of this hotel is very nice, however it needs a major over haul to bring it up to par.

I am not sure why any of these negative comments are even on here. You obviously were looking for a discounted room or you would have just went to one of the big 3 here in town.

#1. The management is very nice, I have only known them 2 days and I can already tell you that they are doing their best with what they have.

#2. One absolute disturbing discovery was the fact that this is the ONLY motel in Huntsville that does NOT provide wifi or ethernet in the rooms. (I was however so kindly invited to use the managements personal home internet, which only reaches the first 2 rooms) I am a web developer and i travel a lot, so i see my share of shady motels and this is not shady. I can not handle the no internet thing, and i certainly cant handle the fact that they dont have a website. But these are just personal issues i have....kinda like an OCD.

#3 Pets welcomed. When you travel with pets it is hard to find a place to accommodate them. I know cause i travel, and i have a pet. The idea these rooms are dated is absolutely true, but they are clean. If you want a Hilton suite, its right down the road but be prepared to pay double what Highland Court will charge.

You get what you pay for. If you want a clean warm safe place to sleep and dont require internet access, i suggest you come here. If you want a clean warm safe place with a 5k thread count and freshly painted drywall, go to the Hilton or the Super 8, dont come here.

Very homey, passionate and very peaceful stay. I have been here 2 days and I will be staying here a while longer. This place really needs a website and internet access, for that reason i scored it 3/5........perhaps ill spin up a little website for them while i am here, that is how happy i am with the accommodations !

We stayed here overnight, were looking of a reasonably priced hotel as a stopover when dropping off our kids at a local camp. The owner was friendly and helpful but the room we had was very dated, the bed uncomfortable, the air conditioner and bathroom fan were extremely noisy. The bathroom is in serious need of updating, the enamel was peeling off the toilet seat and the bathtub faucet handle falling off, among other things. When we came back the following week we stayed somewhere else.

The owner, or more manager I think, stayed awake after I phoned for a room due to bad weather, to be sure we could check in. Best price as I had phoned around, so wasn't expecting much. Opened the door and the room was very nice... very homey and comfortable, under new management I was told and they are trying to slowly update all the rooms. Awesome, I would return and recommend to others :)

Let me preface by saying I have chosen and enjoyed buget hotels many times so it came as a huge shock to see the condition of this room. Maybe it was a one-of for the property but I want other travellers to be aware.

Upon entering the room there was a horrid stale damp smell. We turned the AC unit on hoping it would help clear it - it masked it a bit so the air was breathable at least. The AC unit was so loud you could not hear the TV so we turned the TV off (which is probably why we heard the tv in room next door....ALL NIGHT!) And the tv stand was broken so it was tilted. The beds were full of grit which made us wonder if the sheets were clean (office was closed so no way to have them changed at that hour). Although we booked for 4 people there were only towels for 2...again the office was closed at this point so we could not request more (it was still closed the next morning at 10 am when we headed out for the day). There was no daily service. There was garbage on the floor of the bathroom and sand everywhere else. The bathroom wall was 'melting' off as there were no tiles. There was hair from a previous guest clumped on the shower wall. Toilet paper was on the back of the toilet and very inconvenient to get to. Coffee service was not in sealed portions but rather containers of loose product....did not trust it. The curtains were not hung well (only 3 or 4 hooks per) and had many holes in them as if buckshot was aimed at them.

This was certainly not a room valued at anything more than maybe $45 a night if that - not worth $100+. I would be hard pressed to give it even one star.

I was going to stay there but upon viewing the 1 bedroom suite, stunk so bad of cigarette's is was discusting, i thought there was a NO Smoking Law in Ontario, the manager forgot to read up on that law. When i said something about the cigarette smell she said she charged the guy $150 because of it, well usually when you charge you clean it up, not happening in this motel, the rooms where cute but Management didn't clean much!!! The price was outrageous as well, I'm not sure how this place got rated so high, because the rooms smell really bad.

We stayed at this motel for one night in May. We stayed there as a stopover on our way to visit Algonquin Provincial Park which is only a 40 minute drive from Huntsville.
We checked in very late and the owner was very helpful and friendly to us even at midnight!
The rooms were very clean and recently refinished. Standard amenities including two double beds, TV, coffee maker, and fridge.
Great little motel room for an outstanding price. We paid $55 for one night with four people in the room.
I would definitely return to this motel.
