My Husband and I stayed at the King William Inn this past weekend for 2 nights. The room we had seemed like everything in it was brand new, from the carpeting to the furniture to even the bathroom fixtures and television.
It was very clean and inviting and for a pleasant surprise ENOUGH TOWELS!!!
We chose a room on the second floor with a Whirlpool tub. Everything worked perfectly in the room and it always had plenty of hot water. Just a side note... if you plan to use bubbles or foam bath JUST A BIT!!! LOL
We would stay again for sure when in Huntsville. Walking distance to restaurants and shops and plenty of parking.

We needed a place to stay on our long journey to northern Ontario. We chose this hotel because it had good ratings on Trip Advisor and the price was good. Upon entering our room, we felt very comfortable that we were not in danger of germs from Covid. The room was very clean, you could tell that it had been sanitized thoroughly. In the morning when we were leaving, the ladies had the doors open as they were cleaning other rooms and we could see that they were working very hard at giving each room a super cleaning. The beds were comfortable and there were nice comfy chairs for us to sit on in the room as well as two nice comfy lawn chairs out in front of our room so that we could enjoy the lovely summer evening. Friendly welcoming staff and owners. We will definitely stay there again if we ever find ourselves in the Huntsville area again.

First off. This place is what it is. It’s a budget hotel, so don’t be expecting any frills extra amenities. What you do get is a clean room, comfortable beds, hot water and great service. The young man who runs this place is very friendly and helpful. We were here on a motorcycle trip and it rained overnight. He left us towels on the chair outside the room so we could wipe them off in the morning. It’s little things like that that go a long way.
This place is also walking distance to all of the downtown restaurants which is very convenient.

Clean, comfortable, quiet, great service and convenient. Great little budget hotel.

Booked a “queen balcony” for two nights. Aug 18-20th. At check-in Sunday 9pm they assigned a ground floor so l asked for the room l had booked, since l specifically selected Queen bed w Balcony on Choicehotels.com. Reception said there are no “notes” for our request. I explained there shouldn't be a need for "notes" since this was the specific room we had booked, not some special request. I requested and booked a top floor because l am sensitive to noise. She said the only other queen balcony is on the second floor and the people had extended their stay. Since it was 9pm didn't have much choice. Upon entering the room it smelled smokey. Second day we arrived in the evening to be greeted by groups of smokers including ones 5’ from our door, loudly conversing and smoking (Not smoking tobacco). I guess we should have noticed that they put a double set of chairs RIGHT outside between each room, with ashtrays! The second day was a Monday and a-lot of roofer work trucks in the lot. I ended up trying to block smoke out with a towel under the entry door. Having asthma, l book non smoking for a reason. Receptionist was friendly but not much can be done, so be prepared if either noise or smoking bothers you. Noise echoing from ppl going up and down the steel stairs outside the room.
Excellent water pressure. Wifi at rm 31 sucked. 3 small pillows on what is described as a queen size bed. Carpet was damp, and white socks ended up black from walking in room.

We stayed here on Family Day weekend of a Hockey Tournament. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! The kids had a ton of fun playing in the snow hill (from the plow cleaning out the parking lot) and the room was surprisingly quiet with the kids running back and forth. The room access is all from outside - there is no common area or meeting rooms. It's a very basic motel but it did the trick

Very professional, very clean. Very quiet, even that close to downtown. Bed's are incredible. Everything you need is pretty much within walking distance. I really enjoyed my stay. Will gladly visit again.

This motel is in a good area close walking distance to restaurants and the down town core.
Upon arrival we decided to turn on the heat to just take the chill out of the room. I think something died in the unit because the smell was unbearable. We quickly turned the heat off and opened the door to
Air our our room.
This motel is very basic accommodations in desperate need of a lot of TLC.
I would rate this place at a 2 star no more.
PS. Start by cleaning the windows.

All we wanted was a clean place close to downtown Huntsville with comfortable beds. Better yet was the price point and good reviews. It looked like a bikers lot. LOL! They love it here 🥰. We have kayaks NOT bikes 🏍. We didn’t fit in ...but was funny 😆. I think each room should have a coffee maker and small microwave. There is enough room. Forget the breakfast....This is a Covid world 🌎. No one wants to share a microwave on the second floor. We would stay here again.

I was at this hotel for a 2 day business meeting in the town of Huntsville, I was asking the lady at front desk about the restaurants and shopping, she acted like I was taking up to much of here time and when the phone rang she answered it leaving me standing there and did not pay attention to me at all. I finally walked away on my own while she was laughing and talking not so nicely about a other employee. no people skills what so ever, extremely rude to quests, she is a tall lady with short hair and glasses, I heard someone call her joy.

Dear Guest , Thank you for review of our property and I was extremely dismayed to hear about your negative experience with the front desk person on your visit. I can assure you the staff member in question has been reprimanded and given extra training in excellent customer service. Please accept my apologies and I hope that you will return to stay with us again soon.

My wife and I just spent this past weekend (2 nights) in room 34, a corner unit upstairs.

Unfortunately, our review isn't very positive.

When booking the room our credit card was charged twice the same day. When my wife inquired about this she was told they ran the card once. The credit card company told us they did twice, once for the cost of the room, and once for security in case of damages etc... Our card had the "pending transaction" of $327.70 (two nights) charged twice for a total of $655.40. We were never told about this hold that would be placed on our card. Luckily we have a high credit limit and didn't need this additional $327 that was held. To anyone with a lower credit limit planning on renting a room here and renting a car etc... also, watch out!!

Upon arriving at the motel Friday night and checking into the room we noticed the housekeeping was lacking. Although fairly clean and tidy it looks as though they stopped cleaning anything over 6' high. I'm 6' and anything above my head was not clean. Top of the armoire was clearly layered with dust and cob webs littered the corner of walls and ceilings. A vacuum with a detachable wand to reach these areas are desperately needed. The room was vacuumed well except for about an inch around the perimeter of the room where the vacuum could not reach. Again, a vacuum wand is needed in this case to clean the corners and edges which were clearly dusty.

Wifi in the room simply did not exist. I noticed other guests outside with their phones and tablets waving them around, obviously trying to get a signal. On our four devices we had (iPhone, iPad, Samsung Galaxy Tab3 and Samsung Galaxy phone) none of our devices could get a signal. We used our data plan on our phones to connect to the Internet; both our tablets were rendered useless to us while there, despite being provided the wifi password at check in.

Our "hot breakfast" consisted of a small room with no tables and contained bagels and packaged muffins. I suppose the "hot" part of the breakfast was the coffee.

In conclusion, $327 for two nights stay with a dirty room upon arrival, credit card dinged twice and the additional $327 held on our credit card until today (Tuesday) long after we arrived home, NO wifi, no "hot" breakfast... simply not worth it. If you are paying this much move along and look elsewhere. Funny, I type in dates just today for November and this motel drops their price at one point in November to $50 per night. 1/3 of what they had the nerve to charge us this past weekend.

One more thing to consider. True, we did decline housekeeping our first morning there. They came around knocking about 10:00am while we were showering and getting dressed for a wedding so of course we had to decline, one being in the shower and the other half dressed. I figured it didn't matter anyway after seeing the horrible state of the room when we first arrived with dust and cob webs. What was another cleaning going to do, empty the garbage? Big deal.

The only reason I rated this two stars instead of one is the fact the motel is centrally located and a short walk both mornings from there to get our own breakfast at McDonald's and Tim Horton's. Money we didn't plan on spending because we thought the "hot breakfast" including for our overpriced room was included.

Responded Aug 14, 2014
Dear Guest I would like to apologize for your housekeeping and wifi issues during your stay recently which is definitely not acceptable for any guest staying at this property. Our breakfast is advertised as a complimentary continental breakfast not a hot breakfast and provides muffins, bagels, toast, oatmeal, cream cheeses, jams , jellies, orange juice, apple juice and coffee with an added selection of premium tea. Our rates are competitive with every property in this area although with the problems you encountered it would seem of less value for price paid and so I would be delighted to offer you a complimentary stay at The Rodeway Inn so you can see what you experienced was not the norm for this property. I do hope you will stay with us again very soon.
