Detailed Reviews
Arrived to a Luke warm reception and realized the place needed repair. An obvious lack of maintenance and a good deep cleaning of this hotel is required. Set outside of town and would take several minutes to drive there and nowhere to walk to for eats and drinks. Room however was clean, with a firm, but comfortable bed, fridge and microwave. Look elsewhere unless you just want to get a nights sleep. not recommended.

Good and clean hotel, but the ravages of time taking its toll, would need some renovation.
No coffee maker in the room, soft drink dispenser in the corridor.
The most annoying thing of my two stays, you have to have a doctorate to use the television. It takes a long time just to get an image and even longer to change channels. Why such a complex system? On/Off, volume, channel. No need for more.

The Good - NO bed bugs, beds were comfortable
The BAD - TV didn't work, everything covered in dust, patio door wouldn't lock, sheets very wrinkly, some one elses clothes hanging on back of bathroom door, toaster broken, very slippery bathtub, filthy windows and the price $226 for one nights stay (no other rooms available in the town on the 28th of September/13.
I was aware of EXTERIOR reno's at time of booking but no excuse for not providing clean interior rooms. But hey, it was part of the adventure.

Made a reservation online for one night for me and my dog. It was only $100 for the night and the pictures looked ok. I didn’t read any reviews, but how bad could it be?
Upon arrival, the front desk was empty and there was a sign asking to call the number. Someone answered the phone quickly and came right away. However, the person that showed up looked more like a drug addict than hotel staff. Bare feet, torn t-shirt, and of course no mask. She asked for my name and wrote it down on a piece of paper, asked what type of room I needed. She did not look up my reservation on a computer and did not ask for any ID or payment method. I said the size of room didn’t really matter, it was just me and the dog for one night.
Now this is where it gets really strange. She said she could let me into a room but that I couldn’t have a key to the room and if I left the room I would have to prop the door open. She said it would be fine and my dog would be ok. The reason for this was that she only had the one key to the room. In what world does someone think this is ok? I said “No Thank You”, turned around and walked out. My overnight trip turned into a day trip and we drove home.
On the reception desk was a small basket with a note saying to leave your keys in the basket when leaving in the morning. Anyone could take the keys at any point since nobody is working the reception desk which I assume is why she is missing keys to the rooms, and not changing the locks on them when keys go missing.
Lesson Learned: Always read the reviews before booking.

Booked this hotel in June to attend my father in laws funeral...got to the hotel and the fire alarm was blaring in the hotel room and there was someone else clothes still in the "Covid Sanitized" room!! The room was filthy, the hotel was filthy! The managers answer was to knock the fire alarm off the wall and remove the other customers clothing!! We immediately left and secured a clean hotel room that followed the Covid regulations, with no booking of rooms without 24 hours between occupancy!! We booked this room with reservations.com and immediately called them and they said they would start the refund procedure... fast forward 2 months later, 4 phone calls to reservations.com average waiting time over 45 minutes for each call, for them to say that they finally after 2 months were able to speak with the manager and the hotel would not approve the refund!!! Shame on both Red Maple Inn and Suites and reservations.com!! Never Again!

First of all, check in keys are pulled & stored in a yogurt container. No elevator. Our room didn’t even have a formal number on the door. It was a photocopy pasted with tape. The keys don’t work. People were able to go in and out of our room until we received a strange key. You know when you were a kid and you had a diary with a little metal key, well that was the key to lock and unlock the door. Rooms are musty smelling and filthy. We could hear dogs barking in the surrounding rooms.

Room was first one past the fire door into the hallway. People leaving at 7 a.m. very noisy letting that door slam about 5 times. not sure if anything can be done to slow close the door. then about an hour or so later the roofers started. Would have been nice if that could have waiting to at least 10 a.m for those of us who are on holiday hoping to get a big of extra sleep. Did like the room and the Algonquin art work - our room had moose picture about headboard Just wish we could have gotten some sleep.

The motel is in serious disrepair. When you enter the room you are greeted with a strong fragrance. I soon figured out it was to mask the filth. Dry wall was crumbling above the glass door. It was when I pulled back the sheets on both beds that I told my husband there was NO way I was staying. The sheets had obviously been slept in. There were hairs and smeared blood on one of the beds. When I checked the other bed, there were semen stains on the sheets. We promptly left. The man at reception was not happy but thats too bad. Where is the health unit? This place should be bosrded up! Stay away!

Very disappointed with the customer service here. The rooms were not cleaned once during a 4 day stay and were not very clean to start with. Everything needs updating and the staff is nowhere to be found. We stayed here because we needed a pet friendly option and we were very disappointed. If there was an option for a zero star review I would be choosing it.

I give this place 1 star just because there is no option for -5. So far is the worst hotel I have ever stayed at and due to my job I have spent some time in hotels. The room was filthy, the entire place was filthy I don't think they even bothered to change the bed sheets before the gave me the room. The smell inside was worst than in a city public toilet. I am amazed that this place is still on the market! Just stay away!
