My son and I had to travel up to Cochrane for a funeral. The rooms we had were immaculate. Can say enough about the cleanliness of the rooms. Very impressed. Thank you to all the Staff and Management at the Westway Motel for making our stay warm and comfortable.

We can't say enough about the Westway! The warmth when we arrived was fabulous. The staff arranged to have our room cleaned next so we could check in early. The rooms are clean, and there is every amenity you could need. Proximity to trails and restaurants is great. Not to mention Tim Hortons! Every snowmobile trip in cochrane we'll be staying here.

Room was ample, convenient and everything worked well. Parking was good, manager/owner was very helpful and friendly. Water was good temperature and quick. especially appreciated after a ride in -26 -28 C. Place even had individual plug ins for guests outside and I noticed that the Motel has been upgraded with LED lighting indoor and out.

We used The Westway as our hub for a snowmobile trip in the last week January 2017. The rooms are super clean, warm, and cozy. Once we got all our gear into the room, there wasn't a lot of extra space but we managed. Lots of hot water and decent water pressure. Bryan and Cathy were very helpful and were in touch with the local snowmobile club and knew where there were logging operations and trails to avoid. Loved that we could park the 2 sleds right in front of our room. There's no restaurant onsite, but Tim Horton's is right next door for breakfast, and we checked out some good local restaurants for dinners. There is a microwave and a mini-fridge in the room. I have stayed at the Westway several times on past trips through the North. Frankly I expected the place to be a little tired, but I was pleasantly surprised by the maintenance and recent updates. The bathroom had been redone, the beds were clean and comfortable. My friend and I shared a non-smoking room, but you could still smell a hint of smoke from bygone days. It wasn't overpowering, but anyone with a severe allergy or reaction should probably check the rooms first. We found that once we put the fan on to bring in fresh air the smell was barely noticeable. The manager was very friendly and helpful, and as we were returning from a canoe trip we were delighted to learn that he and his family could offer a shuttle service (prearrange!) for canoeists accessing some of the…

My Boyfriend and I came up to Cochrane, Ontario for a week to take in the scenery. We stayed here at the WestWay Motel and really enjoyed our stay. The room was very spacious, clean and quite. The only problem was our bed squeaked so when ever one of us got up in the middle of night it woke up the other person. On the good note, there is a Tim Hortons rate next door ( 2 minute) walk. There is a Grocery store, Subway, Swiss Chalet in walking distance from the motel. If we ever come back up to Cochrane we will definitely come back.

We stayed here with our grandsons before and after our Moose River canoe trip that was accessed by the Polar Bear Express out of Cochrane. The owners were friendly and so helpful! This motel is centrally located close to eating establishments and the Polar Bear Refuge.

Stayed two nights at either end of canoe trip on nearby Moose River. Very welcoming owner. Rooms were comfortable with tub/shower, good a/c, microwave, etc. Quiet. Clean. Big parking lot. On main highway near center of town. Walk or drive to local restaurants. Tim Hortons next door. Train depot about 1 km.

Stayed here for 6 nights for the first time for a family matter in town. I didn't want to impose on my wife's family and friends and had read previous reviews about Westway. After staying there, all the positive reviews posted are well founded. The property is well maintained and clean. I was surprised to see a charging station for electric cars which to me clearly shows that the owners are forward thinking and catering to a varying range of different clientele. When you see a new Tesla electric car using their charging station and the vehicle owners staying at the Gateway Motel vs one of the larger hotel chains also in town speaks volumes about this motel.
